After watching the Wham! documentary on Netflix I realized that Andrew Ridgeley's influence on George Michael's career was huge. He was the one that encouraged George Michael to continue with his music career despite his insecurities. The friendship between them was real, sincere and genuine. Despite George's success in his solo music career, Andrew did not envy him. Therefore it was even more sad when Andrew got this phone call about George Michael's death. The pain of this loss would have been horrific for poor Andrew. I was always more charmed by Andrew and after seeing the documentary even more.

@JPT "Do what"??? Must be rough having only two braincells that are constantly fighting one other... I sincerely pity You... especially Your miserable attitude.
In 1985 the chorus of this song, "If you're going to do it, do it right," helped to save my life and has been my guiding philosophy about life ever since. I have autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy. As with most lifelong painful and potentially lethal diseases, the great challenge of survival is not physical but psychological. Since November of 1985, I never waste five minutes on anything I don't feel 100% right about, even things that are relatively trivial. If I do anything I do it right and that has been true for over 30 years. I don't think I would have survived this disease without it. I thought so many times about writing to George to tell him what his song did for me, but I thought he got so much fan mail he'd probably never even read it. Now I wish to the bottom of my heart that I had written that letter. George, your songs were so imbued with love that even a f*** song was life-affirming and, in my case, life-saving.
George was great. He managed to engineer a big sound into his music production. I lived just outside of London in 1980 and saw his confidence and huge talent grow through the 80's and beyond. Talent with a capital T.

Imma say he was better then freddie in everyway.
I agree
Better george had a much cleaner tone than freddy
@@deanviescas1705 son diferentes no tiene nada que ver uno con el otro
This is a superb Motown pastiche, absolutely sublime. Just close your eyes and you can see The Supremes singing it. Genius.
"If your gonna do it, do it right". Great quote by George Michael.😊😊😊
My all time favorite, feels he's still alive with his band.
What a talent...he is sadly missed!! A great upbeat pop song...no matter what mood you were in this would lift you right up and tap your feet. Miss the 80s. Such a carefree time.
The best decade in the last 80 years hands down!!
80s were the best decade hands down how wish i i could go back in time
What I wouldn’t give to go back to this era. Best time to be alive. I love this version of Freedom. The horns at the end are amazing. Thanks George and Andrew. You’re truly missed Yog!
SOMETHING SO PHYSICAL AND SIMPLE AND NATURAL ABOUT THIS SONG!!!!! I CANT LOOK AWAY OR STOP PLAYING IT!!!!!!!❤😂🎉
I feel the same way it's just how you want a man to feel like that about you first lAst only one you ask
George was such a handsome man like a Greek God.
Ridiculously handsome George was.
Well, he was Greek after all...❤
@@CraftyGirlNC Actually he wasn't a full Greek. He was English/Greek Cypriot. Which is better i think. If he was full Greek he'd be an arrogant wankuh:) look at me i'm superstar don't even glance my way:))
Andrew was the true definition of a best friend. When I saw the Wham documentary he gave George his blessing to go solo. He helped George with his confidence almost like a mentor. I did not know they knew each other at ages 11 and 12. I thought they met in High School which is how most groups are formed.
11 and 12 is high school age
the documentary really changed everything for me. I had no idea of what WHAM really was, I was young then. Watching it was so poignant, there is truly no talent like George - but without Andrew, the world wouldn't have had George. A BEAUTIFUL documentary!
Bawled my eyes. Pure talent. Miss the 80's. Gen X.
Hey! Could you tell me which documentary you are talking about?
@RossBg98 It's "wham!" on Netflix.
He had no clue how much he was loved, did he? Not just for his music, or his looks, but his humor, his generosity, his kindness.
This is my favorite song by Wham. It also is on my list of all time favorite songs. George Micheal was soooo talented. What a gift he was. Miss you. RIP
Im sure we all miss George Michael. He was so talented.
🕊 Phenomenal Talent 🍃
🕊 Magical Charm 🍃
This song is so upbeat and catchy. Its brilliance is undeniable.
Rip George. You songs will never ever vanish from this world. What a voice you had. We will always cherish the good part of your life. Miss you yog
I am 70 and I hope I see George in heaven later !! What a treasure he was !!
@@wendylecker6937 I certainly will....just a gem of a person! Kind and made us all happy..
His music lives on
Few artists ever put their heart, soul & guts into the music. Rest in peace
I always enjoyed WHAM! and George Michael's music in the 80s. But it is only in recent years that I have begun to appreciate just how good his voice was. The fact that he could keep up in a duet with Aretha Franklin says it all. So sad he was gone too soon.
