I have both one miniature schnauzer and one standard schnauzer and they both love me. But if you are planning to get a miniature or Standard schnauzer you need to know that the size isn’t the only difference between a miniature and standard schnauzer. They both give the owner love and affection but in different ways. A standard schnauzer gives you love by protecting you and a miniature schnauzer gives you love by licking,kissing and jumping on you. But schnauzers are one of the best dogs for children, disabled people and adults that don’t have that much time for their dogs. Schnauzers get very attached to their owners so if anyone’s reading this I recommend you get one. P.S your schnauzers are adorable new sub here!

Yes they are, we have a male and female (brother/sister) same parents but different litters! One is a year and a half older than the other! Benji & Nala…..truly the best fur babies ever!
I've got a 7mo. old standard. She was the runt of the litter. Recently she has started growing taller and longer... not sure how much more growing she has in her but she is a real spitfire. We don't have the same issues you have, she is super outgoing... she adores other dogs but could care less about other people. At the dog park her best friends are a great dane, a doberman and a crazy shepherd mix. :) HOWEVER... she is so crazy it is so difficult to let her out of her run indoors for more than 15 minutes because she is just crazy. :/ She is also a super whiner. She whines when she is happy, when she is anxious, when she is excited. She kind of drives me nuts at times. But she is my little bundle of love. :D
Oh this is so exciting to watch.. We have a soon to be 5 year old black and silver mini and we are adopting a 1 year old standard who we will need to work on socializing. We have had our mini since he was 8 weeks old so this will be interesting. Thanks for sharing this.
I cant tell exactly how tall, or small, these two are. Could you have shown them from a side shot, and perhaps use a measuring tape or ruler to give more detail? One is bigger than the other, but I'd like to compare them to my Schnauzer to see if mine is miniature or standard.

But from this video all I can tell is Standard is obviously bigger, but because it was shot from above, nearly straight down, I still have no idea how big a Standard is. Is the top of its back higher or lower than a man's knee? Is a Standard twice as tall as a Miniature, or only 50% taller, etc.?

Thinking about getting a dog but not 100% which breed yet, I had a boxer in the passed but I'm also looking at a schnauzer mini or standard is the question, I'm a little worried about the barking side of things do they bard equally as much as each other? thanks great videos.
ours only barks quite a bit, the barking is to alert us of a rabbit or squirrel or someone walking down the street with their dog. He is pretty loud but we tell him good job (his job is to watch the house) and then shhh and quiet and he will stop barking.
Looking Down constantly pretty much negates any obvious size comparison. You should probably take technical videos with a bit more care with camera angles and such.
i’m waiting for my schnauzer to complete 2 months of age so she can come to my house, she’s the puppy of a mini schinauzer dad and a standard schnauzer mom so i’m getting worried about the size. curious to see the difference between those two there when they’re both adults! :)
@@kathiesimione9994 oh that would never be something negative, i was just worried about how much she would be able to reach on tables and beds so she wouldn’t be trying to eat anything harmful :) she grew up to be just in the middle of a mini and a standard schnauzer, perfect sized! 🧡
U can groom them however u like after all they are ur dog unless of course u make them as show dogs then I assume u have to follow the rules !! I keep my mini in a puppy cut and keep the eyebrows not as bushy so I can see her eyes
You do realise that the Schnauzers are three distinct breeds? The original is the Standard which was crossed with larger breeds to produce the Giant Schnauzer and then in the late 1800’s the Standard was crossed with small terrier breeds to produce the miniature schnauzer. Your standard is only young and still has some growing to do, he will grow to around 18 to 20 inches at the shoulder and his weight will be from 18kg to 26kg. Standards are thinkers not doers so really important that any first experience for him is positive. Don’t overdo the initial socialising with him and don’t force him to engage with people, let him approach the person. Everything in baby steps.
Plus walks with diff distractions def socialize them My husband thought since we have 2 cats that she was being socialized lol but getting her out and about into the world is what does it!!

Minis are usually under 15 lbs and just like anything mini …they are just a smaller version of the standard size

Yes my mini female will sneak a piece of my cats food but will hustle my cats away from her food if they try to snatch her food lol

My miniature schnauzer barked *a lot* but if you socialize them a lot from a young age they won't bark as much.

They are barkers!! I’ve had 5 schnauzers In My lifetime and all are barkers
But u can def teach them to chill on the barking … consistency patience and a chill tone is the key to all good behavior
