    ONE BIG SECRET about internal referral: for many tech companies, when the person an employee referred ended up getting hired, the employee will also get a referral bonus (thanking them for helping the company hiring a great candidate) - that's why it really IS a mutually beneficial process!! That's why you should always feel comfortable to ask for an internal referral - but ONE BIG CAVEAT is that different people have different comfort level of cold outreach. So be sure to show your empathy and be polite and kind with your message. Properly introduce your professional background as well as offer channels for them to get to know you more (e.g. ask for their availability for a 30mins chat). And be OK if the person says no. :) Good luck!!

    Bless the TH-cam algorithm for putting this in my recommendations, this was such a helpful and insightful video.
    I love that you emphasize the importance of networking with intention. So many times I’ve caught myself connecting with people just to see the numbers go up. Thank you for putting that out, it’s something that I need to work on.
    Looking forward to watching more of your videos 😁

    The referral information is so useful! I had no idea I could just reach out and ask people for referrals. The template was very helpful. Thank you!

      You totally can! And be sure to take in consideration of people's comfort levels. Always offer channels for them to get to know you more.

    Really interesting to hear about the differences with small/mid and large companies. And yes I always send a customised message when I send out requests. I think out of the people who have sent me connection requests, maybe only 1 in 10 will send a message, so I have no idea who most of them are or why they want to connect, very frustrating. Anyway, thanks so much for another super helpful video! :)

    I love this! They’re very simple and straightforward, what’re your thoughts on sending invites and doing personalized messages vs. messages (as they require LinkedIn memberships?)

    • @AonaTalks
      @AonaTalks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question! I believe when you send a connection request, for most folks you can attach a short note (without a membership) unless that person has a specific setting that doesn't allow new connection requests. It does has character limitation - so it's more of a message to "knock out the door". So I recommend to keep that message short and sweet. After you successfully added that person to your network, you can then send a longer message with your detailed asks :) I hope that makes sense!

    Great content! If I don’t require a specific request from that connection, I just click “follow” ! Think it works out pretty well for me so far, as I am here watching this video 😊