To this day George has that voice to make you Swoon... 😀 He will always be one of my favourite music artists. So blast this song as loud as you can, and dance like there is no tomorrow.
I love George Michael songs!! George Michael is the greatest singer in the world!! George Michael's voice is unbelievable I love listen to George Michael's music over and over and over again!! God-bless George Michael may he rest in peace And God-bless his family We love you Always and forever!!❤🙏😇✝️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌝🥰
@JPT
"Do what"???
Must be rough having only two braincells that are constantly fighting one other...
I sincerely pity You... especially Your miserable attitude.
Ok, take me back to the 80's immediately or take me out of this life...I've had enough.
I get it, really do.😢❤
R.I.P. Thank you for allowing us to grow up with you. Your performances, and talent will be missed ooxxoo!
George, your songs were so imbued with love that even a f*** song was life-affirming and, in my case, life-saving.
incredible voice gorgeous George Michael.
More than 40 years have passed and still going on. Endless music
Miss that voice. Powerful hits every note crisp and effortlessly. Not many artists who can truly sing anymore
....or write, arrange, produce and perform their own songs!
Hue Nhuan, unbelievable talent, our precious George. He is so missed by all of us😢
George was great. He managed to engineer a big sound into his music production. I lived just outside of London in 1980 and saw his confidence and huge talent grow through the 80's and beyond. Talent with a capital T.
Hearing this song after so many years....what an unbelievable talent..his voice, his energy...simply amazing! He and Andrew were the best! What could have been....we will never know...miss him and his music...true talent...sweet person...always caring for others!! Miss you Mr. Michael...
This great song takes me back in time, when life was simple and carefree, when I was young.
Wow, I think he may be at the peak of his beauty in this video.
He was getting there...... The next several years after this he was insanely hot I mean insanely hot
@@Janine-vi1xn ok, I'll check it out if you insist. 🙂
Check out the Freddie Mercury tribute whe he sings Somebody To Love. I love Freddie too, but George's performance is outstanding! They're both singing in Heaven now. Pray I get to meet them both when I die! 😊
No the monkey video!!
💯 AGREE!
I always thought he looked SO gorgeous with his natural dark hair! This video was always my favorite! Everyone seems so happy. So much fun! George is 🔥!
Andrew’s smile!
Deon Estus slapping the bass!
That bongo player is just jammin’ away!
Wish I had been there!
Magical!💖💖💖
I just love the way he whispers and squeezes his eyes shut at 219 , most gorgeous man on the planet , he was the best singer, performer dancer,he did it all , you are so missed George, never to be forgotten ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Unforgettable, magic, unique, great 80s...thanks for all, George
Great song. Along with the duet he did with Aretha Franklin my two favorite George Michael songs.
Simply incredible voice on this tune. Clear as a bell perfect pitch full of energy.
It’s really an all-around great song.
Love these two men. The talent, the energy...George had presence!!
Hi Vivi
I loved this song growing up and still do. Although now it makes me a little sad watching him in his prime. So young and energetic and to have him gone so young. He was and always will be a Legend.RIP George.
My mom passed two days ago. Before she passed I told her to say hello and give all my other departed relatives, furbabies, and George a big hug from me. :(
I'm so sorry for your mom! Wish you all the best.....
❤❤❤
The sheer joy in his movement!!!!!!! What a gift!!
thanks for all your music and courage.
Wow even the audience is in sync. I've never seen that before! Good editing and choreography.
I wish I could have been there!
Soul, funk, gospel and pop wrapped into one beautiful package. Love this. ❤️
Great song from the brilliant wham. Amazing voice, super talented artist. You truly are one of the greatest George. Miss you ♥️.
George Michael could have had any girl on the planet but he was not that way
thanks for the memories...RIP GEORGE
I am so so thankful for my parents. I'm almost 14 years old and I can proudly say that this was a song i loved in my (younger) childhood. I would always beg my parents to put this song on whenever they put the DVD in. Still love this song and George Michael R.I.P ❤️
So awesome to see the younger generation listening to this great music... Bless your parents for opening up that world for you.. Keep rocking it out 🤟
May I ask what dvd?
80 s vibes...the best time...❤❤❤
I grew up with his music and loved the Wham Days! A happier time in my life. Such a beautiful clear voice, RIP, you will be missed, what a really sad year
What a legend George Michael big hole in the heart the day he left us 😢
On Christmas my GF woke me up to tell me George had passed away. I was devastated.
Definitely need to use better grammar if you're gonna use the sentence 'George Micheal Big Hole' 😂
Such a beautiful man with a tremendous talent. You will be forever missed xxx
RIP George Michael (June 25, 1963 - December 25, 2016), aged 53
You will be remembered as a legend.
He's voice was just unique
