To be fair Smith and Jones are two of the most common surnames in England. Hence why the Doctor picked Smith to be his fake surname on Earth when he needs to give one. - Also part of the joke in the title of the episode "Smith and Jones".

Journey’s End is of course heartbreaking to this day, but I also love the teamwork between all of the Doctor’s companions. lakura ryoukia I did once, said that the number wasn't recognised. Tried it again later and someone with a Scottish accent picked up, probably David Tennant!
"Oy, so was I!" "Nor me, and I was here first!" Jeez, Rose, it's not all about you ... You've known perfectly well since you met Sarah Jane that the Doctor has had companions before you. You've also met Donna, which means you're aware that there have been companions after you, too. Maybe you feel that you and the Doctor have had some sort of deeper relationship with each other, and maybe you have, maybe you haven't, but sheesh, chill out already. Can you please try focusing more on the important stuff that's going on, like maybe having to save the world/universe from extermination, and less on your clingy obsession with having the Doctor all to yourself?
I saw it more as an ironic joke. Martha was jealous of rose whilst she was the doctors companion, so they kind of turned the tables in this episode, without either character knowing
Wouldn't you be frustrated if you traveled all these different universes to get back to the doctor and stop the daleks and then you couldn't get in touch... when some other woman was called that you didn't know about... That's a normal human reaction... She doesn't hate Martha either she says she's good in the next episode and even hugs her in the tardis
2:40 literally my fav part. A. Cause music is incredible here B. cause they working like crazy making it look even better C. Sounds awesome hearing them all cooperate and interact with one another
crowdpleasa4495 Tragic character. She made an enemy of the Doctor without trying to do so. And ultimately, she was proven right. It takes being quite an unique human for even the Daleks to know who you are.
"We can get the whole world to call the same number all at the same time!" But Martha didn't put the UK calling code on the number. That call is useless past Dover.
i just love how when they're setting everything up, all the young people are 'typing' at movie-hacker speed while harriet jones is two finger pecking slowly at her keyboard.
The main thing I love about this episode is how similar it is to HG Well's War of the Worlds. It's practically a Doctor Who version, and it's a lot of fun.
I will never forget the first time I watched this ! I knew very little about Torchwood of the Sarah Jane show so I loved seeing those actors but the cliff hanger ending made me actually gasp ! A true classic .
I think the fact that Rose is back, after so much and even then she still can't see the Doctor when she's so close is perfectly shown in this scene. Of course she's taking her frustration out on things she can't control, that's what humans do.
it's that bit when the former prime minster talks about her life not mattering. you can see jack being so impressed by her sacrifice. makes any other companion look rubbish
This is one of the only times I didn't really like Rose; when she thinks that she was the first or will be the last companion the Doctor has ever had or ever will have. But at the end of this episode, I love how she and Sarah Jane pushed the Dalek.
One of my most favourite Doctor Who scenes of all times- the Children of time uniting. If only the classic who companions (and the brig) could've been a part of it (though in my headcanon, they were, sorta)
"Calling the Doctor" always makes me cry. Now, what would be cool is they have episodes where other Doctors heard the call too since it was broadcast by the Rift throughout all of time and space. Have future Doctors get a little bit of action in stories of their own.
I know people are mad that rose said she was there first well we know she wasn't the first companion but I think what she was meaning between her and Marta she was
"I've been staying away from you lot" Funny because there was a plan for an episode of Sarah Jane adventures with Torchwood involved. Kid friendly obviously.
"The Mr Copper Foundation" That's the name of the man from the titanic episode who was saved at the end, who had a bank card with a lot of money on it. :D
That is the most dramatic phone call in the history of ever.

Why do you think she didn't make any attempt to save herself?
9th Doctor: You think that's amazing, you want to see the phone bill.
Please tell me that I wasn't the only one who added the Doctor's phone number to my contacts and added a picture of the TARDIS as the caller ID!
Haha, I thought I was the only one. XD
***** nopes, you'r not alone ;)
***** have you tried calling it ;)
lakura ryoukia I did once, said that the number wasn't recognised. Tried it again later and someone with a Scottish accent picked up, probably David Tennant!
Cool!
Two best episodes..so much emotion, a good storyline and just all the companions!!! (2 best of S4)
"Oy, so was I!"
"Nor me, and I was here first!"
Jeez, Rose, it's not all about you ... Can you please try focusing more on the important stuff that's going on, like maybe having to save the world/universe from extermination, and less on your clingy obsession with having the Doctor all to yourself?
which is why i'm glad she is long gone. good riddance
Same here. Happy she's gone.
I saw it more as an ironic joke. Martha was jealous of rose whilst she was the doctors companion, so they kind of turned the tables in this episode, without either character knowing
Plus, Martha moved on while Rose became more clingy and annoying.
A. Cause music is incredible here
B. cause they working like crazy making it look even better
C. Sounds awesome hearing them all cooperate and interact with one another
Am I the only one that also saluted Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister?
crowdpleasa4495 Tragic character. She made an enemy of the Doctor without trying to do so. And ultimately, she was proven right. It takes being quite an unique human for even the Daleks to know who you are.
zoppie Got that right.
crowdpleasa4495 m
I hope so because that's quite sad
@@zoppie she made an enemy because she was scared.... and she killed aliens that were retreating... and look where that got her....
3:59 "Ok Mr. Phone, I am the Doctor! Lets hear that heart beat!
"We can get the whole world to call the same number all at the same time!"
But Martha didn't put the UK calling code on the number. That call is useless past Dover.
They were based in the UK... and Mr Smith just bounced the call off the signal posts around the world?
Universal Rouming. That`s way code is not needed
I think Martha's phone had universal roaming, (a gift from the Doctor especially) so no codes were needed.
i just love how when they're setting everything up, all the young people are 'typing' at movie-hacker speed while harriet jones is two finger pecking slowly at her keyboard.
"Mr. Smith... Make that call"
"Calling The Doctor"
This is one of my favourite moments in all of Doctor Who
I cant believe this string of impressive and intricate teamwork ends with David Tenant using a stethescope on his flip phone to trace a call
Ohhhhh my god the chills at 2:43
Damn that background music tho😂🤙🏻
The main thing I love about this episode is how similar it is to HG Well's War of the Worlds. It's practically a Doctor Who version, and it's a lot of fun.

