i Loved my 2860. topping out stock hpfp 374 wheel/401 TQ on e30. Thats plenty of fun. yes the Exhale kit is needed here and charge pipes too. great Turbo man Have fun.!
This is why I went with a BNR turbo...was almost completely bolt-in, coolant/oil lines included. And you can run the BNR2867 on stock fuel and max out the fueling on an e30 blend and make great power with minimal lag. I'm actually running the BNR3071, but over all the install wasnt bad. I saw this method of removing the passenger side axle, but i opted to do it by just removing the RMM and cold side charge piping and just rocking the engine a bit to fit the turbo up in there. 2860 isnt a bad turbo if you're not trying to make a ton of power or dont plan on going beyond stock fuel, but it'll still make it quite a bit faster than that tiny K03. I was FBO/E30 for a few years and it was a beast on track and back roads, easily competing with things much faster and more expensive. But I got tired of being beat on the highway when i was just having fun after meets...turned those tables with the BNR71 ^_^
Yeah I mean, knowing what I know now it wouldn't be a big deal to do it again in a day but this first install took foreeverrrr. I'm not too familiar with Focus turbo options, but if nothing else, the sound of the Garrett was worth it 🤣 thing sounds awesome.
