Thank you so much for being here and supporting my channel! ❤ If you want to see Part 2 of the A-Frame build straight away, head to www.curiositystream.com/kalleflodin and grab the deal to get nebula and Curiosity Stream for just $14.79. Part two is live on Nebula right now! 😊
I think someone is pretending to be you answering some comments saying to dm kalleflodin73 to win a gift. I reported the comment that answered one of my comments, but just thought I wanted to let you know :/
I love your honesty and transparency. "Yes, this video needs to be out there, so I can continue building my life." Not many creators are brave enough to say that. You have my respect, Kalle. Would love to visit Sweden someday, but now I need money to build my future, so root for me, please. Can't wait for your next video!
Kalle, it's been such a pleasure discovering your channel. Such a refreshment to see someone not trying to embellish the truth, and portray perfect life, yet a real life with both beauty and struggle. Thank you for creating and sharing with us. 🎬🌲🌲🌲
I think what I appreciate most about these videos is the amount of respect you have for everything you touch, from a piece of kindling to the massive beams you’re carrying to the site, from your girls to your partner, from the frigid Ivey cold days to your walks through the forest with blue skies and the pure warmth of the sun. Thank you, again, for sharing. You are showing me how to be more gentle with my environment, wherever that may be.
Design wise it looks beautiful. Few advices, since I built similar structure recently: 1. OSB is very unstable for torsion and bearing. I find it very unusual to see it as construction element supposed to "carry" weight. I see it is framed but I would definitely reccomend you to add more horizontal strengthening between triangels. For construction (weight bearing elements) beams I usually use pine wood. 2. Your lowest wooden beam is too close to the ground, moisture evaporating from the soil will fasten the rotting effect. I tried to lift it at least 50cm from the ground to allow air to circulate. Also I treated it with several layers of impregnation and paint. You could also just burn it on the outer layer. In my region (e.g. Northern Croatia in hills or mountains) there are wooden buildings 100+ years old, using the burning wood technique. Traditional construction technics can be a great learning source.
If you look into masonite beams you'll find that it's a respected company with well tested products. It will hold i promise. Then if you look into Isak Stålenhag, he is a seasoned lumberjack who also works with restoring old buildings. So i think he's got everything covered!
@@warghem might be, but still, I think it needs to be then supported horizontaly to avoid torsion. Regarding wood being close to the ground, like I said, I think it will shorten longevity of the building significantly. Which is shame, since building looks awsome.
@@Nefra2025 To be clear, i agree with your second point. And i also might want to cover the ground under so that the brush don't grow. Maybe @KalleFlodin kan clear things out for us? Anyways, cool build and i think it's great that you Frane are taking the time to share your skill and knowledge!
@@warghem yes, I covered the ground with geotextile, but air flow is even more important. Since wood would need to dry faster, and avoid being soaked with moisture all the time.
I don’t normally comment or like videos, but I think this needs to be spread through TH-cam like you said. There’s something so peaceful and natural about building a house or cabin in the middle of the woods. I think more people need this inspiration to get out of the city and go be in nature, even if it’s just long enough to build a cabin and stay in it on weekends or just when a getaway is needed. There’s something amazing about having somewhere to escape to for some peace and relaxation. Thanks for sharing this build. The algorithm worked because this is the first time I’ve seen your channel, and I’ll be checking out more!
Hej Kalle! Tusen tack Kalle🙏 "Who dares wins"
Kalle, I don't usually leave comments but I found your channel a few days ago and I absolutely love it! You come across as a really down to earth guy who takes pride in their work and that comes across well with the quality of your videos. Your lifestyle is so interesting to watch. I'd love to see you travel to other places where people live like this and capture how they live along with your storytelling skills.
At the mark 6:51 I breathed easily knowing that you have help. I cannot imagine working in the freezing cold and within a timeframe. I don't know what time you have given yourself but I'm very excited to see the build and completion. As Fazakas Andrea has said in the comments, we are very happy to see an inspiring and down to earth and honest TH-cam creator. From some of your interviews with your beautiful wife I have noticed that in everything that you do, from the projects to the lifestyle, you do much for love and for living. I'm here for the journey. Looking forward to seeing the next videos and future interviews! Thank you, Kalle!
I stumbled upon your channel recently and I've been hooked ever since. And not sure if it's you or TH-cam, but the auto translation shows 'thank you' every once in a while and it's just a nice touch 😊 keep the videos coming! 🙌
My husband and I build our home 40 years ago, before nail guns--hammers only. Since then I've enjoyed watching others build and remember our experiences. Quite the adventure. I enjoy your videos.
So glad to finally see this come to fruition! I have a project ahead of me when I get home tonight. My father in Law gave me a deer hide to try tanning so wish me luck with my TH-cam binging experience and hope I get a nice hide out of it!
Thank you Kalle for being so open and transparent with your life. It was so fascinating to watch. I admire your strength and tenacity to do a build like this in the cold and especially the snow. Still it must be just heavenly to be working out there in the fresh air. That moment you paused just to breathe in the cold, I could only imagine how magical that was. It's definitely hard work, but you all make it look easy! You all work together as a team and it's amazing to see this build come together. That drone shot through the A-frame was especially neat. This is such a cool build with the pre-fab pieces! Sure makes the A-frame go up quickly! It will be beautiful when it's finished...can't wait to see the future episodes!
Hi, from New York I’m not a TH-camr, but I read on somebody else’s channel that they advised the TH-camr to make a series of short videos so they could get a light which supported the channel more. Maybe that would help pay for your A-frame I think it’s going to be beautiful. I love the scenery. Good luck.
This is so exciting Kalle 🤩 I signed up for your Curiosity Stream/Nebula bundle about 6 months ago and I'm enjoying it so much! So many great documentaries!! You really can't beat this deal! Now I can watch part 2 of this A-frame build 😄
Oh and Part 2 of this one was so great. I loved your ideas for the future Inside look of the Aframe. I could really see you sitting on a couch with a cup of tea and watch out of this great window! Really great job!
Good evening! I bet you look back to the scene when you first moved to the cabin, laying in bed freezing that this would be a dream, not reality. Congratulations on this. I absolutely love the design and cannot wait to see how it looks when finished.
Watching this on Saturday morning sets me in such a great mood for the whole weekend. Thank you! I also got to admit I was baffled at first on how those glued on green pieces are enough to hold each A-piece together :P Can't wait for part 2!

