    Great video! I love how you show the photo from the position you took the photo. I am shooting a music festival in 2 weeks - the first time as an official photographer of the festival. (I shot my first festival by bringing my gear, but wasn't official - it was a lot smaller festival though). I'm so excited to get a media pass and see how it all works. I guess the angles and what works is a lot of trial and error - we shall see! Your video definitely helped put me at ease! Thank you

    love these videos :) I'm studying to become a cameraoperator but besides that I want to get into artist and event photography. Right now I have a sony a7iii with a 50mm prime, im looking into purchasing a zoom lens. these videos are very helpful. I just watched another guy who walks around the venue with three cameras and has a fourth remote controlled one on stage etc. etc. bit too expensive and overwhelming. this is very helpful (and entertaining)

  • @Wartal
    @Wartal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm going this weekend for my first photoshoot festival music 90's and can't wait for new experience. I don't have any zoom lens only prime's 20mm, 35mm, 85mm and 105mm you think they will be ok ?

    • @BobbyVMedia
      @BobbyVMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eyyyy, good stuff! Good luck with it! I think you'll be good with the focal lenghts you've got! It'll be a bit hard without a zoom but I'm sure you'll manage, What I'd do is shoot the first song with the 85 / 35 and then use the rest for the second and third, for crowd shots use the wides and for people shots use the 85 / 105! You've got this!! Good luck

  • @jessyalens
    @jessyalens ปีที่แล้ว

    i love this video so much, because it gives great insight, I probably wouldn't get if you didn't make it. So big thanks for that! :) Why did you select some photos in your camera and pre edited them on your phone? Isn't there a loss in quality? I am just starting off with concert photography and I am trying to find the best workflow for me rn

    • @BobbyVMedia
      @BobbyVMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate the kind words! :)
      That's what I was aiming for when I created this video so I'm very glad it helped you out!!
      You're right, there is a loss in quality when I edit the photos on my phone, sometimes I do it because my clients want the photos as soon as possible, other times because I want to roughly see how the photos would look edited before I go home and import them into lightroom. Good luck on your concert photography journey! :)
