Around December 2021 I got a text a text from an unknown number. The number used my first name, spelled correctly, which is hard to do. They said that it was a while since we talked and they really missed me. There was some other stuff written about activities we supposedly did, none of which I took part of(all activities named were not inappropriate). It was very unsettling, especially since I got the text closer to midnight. I didn't open the text until the next day when my friends were with me. All of them unanimously agreed that whoever this person was, was likely desperate and to not ever answer their texts or calls. Which I already knew not to do. All my friends were probably more worried about my safety than I was. Even my guy friends were flocking me anywhere I went. I blocked the number, but wrote it down just in case. It's very unsettling when things like that happen to anyone.
Same thing similar I have been called twice by anonymous numbers and one was when I got back rom school yesterday and saw someone random called me 20 mins ago. I think I should have a voicemail thing to hear what they said out of curiosity.....
@@chunerb7042 were the numbers the same? If they were then you can block them or try reverse searching. That's what I would have done, had I remembered. If they are not the same numbers, then it could be spam. Whoever is calling you, if they really need to talk to you they will likely leave a voice message. Anyways, stay safe out there
Whenever your information gets sold online (like from signing up for newsletters or websites saying you need an account to do whatever) you will get random texts and emails like this. For a while I went by Chara and I would get texts just like that from random numbers because I registered as Chara everywhere online. A lot of them will talk about how they miss you in that inappropriate way and provide false anecdotes. And with emails like that it's often sent with some random person's email. So if you ever get an email asking for you to leave them alone there's an explanation for that lol
Morals of the stories: 1. Never give out information to random numbers without confirming who it actually is, and even then be wary of what you give out because you never know who is behind the screen. 2. Block people that get too creepy or start harassing you in a way that makes you uncomfortable. 3. Be aware of your surroundings, no matter how safe you feel because you never know who is watching. 4. Keep all your social media accounts private and to people you know in real life.
I had to teach each of my girlfriends to NEVER share pics of an outing until after they were safely back home. Just say you went, don't every say where you are. It unfortunately clicked for one the hard way, when a stalker (ex) saw that she was gone out with friends, quickly found her address, and waited for her at home. She's a badass and carries tho, so she was fine, happy ending. But ya gotta be careful, ladies. Don't tell them where you are.

That last story is super, super scary. I hope the young women are okay ❤️ I can’t imagine how traumatising it would be. To anyone who is out and this sort of situation arises, please spend the extra cash on an Uber/taxi home. It’s worth to be $20 poorer than having your life at risk.
My fear for that young lady! I had something similar happen to me when I was young. No cell phone though. I worked a second shift job at an answering service, and had a creepy guy calling me. Followed me one night, so I didn’t go home, I went to a neighborhood bar where I knew everyone. Two guys I know stood at the door, but he didn’t come in. One drove my car for me, and the other followed to give him a ride. After that, security at a hospital nearby my job, and answered for, would escort me to my car every night. It is terrifying.

@@SuperYtc1 Also, imagine sleeping with someone that insane. That'd put you in a bad spot, considering they'd use them sleeping with you against you later down the road.
I remember getting a creepy Facebook message from one of my friend’s throwaway account. She used this account as just a login for her mobile games (you know, the type of games that gives you daily credits and prizes if you login with your Facebook). I knew that account got hacked because whoever had it was asking questions my friend would never ask for a number of reasons. Like asking when we can hang out, what’s my address, etc. The problem is my friend was on bed rest at 8 months pregnant, and the state my friend lived in, I moved from 10 years prior.
Am I missing something? If Alex's phone had no passcode (and how many of those are left that don't force you to), why didn't the guys just . . . text Gavin directly from Alex's phone? That would've aroused way less suspicion to begin with.
Yeah, I don't believe that one, it reads like a textbook creepypasta, with the final twist where the main character learns the guy he thought he was talking to was actually beat up and robbed.
I luckily didn't have anything as creepy as what happen to that last girl happened to me. I did, however, have something creepy happen to me one night at a restaurant. I used to live near this 24-hour pho place. It was amazing! I was there one night about 4 in the morning when I couldn't sleep and was craving food. It wasn't at all uncommon to find people there at any hour. At any rate, I was sitting at the only single table they had, and sitting kitty corner to me across the path of this very small cramped restaurant were these two gentlemen probably in their 40s. One of the guys, I don't really know how to describe him, but his hair was dark and slicked back, he had on that sort of smooth style leather jacket, and wore too much cologne. He did that upward head nod and said hello, to which I politely nodded my head and then went back to whatever I was looking at. He then said, I'll pay for your meal. I waved my hand and politely declined. My food came shortly after and it wasn't long after that that the two gentlemen left. The one that had been talking to me shot me the call me sign with his hands. I found this particularly odd because I hadn't given him my number and he hadn't given me his. I thought nothing more of it and finished my meal. Random weirdo. I then went up to pay only to find out that my meal had been paid for. Feeling incredibly creeped out and thinking that that guy might be waiting for me, I took an alternate route to walk home, and luckily never saw the guy then or again!
@@roo9642 don’t think of this as a nice gesture. It’s completely scary and terrifying and doesn’t help those just wanting to be left alone and especially eating alone in and of itself can be daunting for many, so this is just trauma inducing. It’s not a nice gesture.

Why didn't the phone thieves just use Alex's phone to send the texts? It's so easy to find out where people live or where they are right now from social media if you take the time to look through their pictures, videos and hashtags and find them in google maps. Vloggers especially dox themselves all the time by giving away clues like street names, cafes n stuff they've been to and recording their own street and house but they don't realise they're doing it. Even recording in your back garden can give a very clear picture of what it would look like on google maps and all someone has to do is spend time looking for that garden on google maps to find your house if they know roughly which town/city you live in.

Morals of the stories:

It unfortunately clicked for one the hard way, when a stalker (ex) saw that she was gone out with friends, quickly found her address, and waited for her at home. She's a badass and carries tho, so she was fine, happy ending. But ya gotta be careful, ladies. Don't tell them where you are.

My guess is that it's easier to track the friends iphone than some random burner.
Read this whole message and this just sounds like a nice gesture to me??
Sounds like just a nice gesture but whatever follow your gut, I guess you didn't feel right so who knows.
@@roo9642 don’t think of this as a nice gesture. It’s completely scary and terrifying and doesn’t help those just wanting to be left alone and especially eating alone in and of itself can be daunting for many, so this is just trauma inducing. It’s not a nice gesture.
