Thanks for doing this reaction of this song . Elvis could make every song he sang HIS BRO. He was absolutely incredible because he done so much different music and he was so damn good.👍🙏❤️🇺🇸🔥👑🎤🎶🎸⚡️🎹
I totally agree Harri…for some reason this song has been sadly overlooked. It really shows Elvis’ beautiful tone, his storytelling. Definitely one of my favs. Thanks Harri! ❤️🔥
Thank you Harri for your reaction to Kentucky Rain, one of my favourite Elvis songs. You can hear his strong vocals and the background singers sounding so good. 😊🇨🇦
When Elvis came back from movies he came in hard. Suspicious minds, Kentucky Rain, If I can dream, and Don't cry daddy all came in a 2 year period. He was back on top.
he became one with the music itself, the way he presented each song in his unique style with his own voice stamp making me believe in the best storyteller I've ever heard. There is nothing like this uniqueness. There is such a kind of feeling of anticipation throughout the song and its voice draws me in into the story.
Another great song written by the late Eddie Rabbit. He was a tremendous singer-songwriter and worthy of a reaction. Try “I Love a Rainy Night.” Seems like a theme…
My favorite of Elvis', along with "In the Ghetto" and "Don't Cry Daddy. Please react to "Don't Cry Daddy" if you can find it. Oh, and "Crying in the Chapel" please. Love the channel!
Always loved this song and the dramatic swings he throws up. Elvis was great on these kind of tunes... definitely one of my favorites of his. The Sweet Inspirations backed Elvis on tour, be interesting to hear if they featured on his records too...they were founded I believe by Cissy Houston.
@@vickihughes5751 - Darlene Love was a part of The Blossoms and they did a back show with Elvis I believe, I'm pretty sure that she was not a member of The Sweet Inspirations :)
Thanks Harry for reacting to one of my favorite songs. I hope you will see the new Baz Lurhmann movie " Elvis" . Since I am a child of the 50's I am a fanatic. My dad would not let me watch Elvis when I was 11 years old but I still love him at 78. So there you go the magic of Elvis is still in my heart. Be Blessed Harry.
Apparently reached #21 in the U.K. charts, but I don't remember it at all. (Aged 11, probably just before I had my own transistor radio; I would have needed a 'Top of the Pops' TV memory, and I don't have one. Later, my sister had various 'Greatest Hits' albums of Elvis, but can't recall this being on any , of those either ...). It's lovely. Elvis in fine voice and a great story.
Don’t you love that though? How cool to be a bit older and hear a song that slipped by us in our younger days! I love this song. The video is beautiful. But then again, I love rain!
When my youngest daughter was 5 (she’s 20 now) she used to listen to my ipod. One day I came across her listening to Kentucky Rain with her headphones on & singing it out loud. I recorded her (it’s on my channel) and every time we hear it we think of that day and smile from ear to ear. I had no idea she liked it & knew most of the words. Her facial expressions & body language emitted so much emotion. She definitely felt the vibe, although she was much too young to understand what the song meant (i think, lol). Elvis was my first love. I was 12 when he died and crushed. Billy Joel came along soon after & saved my weary soul. I’ve never looked back & follow Billy faithfully to this day♥️🤍🖤🤍♥️
The great Chips Moman produced one of Elvis' best albums, "From Elvis in Memphis" (1969), which gave his career a major lift and contained this track (a #16 hit), "Suspicious Minds" (#1), and also "In the Ghetto" (#3).
Thanks for your great reaction to my 2nd fave Elvis song, after "Memories". His was the 1st live concert I ever went to, & that man could put on a SHOW! They rolled out the red carpet in "rock 'n' roll heaven" when HE got to the gates! Loved your reaction, sir!
one of my favs. I believe I've suggested it before. The last hit Elvis had was a song called "Way Down" and featured his lower register and JD Sumner's bass voice
"Kentucky Rain" is a 1970 song written by Eddie Rabbitt and Dick Heard and recorded by Elvis Presley. It was recorded at American Sound Studio and features then session pianist Ronnie Milsap.[1] Other musicians on the record include Bobby Wood on piano, Bobby Emmons on organ, Reggie Young on guitar, Tommy Cogbill on bass and Gene Chrisman on drums.[2] The song and session was produced by Felton Jarvis (RCA Victor) and Chips Moman (American Sound Studio of Memphis). It was certified Gold by the RIAA, signifying United States sales of more than a million copies. It peaked at 16 on the charts.
The Late 60's Early 70's were still Good for Elvis. It was After the 1973 Aloha from Hawaii Concert and the Divorce that he really began the slide downhill, till his Passing on Aug 16, 1977.
The Imperials and The Sweeet Inspirations were Elvis backups since summer 1969, not at this studio recording sessions in January/February 1969. Backup singers were Mary and Ginger Holladay, Sonja Montgomery, Susan Pilkington, Sandra Posey, Donna Thatcher on the January/February studio records.
Elvis released this song in 1969! Ronnie Milsap played piano on it and so that makes it doubly better. If you don't know who Milsap is by this point, that's on you! 🤙🙌 🤛
He recorded this after the movies an on the back of the 68special this was a prelude to his vegas period just at the end of the sixties he needed to record again after the films and he did this in Memphis , I think its some of his best work.
There are hundreds out there only fans know . His 70s stuff is great too . Listen to elvis in memphis and back in memphis . He recorded about 60 plus sons in 69 70 which are outstanding
I believe the trio backup singers you're referring to are The Blossoms. But did you know one of the backup vocalists that toured with Elvis was Cece Houston, mother of Whitney Houston.
@Harri- I couldn't agree more with you about Elvis always having great backup singers. To help you out. He started with the Jordanaires and the black groups named was the sweet inspirations. Very surprised you had never heard of Kentucky Rain. Its one of my fav Elvis songs.
Reminds me of my mom 😇 RIP One of my favorites!!! Please react to I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water. Besides his perfect voice, the instrumentals are Crazy Great!!! Thank you! Two voices from the early days of rock and roll recently passed away, Ronnie Hawkins and Bobby Rydell, who Rydell High School in Grease was named for. Could you please listen to Ronnie Hawkins sing Mary Lou (live) and I'll Never Dance Again by Bobby Rydell?
Classic vocal performance from the latter part of Elvis' career. For his best song (IMO) of the '70s, give a listen to "Burning Love," one of his most rockin' tunes.
I stumble upon these music reaction videos every once in awhile. Finally, a TH-camr who has some very insightful and thoughtful and knowledgeable things to say about the artist and the song versus just listening to it smiling and making a clickbait video. Loved it and I'm subscribed!
If I had to choose a favorite Elvis song I would say, it's impossible, there's just too many great songs. But "It's Now or Never" would be at the top of the list, "Surrender" is another one, and "Little Sister" would be right up there as well.
It's been a long time since I have heard this song and now I am adding it to my playlist. It's a beautiful song. Adam Lambert has been compared to Elvis in looks and I see some similarities at different looks of his. I have been watching a number of videos people have posted of The Queen + Adam Lambert European tour that just started in Belfast this weekend. I don't think you have reacted to him yet. His voice is amazing. I love seeing people's first reactions when they hear him. I think a lot of people start by watching him singing Cher's song Believe to Cher at The Kennedy Center Honors. I'm enclosing a link of him singing his song Ghost Town with Queen at their Rock in Rio concert. They changed it up a bit and it rocks!
Same session or sessions as suspicious minds and in the ghetto. First time he recorded in memphis since his early sun days. Chips moman the producer and backing band was known as the memphis boys. Also same room and backing band and producer as Neil diamonds sweet Caroline and son of a preacher man dusty Springfield