The joke, she will never get old
I really hope whoever replaces Moffat creates more spin off series. Moments like this, where the entire whoniverse joins together was just beautiful.
+daleksvscybermen Yeah, RTD was brilliant like that!
I want a u.n.i.t spin off
And a jenny spin off kinda like a firefly/ guardians of the galaxy feel to it
well we are getting the Clara and ashilda spin off
+Micky Sweetman-Hicks some dead spinoff.
One of the best moments ever in the series.
Years have passed but it still gives me goosebumps
So funny because they are probably just typing random stuff on the keyboard and pressing random buttons on panels
Jack, Sarah Jane, Martha, Donna and Rose, not to mention Torchwood also. One of the most awesome episodes of Doctor Who ever.
I just love The Doctor's reaction when he hears the phone ringing
“Marvellous woman, I voted for her!”
“you did not!”
😂
I'm really glad that so many people cared about saving Earth that they helped the companions and called the doctor.
This still to this day. Is my favourite Doctor Who series finale.. nothing in recent times has come close to this!
Four Knocks is the end for the doctor. And there was four beeps in the signal. Nice Foreshadowing Russel T Davis
My favourite episode yet
OMG everyone’s there..I was freaking out when I first saw this
The subwave network, or as we know it, Zoom.
I love how they play Harriet Jones' theme from Aliens in London and World War 3 at 1:40, it always gives me a rush of nostalgia
"Yes, I know who you are." Greatest line in this clip
it's that bit when the former prime minster talks about her life not mattering. you can see jack being so impressed by her sacrifice. makes any other companion look rubbish
ferret83uk ferrevk38
This is one of the only times I didn't really like Rose; when she thinks that she was the first or will be the last companion the Doctor has ever had or ever will have. But at the end of this episode, I love how she and Sarah Jane pushed the Dalek.
It was more of a love for the doctor.
This was my multiverse of madness
loki: i have an army
doctors friends: we have the doctor
I love where the Doctor is going to follow the signal and he used his stethoscope to listen to it. Makes me laugh every time.
This was such a great ep
One of my most favourite Doctor Who scenes of all times- the Children of time uniting. If only the classic who companions (and the brig) could've been a part of it (though in my headcanon, they were, sorta)
Poor Harriet, this made me realize how loyal she was to her home and that maybe I should of forgiven her for what she did.
Yes Ten, you should've. Don't beat yourself up too much though, you was both right in the sycorax episode without seeing it.
0:21 Luke looks so happy for her to still get flirted with.
Rose getting jealous of Martha, how the tables have turned.
The original work zoom call
This scene always gives me chills... Love it so much. 👍😄
"Calling the Doctor" always makes me cry. Now, what would be cool is they have episodes where other Doctors heard the call too since it was broadcast by the Rift throughout all of time and space. Have future Doctors get a little bit of action in stories of their own.
I know people are mad that rose said she was there first well we know she wasn't the first companion but I think what she was meaning between her and Marta she was
but Sarah Jane was before Rose and Martha lol
Rose didn't know who Martha waz though.. So how did she know Martha didn't come before her?
the doctor doesn't always take companions from consecutive points in the timeline she could have traveled with the 2nd doctor for all Rose new
2:44 I love the music at this bit
I cried during Harriet's death too. I think I've cried more during these last two episodes than I have in the entire series 🤣
Jack & 12th Doctor will be rocking duo..
I love Jack in this scene: "looking good, ma'am", then the PM "Not NOW, Captain!"
He'll never change, God bless him!
Your mental disability can't help anyone. Take your medicine and be cured =)
"I've been staying away from you lot"
Funny because there was a plan for an episode of Sarah Jane adventures with Torchwood involved. Kid friendly obviously.
This to me was the peak of dr who. Wish it’d be like this again one day
"The Mr Copper Foundation" That's the name of the man from the titanic episode who was saved at the end, who had a bank card with a lot of money on it. :D
