Great!! I finally found what I needed after looking thru half a dozen half-assed videos with people who were in love with their own voices! Or something? This was short and on point! Thank you very much Sir! 2CARSPRO from now on!
This really saved my life today, I had wasted 30 minutes with screw drivers because I couldnt see anything or what direction its attached! I got some thin and loosely woven cloth, slid it in between the washer and handle and just started cranking the window and the clip popped right off. Works like magic. Before installing the clip again and for the future, I widened it out a bit with pliers so it wouldnt fit so snugly, and slipped on a short ribbon so that I will only have to pull on the ribbon to remove the clip. With the clip widened a bit, it slips onto the crank shaft easily and still locks fine. Im really glad you made this video, I rate it A+. Perfect method.
I just did this and it took less than 5 minutes, once I watched how to put the clip on correctly and found the washer that had popped off. The hardest part of all this was finding a replacement window crank for my wonderful 2000 Honda Accord; finally found one shipping from Thailand as Honda discontinued the part. Your video was the most helpful of all and my new window crank snapped on and now works perfectly! This was the easiest thing I have done in a long time, thanks to your very helpful video.
OMFG thank you!!! I've put one on, but never took one off so it was really irritating puting my new door latch on hold until I got the window crank handle off. You rock, man.
Thank you so much for this video! All the other videos made it look so easy, and it was not easy at all with 2 screwdrivers. My boyfriend popped this off in 3 seconds with your method! Prior to this video we tried another method with the screw drivers & he was hollering in frustration like I was just one of the homeboys in the shop lol I showed him this video, he grabbed a tshirt, and within 3 seconds had it off! Whew 😅 you saved me from Mr. Grumpy pants today lol he said you deserve an award for this video lol 🏆
Thank you so much for this video!!! I was reassembling my 2006 saturn ion after replacing the carlock actuator, and there aren't many videos on the manual crank windows. This was so helpful!
I needed to pop the handle on my '08 Corolla so I could remove the panel and lube the gearing, watched your video and it worked like a charm. Great tip!
Thank you; my car has the washer; some cranks don't, and this wasn't covered in other TH-cam videos. I was trying to figure out exactly where the clip would be: between the washer and the handle (suspected this was the case, and it is) or further in, between the washer and the door trim (this didn't seem to make as much sense to me). Anyway, thanks! You answered my question: the clip is between the washer and the crank handle.
Thank you for showing me how to do this on my car. However the problem seems to be the metal piece that holds the handle. Can that be replaced or fixed?
Thanks alot man, Yeah so easy didn't even need to pry the washer, did it on a polo one little pull and click it was off, actually the polo's clip is integrated with the washer so comes off complete and no loose clips then snaps right back on
Another nice thing about manual windows is if you lock your keys in the car you can slide a flat piece of metal down the door like a metal yard stick and push the window crank until the window opens enough to get your hand in the window to unlock the door. It works.
I bought a 87 Toyota Corolla replaced the window regulator but the handle doesn't seem to fit and keeps falling out . Should I go to the salvage yard and see if I could find maybe a larger handle ? Thanks 👍
How do you repair the internals of the window crank? My 1965 Plymouth Fury, passenger window seems like the gears aren't catching enough to roll it down
Thank you soooooooo much! I have a 1990 Honda civic sedan and my window crank is stuck, I'm unable to roll down my window. I just ordered a replacement window regulator already. Great video! 👍
Do all the clips have those curving ears so a sturdy cloth can hook on to them? I just saw the video, but was outside for 2 hours today with screwdrivers trying to unclip what appeared to be a c-clip with no hooks to grab with a cloth. Maybe tomorrow i'll blindly try to pin a cloth behind the handle, hoping the clip DOES have outward extending ears that'll grab a cloth.
@@2carpros That goes with the territory of changing out the door mounted speakers too which is another job involving removing the door cards.Looking forward to your next instalments as well as past ones!
That was awesome 👏 omg I thought I wasn’t going to be able Put it back on I know how to take things off or take things out but I don’t know how to put it back and that was an awesome video thanks
Nice one, simple trick make it easy. Now I just realize I haven't seen a hand crank window for ages! Curiously I work in a bunch of cars including my own (x5). It's hard to pin point when was the last time I saw a "manual". LOL 😂
I have a 91 Camaro that had manual window but I guess they tried to convert it to electric but never follow through and now my windows don’t go down and I don’t see the window knob on the door. Is there any ways to make them manual again
LOL. I was going between the washer and the door and to get to the clip. Duh. Soon as you said to go between the washer and handle, mystery solved. Tks!
Thank you so much bro! Thought I had to put it back in exactly like how I took it out… Your method was 💯 times easier…whoda thought it just pops right back in… 😆
Funny story, when I was a kid my dad had an 80s car, and I really liked it. I used to sit in the front passenger seat and wind the window up and down. Well, one day I was doing that and I broke something in the window mechanism, since the window would not move anymore. Well, fast forward a decade, and i'm 16 and my dad's old car is _my_ car now. Gonna try this to see perhaps if I just stripped the teeth on the window crank.
I just bought a 2013 Ford E350 passenger van.It came with no power accessories. OK. I find the driver door window crtank is about ankle level and can't be used while belted. It is almost necessary to crack the door to use it. Are there any modifications to make it more accessible? drive ups will be nasty in January like this. Any ideas?
I have a window crank on a 2008 Dodge caliber with no cruise control didn’t realize it because he let me take another caliber home because they was cleaning the caliber that I was going to buy and by the time I signed the paperwork and got into the car and was driving at home I noticed I was pretty pissed off but there was nothing I could’ve done about it
Great!! I finally found what I needed after looking thru half a dozen half-assed videos with people who were in love with their own voices! Or something? This was short and on point! Thank you very much Sir! 2CARSPRO from now on!

I watched a few of these videos and you’re the only one to actually put it back on, thank you for that

Thanks! I had been trying for 45 minutes to slide that clip back in. After your video I got it back on in 10 seconds.
Very nice! Thanks for watching!
I’m gonna give it a try
OMFG thank you!!! I've put one on, but never took one off so it was really irritating puting my new door latch on hold until I got the window crank handle off. You rock, man.

Thanks man! I didn't have a towel so I took my sock off lol
Thanks for watching! Very resourceful!
John Mitchell I was trying with a towel and screwdriver for like an hour until I read this. Took me 10 seconds. Thank you
Yeah I did too thanks to you
Whatever it takes,mission accomplished
I did with my t shirt. Worked in a few seconds.
Thank you! My husband lost the clip to my door and ordered new ones. Instead of waiting for him to do it, I watched your video and ta da lol
Sounds like you have a wife
@@reginaldofunez693 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Sir, thank you so much for your tip, it helped me a lot when fixing the stuck window of my wife's car. You saved my day.
Great, unique video. Well described and shown.
Please do one showing how to remove a door panel without breaking the white retainer clips.
Your video makes sense. Thanks to you I was able to reinstall the manual window crank on my 1974 Rover P6
Best video about removing this handle - thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