This song couldn't miss. Elvis sang it. Eddie Rabbit wrote it and Ronnie Millsap playing piano. It is surrounded by greatness.
I totally agree Harri…for some reason this song has been sadly overlooked.
It really shows Elvis’ beautiful tone, his storytelling. Definitely one of my favs.
Thanks Harri! ❤️🔥
Elvis had more soul in his pinky finger than any of the rest of us have in our whole bodies. Ooof.
This is probably my favorite Elvis song. This song was a big hit in 1970-71.
My favorite Elvis song. I’m from Kentucky but I’d love it even if I wasn’t.
This is my favorite Elvis song.So much feeling conveyed in "Kentucky Rain",
"If I Can Dream" live he leaves it all on the stage.
This one and In the Ghetto were my favorite Elvis songs. Toward the end of his career/life and best quality music.
My favourite Elvis song by far.
This IS my favorite Elvis song. Has been since it was first released. Love it!
Beautiful vocals by Elvis on this song. Another song of lost love. Love it. Thanks Harri. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Thank you for playing that song and I think Elvis Presley was the greatest do you regret I have is I never got to see him live long live the king
I love this song! Elvis has so many recordings it's insane! He died way too young. :,(
My all time favorite Elvis song...♡
Another song that I love to hear Elvis sing! Thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️
This was Elvis’ Dad’s favorite song for him to sing.

