Pro tip: If you break the bloomery right after it finishes, the blooms will still be hot and ready to be worked on an anvil. Can save quite a bit of coal!
I’m still in the Bronze Age. I live in a peridotite rock area by an ocean with a bunch of olivine and fireclay all around. There are seashells for lime and oak trees, but I have yet to find borax or iron. There also seems to be an over abundance of wolves in the area, I have killed 30 wolves that have just come to close to my home. 😂
Maaan you and me are in the same boat. The entire continent I’m on is peridotite top to bottom, the nearest non-peri piece of land is thousands and thousands of blocks away across mountains, rivers, lakes, and oceans! And that’s just patches of chalk.
Its funny, during my playthrough i dedicated alot of times to search for cassiterite but had to give up and use bismuth and zinc instead. Now im fully established into my bronze age searching for iron and in my first iron mine had a huge cassiterite vein. I decided to make arrowheads with the excess
im not sure if its true or not, but maybe you can test it. i find when i break the top of the bloomery and then the bottom i get back significantly more bricks
I really think that armor needs some rework, is not worth going through lot of efford to make one when it got so much downsides. At the beginning i think to make all of them, but it is imposible
I kinda agree, but players don't wear heavy armor daily, they use leather one or at least custom-made by a tailor 🙃 However, surviving the occassional attack by a bear is much better in the heavy armor, and you don't wear it daily, so you are dead😂
Found a iron hemitite in a cave after a year, thought it will be just few.. I was so wrong. Had 4 stacks of iron bloom and I dont think Im close to finishing that one vein.. broke whole tin bronze pickaxe on it and had to go back 3 times to refill my sanity. I went from copper age to iron in a days 😂

That's true, thanks!

I believe the temperature affects wolf spawns. I think it has be at least 15c or lower

It's insane how much iron you could get with even a decent prospick reading, I'm swimming in iron ingots now
Compared to the act of finding thin tin veins for bronze, iron mining is a breath of fresh air

Interesting, didn't know about the change to iron which causes it to clump up into good and bad bits now.

I love when that happens xD
I just started playing and I’m completely confused by the temporal storm. Could you do a video or so about it?
hmm, I'll try to do something, thanks for your idea🙃
