wish i would've seen the part about removing support but it got done today i just made it squeeze up and out was a pain ill remember the removal of the four bolts holding hood latch that would've helped lol. also there should be four bolts holding condenser to shroud don't forget those or you will be scratching your head like how does it come loose lol
Thanks for the video. I watched other videos and thought that it would be a complicated procedure and I watched your video and ordered the fan and the day it arrived I installed it. No problems thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the tip about the cross brace! I was struggling to remove my battery box. You have the better approach. Thanks!
I would’ve cut the plastic I would imagine the hard part for me are the four screws that hold the condenser to the plastic shroud I had a little Milwaukee 90 that I could stick on my drill with a short star bit
Kind of a puzzle game figuring out how to move the shroud in and out, haha. Removing the cross def helped, good call.
Thanks for watching! Glad to help!🤙🏻
@@dudeinthegaragethanks for this video brother because after watching a video of them taking all the ac lines and stuff off I was immediately thinking of doing what you did because I was looking at it saying I'm going to do this one way or the other without disconnecting those freaking hoses lines. Thanks again man
excellent just what i was looking for. thanks
Awesome, glad to help! Thanks for watching!🤙🏻
You sir are a legend. Fuse box bracket was giving me a hassle but slipped right out!
Awesome! Glad it worked out! Being hot sucks! 🤙🏻
I just replaced mine for the second time on my 2008. This time I bought the assembly from Advance instead of just a motor. Comes with warranty, and the shroud already has the cutouts. The big trick is taking the bar off the front. Great video, a big help to anyone doing it for the first time!
Hey buddy
This video saved me a lot of money, thanks
You are a hero my friend
Haha, we all gotta stay cool!🤙🏻
Thanks
Is there a fuse or relay to check if the fan stops working? I’m having same issue 2003 dodge ram 1500
Yes. It’s relay number like 68 or 72 or something. Check your fuse box cover to make sure. I had diagrams online that were different to my fuse box.
Just did this, was a pain in the ass, but saved 380 dollars.
So I was ready to cut the fan shroud because everything I looked up told me I had to but when I got the new one I guess they smartened up and had that cut out already in it so good for them
Thanks man! This helped. For some reason I couldn't get one of the lower screws (4 plastic to condenser) to connect but it's in and the truck is cool so I'll take it.
Looks much better than how everyone else is taking the fuse box, battery, and battery tray out.
This is one awesome way to do this job
Appreciate that!🤙🏻
Question how do you unplug the electrical connection?
Best tutorial yet.👍
Thanks!🤙🏻
Thanks friend, You saved me a ton of time! Finally air conditioning
Glad to hear! No A/c makes me grumpy!🤣🤙🏻
I just bought a new fan 5/2024 and the cut out is already there. Finally!
Where did you order yours from?
Maybe they watched the video!🤣 glad your A/C is back in action! 🤙🏻
@@mariagoode4025 I believe I picked mine up at Advance Auto.
Thanks so much for the tips
No problem, thanks for watching!🤙🏻
Is this the same as the 2012?
Honestly I’m not sure. You would have to compare the two. I can say a lot of the fan manufactures are making the shroud with the cutout now. Good luck and update us on how it went!🤙🏻
Mines is different. It's plug and play, after you take off the shroud.
it works, but removing the battery and moving the fuse box still helps and only add a couple minutes to the job. doing both makes this super simple and frustration free (by that I mean there is still all sorts of fenagling, twisting, pulling, prying, ect)
Thanks for watching!🤙🏻
I just watched and replaced no problem thanks much better than other videos
Thanks for watching! Glad to help!
Thank you
05 Ram be chilling now 😎 Thanks for video 👍🏻👍🏻 And you gained a subscriber
Thanks for watching! Glad to help!
Looks like by you removing that support bracket you were able to move everything back abit vs having to take the battery out and tray correct?
Yes, allows you to get it in and out with a lot less twisting and anger! Lol 🤙🏻
Dope tip man! Looks way easier than having to take all that stuff out.
To tilt the top bar out, do the main radiator top and lower bolt also have to come out no? Otherwise that stops the bar rolling out forward?
Just did this job myself. Took me more than 20 min though. Yes the radiator bolt has to come off.
What keeps TH-cam on my phone. Lol. Great tips!!
Staying cool 😎 all summer long! ☀️
there are a total of 6 bolts that are attached not 2
Thanks! I really wish I had recorded the video while I did the repair and not just a recap. Must have misspoke. Thanks for watching! DIG
The cutting was just what I was looking for 🫡🫡
