The person who designed the engine service accessibility must hate mechanics. I'm amazed your language was so tempered on camera. I now really appreciate how easy my bandit is to service. Great job, very enjoyable viewing. Thanks for posting.
The old machines were a dream to work on, shims could be removed without removing the cams, some had a push across rocker arm which was even easier, modernity is good at stopping us from being independant in so many ways, points and condensers are king.
Imagine doing that job on a cold January morning outside, you mobile guys have nerves of steel that the folks don't see the extent of the labour and or effort you have to put into making a living working on the floor, well done Steve, when you get over fifty everything changes for the worse as the years get longer and the man in the long gown and the sythe under his arm is catching us up..
That’s how I am now in my 50’s For years I could service my bikes and now with arthritis in my knees and back it’s hard to even check the tyre pressures! I’ve had to sell bikes because of arthritis it’s shit getting old.
Love ur channel, I ride a BMW s1000r , put between 12 and 15k miles on it a year, not hard to do here in south Texas. Weather is great, warm and humid. I maintain my bike, basically oil, break oil change sprockets and chain etc. But would love you to give it a full service once a year.
Wish my thunderace was this mint. I use mine all year round its just hit 92k and still going. I do think bikes have to be ridden seems a shame not using it but each to there own lovely bike
One of my favorite looking fireblade gen. Quick question with so little miles i can see replacing the fluids, but why replace the plugs and airfilters? There are still basically new. Maybe the airfilters can start to Deteriorate. But plugs dont go bad just sitting.
Hi Steve, Really enjoy your videos and educational too for folks like me who like to try. How much do you charge for the service on that 2006 Fireblade? Im a Honda lover and have never encountered one that required so much work before you get to where youre going. Mind you my 2017 Africa Twin now needs the valves checked this year!!!! Stuart in Shropshire
Done 16k in 32 years, some bloke used to stop every time he saw me outside with it and would keep on about not using it, got on my moobs in the end, so I told him, yer when I bought it they told me I couldn't do with it what I wanted and I had to do what some tw@t who lived down the road wanted, he never stopped again 😂👍🏼. I do have a winter hack though...
I hope you're charging a mozza for this mate! These jobs are not easy and are very time consuming. I'm a motorcycle mechanic myself and put it this way, they need to pay me big to do work like this.
What a rigmarole to change a couple of plug's? Obviously the manufacturer didn't intend you to service it regularly, its a wounder the can sell them, if it isnt easy to service them?
I don't understand why you changed the air filters and plugs? I would have replaced all of the fluids and the tyres. Pointless changing the spark plugs, they're good for 16000 miles at least.
Love your videos mate, but whomever chose to include the scene jump cut spinning graphic, should be kicked in the nethers, lol. It makes me feel queasy and seasick in all your videos🤢🤮🤣 Just a plain cut is just fine, a fade out is fine, but the eye-wrenching spin is dastardly...
Are you suggesting he could teach them a thing or two? 😁 Imagine if everyone had a video with each service. How much would that affect your trust in buying that bike, car, if you could see the work was actually done instead of a rubber stamp on a bit of paper?

Wow that looks immaculate condition & well looked after great job 👍🏻
Love your channel love watching a great mechanic at work
Glad you enjoy it!

All the Hondas that I have worked on require the radiator to be slid sideways to remove, that saves removing that grommet support.
Next door neighbour; "I didn't know he had a motorcycle."
Blimey, would’ve been quicker to build a new Fireblade around some spark plugs…
Good morning just to say you are very skilled and talented man very impressive great videos 😊
Thank you so much
What a bloody nightmare job that is Steve, wouldn’t want to do that to often, you have the patience of a saint, top video as well 👍
It’s all experience. At least he’ll know how to do it again and what a pita it is!😆
I'd think after 18 years that coolant should really be getting changed also.
well done, you have just reminded me why i dont own bikes like this
It’s satisfying to watch everything be reassembled correctly. I would have 5 extra bolts😂
Respect for doing mobile service for living , thats must be a hard job. Like to work on bikes , but only in a garage with a lift.
👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍 it can be tough sometimes
Incredible condition bike!
That bleeding tool saves a lot of fannying about pumping levers... nice.

18 years old coolant? Are there any corrosion inhibitors left in it?

32:16 shows a nice nitro RC fuel bottle for refilling the brake fluid reservoir 😄

It was what the owner of the bike wanted. So we changed them.
@themobilemotorbikemechanic thats what i figured. Keep up the great work

It’s a 4-5hr job so that’ll give you some idea of costs (plus parts) 👍
@@themobilemotorbikemechanic many thanks 😊
I'll never complain about my 'busa again after seeing that. Terrible access for the spark plugs!
Could've done with that bleed tool a couple of days ago 😂 Great video though
Hi just came across ur video, great stuff. Indepth view.. have you a video replacing timing chain etc on honda blackbird? Ps just subscribed!
Not yet but you never know what we might film 👍
Why do some folk buy a bike and not ride it ? flabbergasted !! I've had my Blade since mid Jan and have covered 10 times that mileage

Maybe they're too busy doing other types of riding? Fnarr fnarr.
Thankfully i only ever bought GSXR'S so much simpler to work on than these. Absolutely hated working on 929 on Blades.
Watching this made me appreciate my old gixxer so much lol. They are so simple and well designed.
wow this bike is basically brand new.
I wonder why people buy stuff to not to use it.
If it's a GP replica i get it. But an average bike??
I hope you're charging a mozza for this mate! These jobs are not easy and are very time consuming. I'm a motorcycle mechanic myself and put it this way, they need to pay me big to do work like this.
You wont do a service? What do you do then?
@@jamesrowland3857 I don't understand what you're asking me? Who said I don't do services?

I hope you got the engine hot before you dumped the oil.

Part degrade over time regardless of use.
That hedge needs trimming
What a ball ache, I thought servicing my 919 rrw was a pain. Another reason why I don't like the new bikes.
👍
Sparkplugs don't in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. The editor will be spoken to.
Why buy a bike like that and not ride it!
You make decent videos but its unfortunate you have no interest in chatting with other mechanics about the craft.
😂
Sorry, too busy working !!
