How come you use monitors and not standard ear plugs?

Mainly for more vibe whilst i'm shooting! Also I can hear if the lead singer is calling for something to happen more clearly and I can position myself quicker to get the shot!

how many photos do you usually end up with at the end of the night?

An average is between 1600 and 2000 photos which I narrow down to anything between 100 and 150 edits!
