Studied psychology and neuroscience in college and heres what i think. When you initially wake up you would start stacking up all these little W's for the day. For example, you wake up early (W) then you make your bed (W) then drive to watch sunrise and go on a walk (W) and by the ttime the day really starts, you have all these little Ws stacked up already which act as momentum for the whole rest of the day and thats why you love your mornign routine is beause they give you so much fufillment completing these little tasks first thing in the moring and it sets you up to have a great rest of the day. Now... where youre starting to fall into this funk is because #1 yeah you are disrupting your sleep rhythem to wake up earlier to watch olympics which makes you sleep in an get off schedule, but #2 is you are no longer stacking up those Ws first thing in the morning. Instead you are gettign so much dopamine from the TV first thing in the morning that you no longer have the motivation to get up and check those boxes off your list which also give you dopamine. So the TLDR here is youre getting enough dopamine from watching olympics that your brain dosent feel the need to do any work and complete a morning routine.

You are far above the average but even the most exceptional people hit walls, feel frustrations and need some variety, even in their daily routine.

Hi Olivia! I am new here, I found you through your meal prep shorts. And then I kept binging on your training video! I love them, everytime watching your video gave me that pinch of excitement to go to the gym for my own routine. ❤🎉
I think between the lack of sleep, AND the intense training you do, your body is hitting that feeling of being overtrained, and the mental motivation of doing anything just goes out the door along with that, which is why even your morning walk is a chore. You'll want to do one of two things. Either get your sleep back, or even sleep a bit more for a few days with your normal training. Or go back to your normal sleep, decide what you can cut out of your training to 'maintain' for a week, and do that. I know you being a runner you have to really be careful cutting back on cardio, but you won't lose a thing with a short break from weights. Either way your motivation should come back. I found, that if I cut back on my training for a week when my motivation would tank, by Wednesday, I was going nuts not doing my normal routine. But I would still force myself to complete the week of cutting back. By the start of the next week, I'd be so pumped up to hit my routine hard. Personally I would end up taking a week to really scale back once, maybe twice a year. It always helped me get reenergized.
