Hi everyone! I went to my first appointment today with an AO chiropractor and it was amazing! I went to Dr. Baird's today in Markham, Ontario, he was so great! I had the special x-rays done and he said that I have Eagle's syndrome, a congenital thing. Not a problem unless something is going wrong with your cervical spine, in which case Eagle's amplifies the symptoms. He is pretty confident that it won't be a problem once my C1 C2 are corrected. I've also got a rotated C2 and ipsilateral pattern issues, meaning on the same side, which presents as worse symptoms often than bilateral. I had my first adjustment with the special Atlas Orthogonal machine, lots of math and biophysics involved which was super cool! I also got a special pillow from him to try. Excited to see how it all goes! I'd love to hear if anyone else has tried this. Thanks
Wow! This is really interesting! Thank you for sharing! I suffered a subluxation in my neck, as a result of a fluke type of whiplash that happened, when a virus (GBS )caused my nervous system to shut down, and I collapsed like an accordion in the middle of the street. Since then the headaches the pressure in the back of my head and neck have been pretty constant, misalignments on both sides of my neck into my shoulders and a nodule building up on my right shoulder are all very evident. Certain points in my trapezoid area can be pressed in I find myself breathing better. ( That has been made worse by chronic fatigue, post COVID issues, that I'm being treated for) I have difficulty swallowing, no saliva and I do hear weird noises coming from my mouth and throat. So yeah I'm helping my medical community piece things together that are outside their mode of thinking. @@theTMJdoc NUCCA doc here, I figured I would respond. MRI, although a great imaging modality, tends to be slower and much more costly than x-ray or even a CT. To answer your question though, some NUCCA doctors are moving towards Cone Beam CT or MRI if time and money allow, but currently for practical reasons, digital Xray is still the gold standard.