I’ve always liked this. Maybe because I’m in Kentucky And Elvis
Such soulful music....wow!
Thank you for playing Elvis Presley, love It 🤩😍🤩😍
ELVUS SANG WITH SOUL AND EMOTIONS
Exactly, 1969 American Studio Sessions in Memphis
Omg one of my favourite Elvis song's 😍 SO beautiful and sad. No one sings like Elvis. The King Always & Forever ⚡️

My god this beautiful man inside and out just sings with so much heart and soul ,he reaches deep down in my heart and soul too
Yes Harris...we who have Kentucky roots have always been aware of this song.
Probably my favorite Elvis song. In the Ghetto was also very good.
Elvis never missed a note!
Those 3 girl singers were called "The Sweet Inspirations". 👍 Check out also this Very Beautiful song from Elvis: "Mary In The Morning". ❤️
My fav by Elvis. 2nd, In the Getto
My Favorite ! 👍 🇺🇸
P.S.
Came out in 1970 and went to #16 on the Billboard 100. One of the best... written by Eddie Rabbit.
When he sings about walking through that cold Kentucky rain...with the rain in his shoes. Elvis Presley made me feel that cold rain in my shoes.
Also for beautiful vocals "How Great Thou Art".
My favorite of Elvis', along with "In the Ghetto" and "Don't Cry Daddy. Please react to "Don't Cry Daddy" if you can find it. Oh, and "Crying in the Chapel" please. Love the channel!

Harri, for a song by the king that will make you cry like a baby is Don't Cry Daddy.

Just reading about the Chips Moman sessions now. So interesting.
Written by Eddie Rabbitt who had big country hits of his own in the late '70s including "Driving My Life Away" and "I Love A Rainy Night."
Also the song "Suspicions," which was one of Eddie's best.
Eddie Rabbit wrote this?? How the heck did I never know that. I feel quite foolish.

It´s a 1969 song, because it´s recorded that year at the January/February studio recording sessions.
The local radio station was playing his songs the day he died. I remember this song in particular that day. Long Live Elvis.
The session pianist was Ronnie Milsap who later had major hits like "Any Day Now" and "There's No Getting Over Me." He's worth a listen, Harri.
Ronnie Milsap also had a hit song with a similar theme "Smokey Mountain Rain" In both songs they're searching for a girl in the pouring rain.
Not a big country fan, but love me some Ronnie Milsap.
I loved True Love and There's No Getting Over Me
Elvis' version of "Early Morning Rain" is awesome, too. The song was written by Gordon Lightfoot. It's a great song I think you'd like.
My mum was a HUGE fan of Elvis, this song and Memories were her two favorites.
Was top 10 song on charts
One thing that never left Elvis to the very end and that was his voice it was amazing
I would give anything to have those 70s back they'll never be another Elvis

It escaped every one. Never got much airplay. Growing up in the 70s I never heard it.
Why this song was under rated I’ll never know!

This song breaks my heart, not because of the lyrics, but because Elvis died too young and did not need to.
The song was 1970. They didn’t get divorced till 1973!
