  • It may not be news to any of you who fish Lake Texoma, but for those that don't you are in for a treat! This video shows what being at the right place at the right time can do on this lake. There was a point where I couldn't make a cast without hooking up. TOO MUCH FUN! If you have any questions I am happy to answer them in the comments section. Please leave a comment and a like if you enjoyed the video and consider subscribing if you have not done so already. Thank you for the support and stay fishing!

    Nice, so good not to have any boats motor in. That early morning summer bite is blissful. Lots of bait
    running shallow all day just have to be in the right spot for a mix bag. Been several months but need to
    get back and hit that evening blow up.

      Yeah I got lucky and made a guess on where they would be and looks like I outsmarted the guides and almost everyone. Super rare on that lake in the summer to get fish all to yourself, but oh what a blast when it happens. Thanks for the comment!

      Its a big lake so stay close to the bank until you are comfortable. If there is 15 mph wind in that lake its like 30+ on most others because of how wide open it it.
      Lure wise: Soft swim baits of various sizes, flukes, spooks, and chuggers. Good luck man!

    Hi. Im a new subscriber and ive been going through your videos. Great job. It really shows how much you love being out on the water. I was wanting to ask your advice: my buddy and I are planning to take our Hobies out on Texoma and target Stripers towards the end of November and we were thinking about Eisenhower park area and down towards the dam. (Neither of us have ever fished there) Any advice for a couple first timers in kayaks on Texoma? I assume that good electronics would be very helpful and also watching for birds that time of year? Also am i right in assuming that as the water temps drop the stripers will hold in a little deeper water? Would trolling at different depths be a good way to locate schools that time of year? And lastly, would it be smart to mix it up a little between live bait and artificals to find a bite? Thanks for any advice you could give. Looking forward to watching your saltwater videos. Im a hopeless inshore saltwater kayak fishing addict! Was in POC end of August and had a dream day in my kayak...tailing reds for probably close to 2 hours...and no wind. I wore my arms out. Ill never forget that day. Im still on a high if you can't tell 😂

      I do really well on swimbaits on a under spin year round on Texoma. Zoom flukes in the winter and paddle tail when the water is warm from spring to fall. Use bright colors like pink, chartreuse, chalk white, etc. Find out the depth they are hanging at and adjust our jig head weight or retrieve accordingly. I would look more for under water points or flats with structure like stumps. Also look for bait on your graph and visually, because the striper are often close by especially if the bait is balled up. I hope this helps!

    I don't think texoma can be over fished for stripers being a the top of food chain it's important to harvest lake texoma stripers to keep the population in order competition for food is the reason texoma stripers seem to be so long and slender compared to the east coast saltwater fish there would definitely be a lot more big healthy fish caught in the lake I agree there are alot of smaller fish but not the quality of the fish caught from the 80,s who agrees😢

    • @fishinwithphillip
      @fishinwithphillip  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are right in my opinion. The only thing holding all species of fish back on that lake are the striper because they spawn naturally and their numbers are high as a result. Trust me the guides and recreational anglers take literal tons of fish out per year and the are still skinny in the summer to your point. They also do not feed as often when the water is hot.
