Carl another simple turning project for me to copy of yours. I will have to get some of the threaded rings ordered. You are an amazing woodturner! Thank you Carl!
Nice little boxes, Carl. It's funny you mentioned the basket illusion. When I first saw the beading tool, I was waiting for it but you only did one bead. Bill
Lovely looking Pill Box Carl. I have just watch Bruce Jordan Woodwerx, use a bigger version of the threaded inset. They look really great. Take care Carl. Cheers, Huw
Neat, you inspired me to continue woodworking in highschool. Which I have one more year of lathe access. I have made stripped pen and pencils with pennstate parts. I made bowls, and want to try and make some mushroom style things like you’ve done. Ive made nearly 300$ and have gotten 700$ in orders recently from my school itself. Ive even been able to see and turned my own african padauk pen. Im not sure if I will continue after highschool or not. But its been an experience. Keep on what your doing. Thank you.
Great project Carl ….. I’ve been thinking about doing a ring box for a keepsake and the thread inserts would be great! I was thinking about leaving a post in the center of the bottom of the box for the ring to slip onto …. What do you think?
Hello Carl - I enjoy your turning videos, and have a question about your walnut oil finish: do you you use a straight walnut oil (from grocery stores) or is it a mixture that you have developed? Or possibly one of the commercial walnut oils available from woodturning catalogs? Thanks, Jim M.
Never stop Carl! The 10,000-hour rule was invented by Malcolm Gladwell who stated that, 'Researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true expertise: 10,000 hours 😁 Another beautiful project! Love the walnut button too!!
I'm not sure what you mean? I always use whatever works best for the project. Here's a link to last weeks video, if you only want to see gouges..., th-cam.com/video/CD0fhw4xiSM/w-d-xo.html The whole point of our channel is to educate people, so what you refer to as "traditional" gouges are not. I know people like to call todays turning chisels "traditional" tools to make it seem special, but they're just gouges.
The issue you have is called "non-linear Thinking " and its a trait of above average intelligence or IQ. Which in today's wokeness is 2 different things lol 😆
Carl, nice work. Love the threaded ring idea. Where can I find those rings?

Thank you buddy!! Boxes are still my favorite thing to turn. so I'm creeping up on those 10,000 hours ;)
Will the larger pill box be on your Etsy store page?
Sorry Amy, Robin is keeping these. :)
Where can I get the threaded inserts
Awesome as always Carl! #belikecarl
Thank you brother!!
I wonder how many newbies to your channel wondered why you used mustard to put the walnut on the top of the box! 😆

@@CarlJacobson Thank you Carl. I found the site.
Disappointed that you seem to have pretty much abandoned traditional turning chisels.
