You're quite a bit off on your USD to AUD exchange rates, you're quoting at around 1 to 1.25 but it's more like 1 to 1.54 (at interbank rate, in reality you're more likely to be getting closer to 1 to 1.6)

Nice finds and right at the start of the trip!! I love watching to see what it worth it to you to take back, because I’m really studying for my own move to Australia next month 😂❤ Don’t forget to add tax on top the US pricing though, that plus the exchange rate of $1 USA = 1.54 Aus, plus cost of an extra suitcase - he can’t bring everything back! Air Canada just quoted me $100 for an extra case of 50 lbs, $225 for each on after that. So much goes into the decision of what to take overseas, don’t be too hard on yourself Matt!! And better luck on the coin tosses next time 😊

As you’re digging in the bins (like when u found the hat at the start) where do u put the stuff u find while you’re standing there? Are u allowed bring a bag to put it in before putting it in your cart?

Great video Matt, next time you go to the bins you should look for Build A Bear clothes. They sell really well in Aus but are pretty hard to find in op shops. I've noticed people in the US find them all the time at the bins (they just take them off the bears ) and they would be so light they would be really cheap :)

surprised you didnt get kicked out for filming. Filming in LA will get you kicked out instantly and banned. And long beach bins are near as good as LA. Long beach is Brutal!

@@TheAussieFlipper I’m just replying with this for viewers who go and film. Filming is a ban for life offense. We have a “privacy act” in LA that is placed bc of the celebrities. Touching the bins before you’re allowed is a ban for the day on first offense, 2nd for a wk, 3rd for life. They now have barricades around them so you can’t stand close if you bump the barricades you’re escorted out.
I live here in Melbourne Australia and I'm telling you the only place you can by stuff to sell is garage sales nothing ells, not even thrift stores

I know this is an older video, but so glad to see you find great items and having a great time in LA. Lemme tell you tho.. I think LA has the highest price per pound in all the USA. When I first wen to the original LA bi location, it was a dollar a piece. then it went to price per pound. But in the last few years it has skyrocketed(I know you think this is still a good deal but It was waay cheaper before). It's also gotten insanely competitive. How are you supposed to find the other person that has the missing shoe to duke it out?

With reference to the federal pen hat, I’ve heard that some sellers do not list clothingwear with government or law enforcement logos/branding, because it increases chances of getting your store shut down.
