As a 2/3 level player at GTs my first teams event this year was such a blast. I learned how big pairings are against a player of equal skill. Getting wins for a team feels all the better, and losing but getting points is also a great feeling, it’s a win win
My take away from the end part: how to win best sports, bring presents and hugs! Thanks all for continuing to do what you do and providing entertainment for us all. Couldn't catch this one live because it was 3.30am where I am, but glad I got to enjoy watching it after the fact ^^
Really interesting thoughts on take backs in teams. When you let someone off in a singles game you are only effecting yourself, but in teams you have a responsibility for your team that have gone to a lot of effort and expense to be there. Hearing that I’m surprised it’s not a flat rule for teams events
This is what i love about the AoS community. The most try hard part of it are still a bunch of nice people and there’s not a lot of controversy coming out of the event.
Love the idea of a video about learning from 10th edition 40k. While you're prepping for that I hope you get to play a few games of combat patrol. I'd really like to hear some opnions about how the new CP works, specifically as an entry point for new players and if there's anything AoS 4th could do to improve on it.
I have noticed that the volume level of your co-hosts is a little louder, compare to your's (and this case also your guest Tom). Any change you can up your volume a little? Thanks in advance Vince! Edit: you actually asked Tyler to turn himself down, which did not help as far as I could tell. Based on a little distortion I heard coming from him, it sounds like he has microphone boost on, which was too much. He had been lowder than you for a while now and so has Tom (your regular co-host)
Thematically, the wizard season here and the Underworlds Wyrdhallow sound awesome Mechanically, as an SCE player, I think it may be bad. Depends on what the new spell lore offers. The spell they demo'd gave yet another point of rend out.
I prefer doubles/etc. to teams. it changes the actual moment to moment game at the table, while typical teams formats is still fundamentally 4-8 regular games with some extra shenanigans beforehand. But. In both cases. Critically. It shakes up the social experience. You've got friends backing you up and comiserating, you've got some gentle ribbing about national pride, etc. By having a team of players it becomes less embarassing/socially awkward to commit to a silly theme. Being the *only* person dressed up as an orc can be an emotional hurdle to overcome. Being one of 8 people dressed up as orcs is much easier!
Thanks for the shoutout of my podcast Tom, appreciate it!
I've been following worlds for 3 years now and I'm so glad you guys decided to learn about it. It looks like such a great event!

Also, in Europe we play Warhammer in centimetres.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Have some experience with how the biggest 9th age team tournaments work and it sounds very similar.
Loved this episode!

The underside, tail end of some sort of manta creature is my RE guess
ANOTHER EPISODE OF WARHAMMER PAINT DESK
How actually did the skaven teams do?
Heard two of them lost 20-0 to the swiss
Also love the video.
What organization picks team captains?
It depends
In France it is the AOSFF (French Federation of AOS)
Yes, I believe it varies by nation.

I love doubles for the same reason for sure.
