Thanks for that file brother, I unlocked all of them, now it's FightCade time.
Did not know the DC version way... But the Arcade/Naomi version is so much simple if you put the codes in the test mode, it takes 5 minutes and thats all. (You can assign a Test key in retroarch) i think its R3 on a xbox controller by default, need to allow test mode in the retroarch options for that core. The nvmem differs from version to version.
I was messing around in the test mode forever trying to see what I could do in there and I didn’t know this. I tried changing how much a credit was worth so if I hit credit it would put 9 credits in instead of 1. I also looked for dipswitches or any settings that could do this. Ii have to go back in and now google this. Thanks so much.
como faço para entrar no modo teste do arcade naomi? uso um emulador no batocera e nao consigo desbloquear os personagens de MvsC2 e nem mudar a dificuldade do jogo

Man, I wish I knew what you guys were talking about. I'm playing the arcade version on (I think) a RetroArch system... But I have no idea how to do any of the things spoken of in this video or comments. 🤷♂️
Does it matter which region. The default one is in Asia. Should I set it to USA??

It really is better than all SF versions around the same era, or earlier. Doesn’t get as much love though from the general public.
I was playing the Dreamcast version a couple of days ago and was wondering this? Don’t have the time to grind as much as I did when I was a teenager lol.
That how I did it for dreamcast but still have a lot more characters to go. It still takes a while to get the points. I mostly just play the naomi version though.

Same just got the rom last night (thank god for emulators) and i forgot that you have to unlock characters the other characters, back when game made you earn characters.
Also for the dreamcast version, without any codes, certain characters require that you win ponits in arcade machines and record them to your VMU, which is crazy lol

I don’t play much power stone but maybe it’s the same concept. Add credits . It was an arcade port similar to mvsc2

Rexer is retropie a better multi-system emulator frontend then retroarch? Thanks for the great information!
Retropie has Retroarch inside of it so you get the best of both worlds. A “pretty” UI with tons of options and everything Retroarch has to offer. So yes, Retropie is better .

How do you unlock Thanos, Iron Man, War Machine & Sentinel? I have no more unlockable boxes. Do I have to beat the games to unlock those remaining characters?
I googled it and couldn't get a straight answer. I thought they were the last 4 characters added, but obv wrong. I'm not a big Mvsc2 player.
@@therexershow I love my MVC2 modded cabinet, along with the game itself. I managed to unlock most of the characters with the exception of Sentinel. Had to purchases other things, just to continue purchasing new characters. Thanks for trying to help out.
How do I enter "test mode" when launching the game? Going to try entering codes I saw mentioned and found online

Got it figured out after watching your vid on a different games test mode - had no idea how to launch retroarch menu during a game, messed around with button combos till I got it. L3 on the controller with default config was what "Test" was bound to on Naomi. Thanks for the videos! Used codes found here;

It’s a raspberry pi 4, with Retropie.
I tried doing the “leaving the game on training mode over night” and when I woke up the game must have kicked me out of training mode because it was playing the opening for the opening. Did I do something wrong?
No. But maybe there is a max time. I usually only did a couple hours at a time. And even moved the character every once in a while.

That setup is on a raspberry pi. The rom files work the same but nothing else.
How long do I have to let training go? This is gonna be a pain... lol
It take a while to gain points in training. Best way to unlock is to beat the game and modes. But if you’re not doing anything for a few hours, or just leave it on overnight.

I have the Naomi version but in the start menu it's not showing an XP bar. I'm trying to unlock the characters by inserting coins but I have no idea how much more xp I need? I'm inserting coins while I play a bunch of times...I save the game state and turn off my device. Do the 8,000 coins have to be done in one sitting or can I save the state and eventually they will unlock? I ask cuz I've been doing this every day for like a month and haven't unlocked anything. It should save every time you start a game and then exit. Maybe you have a bunk rom or something. But I think the first the character unlocks after 300 credits. Then 1000. Then 1600 and so on. Send me an email and I can help. Therexershow@gmail.com
your nvram file did not unlock anything for me.game boots normally Naomi retropi but nothing changed
I think the checksum has to match or something because for sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It is best to be used if say your build another pi or are copying your roms somewhere. I’m not exactly sure why it doesn’t work for everyone. I would just jam the credits or go into then diags menu like some people say below and get the unlock codes and enter them there. Someone wrote below in the comments how to do it that way.
My copy of Marvel Capcom 2 for Dreamcast has been missing for years 😐

@@therexershow I lent my Dreamcast to my brother, while inwas was off in the Marines. When I got it back, it was missing. If you tru and buy it now, the disk goes for 100 bucks, loose. and for 1000's SIB. crazy, most of the Dreamcast games are very expensive.

Shouldn’t be any different if it’s the Naomi version. Add credits and they will start to unlock. First one I believe unlocks at either 300 or 600 credits. I think.

What setting are you looking for ? Just add credits if you’ll unlock the characters

@@Maknock-it1uz I’m not sure where Retroarch stores the files. On your pc will be a Retroarch folder , go into that and dig through the folders . Sometimes there is a folder called Roms inside that RA folder . But what I’m saying is don’t use that method for unlocking the characters. Just add the credits manually and the characters will unlock. You don’t need the nvmem file .
Anyone know how to use the colors you unlock for the characters?
By choosing the character you want with whatever button that is assigned for the attacks. Low punch high punch low kick high kick and so on.

What can I do for the Playstation 2 version?
On emulation ? Pcsx2? Or the disc? I’m not familiar with save files on pcsx2 but I’m guessing somehow you would have to copy one over .

Use the training method cheat I show to r just play through the game. It doesn’t matter whether it’s batocera; recalbox, or Retropie
I'm playing the Japanese arcade version on a RetroPie system. There are no "options" or training mode, that I can see?? Is there still some way to unlock characters?

Through the training mode trick or just playing. No other way I don’t think.

If you’re playing the ps2 version of the game I believe that has a training mode too. Not 💯 though as I don’t have that version.

Just mod your ps2 and cheat to get characters that's what I did and got all colors