In Germany many people tend to be upset about the weather. Now that I got in touch the first time with -13°C I got even more respect for the people in this region.
Kalle. The A frame is coming along so nicely. Some office space outside the cabin is a great idea. Will the A frame cabin lose heat more quickly without a flat roof? Will you insulate it? Will you be able to stand up in it / how tall will it be inside? Will you heat it with a stove, fireplace, or electric heat?
WOW Kalle This was such a wonderful experience to watch- That is so creative how its like a "A-Frame building kit" sorry if that's not what it's called- I am just saying what it seems like? I hope this goes viral and you get all the money you need to build your cabin- You and your girlfriend DESERVE THE WIRLD- you BITH are so lovely- I adore you both so much and subscribe to both your channels!! can't wait to see the rest- I would not have commented if it wasn't for your honesty and transparency- Sometimes people do not realize how much a simple thing can help- It feels WONDERFUL to be able to help in a small obtainable way! BEST OF LUCK- SENDING YOU BOTH LOVE AND HAPPINESS-
Hello Kalle!!! Hope you are having an amazing time!!! i watched this video and i had a huge smile on my face like it was me moving in there! i'm so glad that this dream of yours is taking flesh and bones!!! it seems sooo amazing! can't wait for the next part for sure! basically as i have the bundle subscription i will head there right now to watch the second part. You are making this dream of mine visual and this is sooo beautiful!!! much love and many kisses , Evelyn!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Congrats for the acquisition!! I would easily live in an A-frame like that one (double the size) hehe Looking forward to see the inside when it's done... I bet it will look awesome! Best regards from Portugal
Very good footage! I just stumbled upon your channel and I don’t regret it. Kalle, you are a very talented filmmaker! It is obvious that you know something about light, perspective and so on. Very much above average TH-cam videos. And having seen a few of your videos I started to really like you as a person, too. I don’t share all of your opinions, but you and your girlfriend are honest, decedent people and very likeable. We do live a very different life from the one you are living now, but I see why you do it. And we are currently remodelling an old house so I know about building and what it costs. I‘ve been to Sweden more than once, but never made it north of Uppsala. But you made me curious, so I will put visiting your area on my bucket list. I wish you very good luck with the new cabin and your life in the woods. Greetings from Germany!

Kalle, this A frame build in the cold and snow is amazing. It must be so hard. I live in South Africa, where we have very little snow. You guys are doing a great job. I’m excited to see the result. All of the best.
Love the build and the hard work you put into it. Can’t wait to see the finished A frame. I never saw your channel but came across this video and am glad I watched it. ❤
The design is very interesting. The structure goes together fairly quickly but is substantial. It’s well insulated and the roof is steep so the snow will slide off easily. I’m going to look forward to seeing it completed. ❤❤

@kalle flodin how do you stream the 2nd part? I have curiosity steam but it said the Nebula app is being set up
I also wonder, paid 14.79 but No Nebula ? How do we get that for 14.79 ? Only Curiosity??!!
How do we get access to Nebula ? There is No information or link egen you have paid ?

The weather in Stockholm is sick right now. Were i live outside of Stockholm its snowed more then 1 m in 2 days. Massive lighting stomes as well
It is so nice to see people coming together to help one another to achieve a goal. Awesome video Kalle! Stay blessed and stay warm!
Tillykke med dine 200.000 subs Kalle. Du er en stor inspiration. Keep up the great work. Bh Karsten, Dyb Ro
Love your channel and the giant window going into the A frame. Keep up with the great content and stay warm!
Good luck with your cabin build!
Awesome! Excited to follow along with the rest of the build 🤙
Looks likes it’s coming along great and what fun to help with the building of it. Good luck with it all.
BEST OF LUCK- SENDING YOU BOTH LOVE AND HAPPINESS-
Yes indeed, I was very impressed with the amazing Swedish quality that went into the build!
Thanks for sharing this with us!🙂🍂

Congrats for the acquisition!!
I would easily live in an A-frame like that one (double the size) hehe
Looking forward to see the inside when it's done... I bet it will look awesome!
Best regards from Portugal
Amazing craftsmanship Kalle! Thanks for sharing this video!
Min man och jag älskar att titta på dina TH-cams filmer och drömma lite. Tack!!!
Really something special with the A-frame design, a mix between a stylish future and a Viking longhouse.
I loved the beautiful wintery snow covered trees… that will be an awesome workspace.
Greetings from Germany!
yes please! can't wait to see part 2! those hotdogs looked great! that frier pan was great!
Hej Kalle, har først fundet dig på youtube idag. Fantastisk professionelt produceret indhold. Henrik (DK)
Congratulations on your new space. Looks wonderful!
Thank you Clay ❤ Yes, I already love it 🥰
Kalle, this A frame build in the cold and snow is amazing. It must be so hard. I live in South Africa, where we have very little snow. You guys are doing a great job. I’m excited to see the result. All of the best.
Looking forward to this series of the A-frame build! 😍
Setting raw lumber on the ground is brave. The I joist idea is genius.
So excited to see it all done! going to be so beautiful!!
Thanks for the video. This feels very welcoming and peaceful.
