@@EightThreeEight no, but you can effectively vote in a prime minister by focusing on trying to gain the majority in parliament, rather than focusing on voting in your preferred MPs.
Yeah, this is kinda one of my problems with the RTD era, they had a couple good chances to bring back the Brig, yet didn't. He only got a comeback in the Sarah Jane Adventures. RTD wasn't the only one who skipped out on bring back characters when they had the perfect opportunity. Moffat had the chance to bring back Ian a couple times, yet didn't. Class could have had him cameo. And Twice Upon a Time would have been perfect to bring back Susan! But Alas, these things, which would have been the perfect fan-service, never happened. Maybe some of it was due to health reasons (I believe both the Brig and Ian were both due to return in 'The Sontaran Stratagem/Poison Sky' and 'The Day of the Doctor' respectively. I believe Ian was meant to hand Clara the letter she gets at the start).
To his defense RTD did try more than a few times to get Nick Courtney to repise his role in Doctor Who, but he was usually in poor health at the time which sank plans to get him back in anything else but the Sarah Jane Adventures. More aggregious to me is the fact that we never saw Susan or Ian again, especially for the 50th Anniversary.
RTD wanted him back, but he was usually too ill. He was supposed to meet the Doctor in SJA but was too ill. RTD wanted him in DW but Nick wanted the Brigadier to die, which RTD didn't want to write.
She probably dealt with him while she was Prime Minister. He wouldn't have to obey her as she isn't the Queen, but she's got that humble dignity and practicality that would endear her to Jack.
I still say the moment when everyone is reacting to hearing "Exterminate" in this two parter is the best. When even Jack is terrified, and Sarah Jane Smith is reduced to tears.....wow.
This is my absolute favourite Doctor Who storyline. It's like DW had their own Universe, Marvel style. Seeing all the major characters the Doctor had met during his travels from 2005 all together is just amazing.
Zach Brown, ain't that the truth! It's like he has something against this particular episode and thinks by comparing it to Classic Who, he can have the high ground. It's stupid. I'm old enough to have enjoyed every single Doctor live, and still adore this episode!

Harriet Jones’ line at 2:22 is possibly her greatest line the Doctor Who writers ever gave her. It still makes me feel a little bit teary even now 😢😭😢😭. That line right there shows just what a marvellous woman she can be in the right circumstance.
Meadow Snowglimmer She survived the Dalek attack! This is in a new Doctor Who book that were poems! She jumped through her trap door and landed on a mattress and rode away to the beach.
Watching episodes like this makes me realise how much I miss Sarah Jane Smith (RIP Elizabeth Sladen). Imagine if Elizabeth Sladen were still alive and Sarah Jane made an appearance in a recent episode with the Twelfth Doctor.
I don't dislike the Moffat era, but The Daleks were pretty much ruined from their first appearance in it (teletubby-gate) and hardly improved. I'm so glad Chris Chibnall has chosen to not bring them back in the next series, they need a rest. No one cares about them anymore.
Dylan C he didn't completely ruin them. Some episodes with them in it were pretty good but at some point he just kinda gave up on any kind of plot thread of what they were doing making some episodes decent and some bad.
+Sinom The thing is, for me all the episodes with them in, they're either boring or there are more interesting things going on. Take The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang, for example. I love that story to bits, but the Daleks were pointless in it. I think they should only be brought back if they're the main villain, and therefore the main focus of the episode. Think how terrified Nine was in 'Dalek' and 'Parting of the Ways', and then fast forward to Twelve being totally unbothered by them, even joking around with them. It just ruins their effect.
None of the spin-offs got closure either, if Class continued at least we would've got a Weeping Angel arc, those monsters are perfect for a young-adult show.
I agree, this kinda thing should come back. The characters never got old, and they were always reintroduced in a way that didn't alienate new fans. Moffat definitely had his great sides too, but I think RTD was better at making a shared universe that never got uninteresting or overcomplicated. Maybe Chibnall could do something like this again.
After a whole season of people comparing Martha unfavorably to Rose, there's something very satisfying about Rose getting jealous that Harriet called Martha and not her ("Oi, who is she?!").
DWAkhaten1995 and yet Martha's reaction to seeing rose with the doctor is so beautiful. I think they looked like they were becoming friends in the tardis too, though they didn't get long together
I always disliked Rose’s personality and much preferred Martha, and Martha’s respectful awe that the Doctor and Rose were reunited always showed me that I was damn right on that.
Don't you mean Harriet Jones should have done that? 🙄 Because what you said makes no sense in reference to Sarah Jane. It was Harriet Jones who was found by the Daleks in this bit.
Martha has done so much for the Doctor and the whole Human race. I wished she explored other worlds because she deserved more credit then any other companion. Martha knew the Doctor more then most companions because she got to witness his true form in Human Nature and the other episode
I think Martha & Rory are probably the strongest companions in the history of the show, for what both go through. Martha lived through a year of hell that never was, on her own, while Rory lived for centuries as a Roman Auton centurion, on his own, protecting the Pandorica that contained the Doctor\Amy.
I just wish Donna didn't have to lose her memory, after this. It made me sad and reminded me of when Zoe and Jamie had their memories erased by the Time Lords, in classic Who.

The rift can (and has) sent things through time as well as space, so that signal would transmit from that point in the medusa cascade at every point in time simultaneously. Thats why the doctor could pick it up while he was 1 second out of sync from all of the planets.
What I liked about this scene is that even though some people hadn't met each other till then they all had a common goal of contacting the Doctor. I also admired how each respective show played a part in doing that so no one person outshined the other from Harriet Jones bringing everyone together, Martha sending the phone number, Mr. Smith connecting all mobile phones, and Torchwood boosting the signal through the rift. Harriet certainly redeemed herself here even though it also caused her demise. I hadn't liked her beforehand then.
The only thing about this clip is that it leaves out the minutes before that I think shows how powerful a moment this was. Torchwood just heard the Valiant going down, and Jack thinks its all over. Harriet Jones's voice tries to cut through all of the static in the worldwide radio chatter, and Gwen (or was it Ianto?) hears her and tries to figure out who's calling.
