I love this look for Optimus. The Laser Optimus was Movie Optimus and TFP Optimus long before they even existed. Even the original figure, despite being dated, holds up pretty dang well.
My reactions when seeing this figure online:
1) Laser Prime exists? *Does research*
2) Sheesh Laser Prime is silly.
3) ...
4) I NEED LASER PRIME NOW!!!

I really appreciate that they tried to spice up a mostly grey bot but it's just a case of the source material being boring to look at. I say this as a dude that willingly bought into Terminus so diddle on me I guess.

Didn't like this mold at all in the Scourge colors. Wasn't a fan at all. But in the G2 colors I frigging love it.

Great review. Well done, good sir. I'm not a G2 guy, but I am drawn to this one for some reason. I just love the way he looks and it's pretty well made. I plan to get one because of the positives you mentioned and I am making a "Prime thru the ages" kind of display. But yeah, I'm G1 like you, but this, this is a rare exception for me. :)

Like an mp tonka toy! They've yet to do anything I really want in my collection, but they've been turning out good products right out of the gate. A finish would really lift these to another level though, totally agree with that.

I have the Scourge (Archenemy) and while I do not care that it doesn't include the opening chest, I WISH it had the rear leg panels the help hide the thighs in truck mode.
Otherwise I have no real complaints...

Awesome Networking and that's very cool of dude and you sending to T2RX6. That's a a great collector community story. Fans Hobby seems to kick out good quality. The aesthetic is not for me personally and I love me some Chunky robots but is there maybe such a thing as to chunky?

I actually got this one and I absolutely love it thanks to you, Mr. Skullface.
I wasn’t a fan of G2 prime because of how they ruined him with reveal the shield and titans return but that’s just in my opinion. But this one is superior.
What did you think of hasbros G2 Optimus if you saw them?
ive seen it but never messed with it, so I cant say for sure
RTS or united with maketoys battletanker was a good set.
The only problem with RTS Optimus is that he's far too small. It's like they wanted to make him a voyager but didn't.

The giant truck cab hanging off the back in robot mode bothers me. I think it would look a lot better if i compressed or folded down somehow.
I agree, the only redeeming values is the paint, chrome, and MP size, but if you are going to make him MP scale, atleast hide the cab in the back better.
It's part of the character design, just like the big shoulders.

well I cant argue with that, just expecting a little more different. The transformation is almost the same as the Hasbro toy, just expecting an extra oomph that would make me want to buy it.

Thanks for another awesome review Skull Brother!!! This is not my favorite look for Prime but this figure is amazing. So far everything this company has put out has been top notch. I'm definitely picking up the Scourge version of this mold and if I find some extra money I may grab this as well. Keep up the great work and again thanks for all you do. Now if only they would make a trailer for these trucks...

G2 Optimus=Most badass and Über heroic looking Optimus to date, while RiD Scourge= Just a fucking repaint A.K.A. nemesis prime bullshit A.K.A. why you have to copy optimus and make him a decepticon too?! Shattered glass bullshit, nemesis prime bullshit. I have zero respect for reused moulds and repaints in general! Only exeptions the repaints that appeared also in cartoon as individual characters! There's no such thing as black, purple white or green Optimus! that's all bullshit! Do not try to sell one mould more than Once! Do new sculpt or die! Work for your money toy companies!

I really don't like the look of laser prime. The hasbron't one or this one. It's the only figure I have to date that I have legitimate buyer's remorse over buying.

Don't get me wrong. Other than the hood, the paint apps on this look great, but the aesthetic of laser prime just doesn't do it for me.

wya too big for being way too simple and boring, honestly doesnt look much like an improvement over how the original g2 looks , it is just an upscaled and more articulated version, for some that might be great but being so ridiculously simple to transform for how big it is, i rather get the spychanger scourge/(or any of the optimus repaints) -_- humble opinion
