Partnership For a Drug Free America PSA at 7:39-yikes..reminded me of the "empty pool trick" scene from the classic 70s movie "Massacre At Central High" HIV/AIDS PSA @ 9:26-If that doesn't get the point across i don't know what will 13:15-"GUARD!! I WANT A DIFFERENT CELL!!" lol
Teal Chastain I guess that was their strategy to stop drug use; if they scare the shit out of you, it'll keep you from using drugs. I doubt it worked very well.
They've been killing it again, lately. I used to stay away from their food for years because I would always get sick, but I really love their Honey BBQ Wings, fries, and Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pizza with Honey BBQ glaze on top with Pretzel Crust :)
I miss the old pizza hut too, those large red cups that you could fit a 2 liters worth of pop , sausages the size of a grown man's thumb on meat lovers pizza
The "W" might have been a local weather warning, and I see that's already been covered, so let's just say a special titled "Whitney Houston This Is My Life" was a bit of foreshadowing on ABC's part.
Wow lot of commercials . The jcpenney commerical I like was cool . And the Cdc aids commercials . I have a broschure from them . I picked up in a barbershop . I felt sorry for the boy who doesn't wanna hang out with his friends because he was smoking marijuana. If his parents walked in and catch him doing that , he will be grounded. The only psa s I remember is the girl who dives into a empity pool which was short. And the national institute of drug abuse aids another way drugs can kill commerical as well . The anti drug from the partnership for a drug free america I didn't see growing up is about smoking crack and getting sent to jail . And the song was called the in crowd by dobie gray. I hope and pray they found a cure for Aids someday.
I guess ABC decided to burn off some of Clint Eastwood's big flops around this time. The Toyata ad shows the highs and lows of Hollywood as within a few years Paul Rudd would be starring in hit films while the other guy (Larry Poindexter) would be on late night Cinemax. But he's still acting so I guess he's done better than most...
Honestly, Paul Rudd's career did not take off until around 10 years after this. His biggest role in the 90's was playing the older stepbrother in "Clueless".
Who could ever forget that classic Diet Pepsi commercial with the late Ray Charles? Rest in peace, soul man.
On April 4, 1992, the W you saw on WAKC, meant Freeze Warning was issued.
That Nestea jingle brings back sloppily many memories. I used to whistle it all the time.
Super late, but...ME TOO! LOL I've been looking all over for it and finally found it!!
8:15 - Well, now I can cross "Clint Eastwood dressed as a clown" off of my list of things I never wanted to see, but did anyway.

That last one was CRAZY! Lawd have mercy he blew the dude a kiss --woooow!
I think that guy (the kiss guy) was on Oz years later...
Yeah, when I was growing up in Detroit they used to put a 'W' on the screen like that when there was bad weather brewing.
I think that's a warning sign for when a bad storm is in the area. WKBN used to do that back In the 80s and early 90s with the W logo.
14:05 Agent Coulson!
That PSA with the empty pool used to freak me out so bad!

I was scared of that when I first saw it too.
Paul freakin Rudd
The PSAs seem really hard core to me now. I am the mom of a teenager and I kinda want my kid to see these kind of messages about drugs.
Crack will give you AIDS!!
Apparently it also makes you reluctant to kiss on the mouth.
Back when Pizza Hut was the bees knees.

How come my pizza hut pizza never looks that good?? :-(
2:51, I feel you there kid, I like hanging too with a large pizza.
#12 was Pedro Zamora...who'd later be on Real World SF until his death

I don't get the joke...I want to get the Whitney joke lol
I might have messed up somewhere. There really wasn't a lot to say about
this volume! Nothing too comment worthy, but a good video.
I was 6 or 7 years old when these commercials and psa,s came out , 1992 was a time of a year as long as I can remember. It was great .
Whoa, that guy at 9:59 is trying to hard.

I agree - I see it as a starring role in a hit film (they didn't know it would be a hit, of course). Then the rest came later.
