This is one of the best step by step instruction video I have watched. Clear details on what drill bits are required as well as good visual aids. Thanks for sharing.
I use a hand brace and adjustable auger drill bit. I have two augurs that cover any diameter from 11 to 35 mill. Far more cost effective than buying fixed size large wood drill bits. I don’t recommend using a power drill. Brace and bit gives far more control. Secret is to ensure you keep the drill bit parallel to the door frame and drill slowly otherwise mistakes happen very quickly. Also use bevel-edged chisels to prevent damaging the surrounding wood.
some bastards slowly making a mess of my door trying to get to the current yale lock, so next time they can give up when they see the mortice deadlock. Thanks for the vid!
I’ve never done any woodwork and joinery in my life and was about to follow this tutorial to fit a bedroom door lock until I came across this comment and decided against following this tutorial
@@Cal-Capone The procedure and steps the OP used are good, just needed more precision and care when marking out. Give it a go, otherwise you will never know if you can do it or not. Just go slow and as they say, measure twice - cut once.

Thanks! Just followed this and successfully installed my first ever lock with no issues. Took a bit longer than the video though 😂

Just what I needed good Lear instructions.
Best step by step instructions 💯🏆
Looks like the lock block within the door was missed. The drill drops in to the door at 1:05
Thanks. Saved my money.

That door looks a little thin for a 5 lever deadlock one kick and that door with probably split
It's not a security door. It's just a domestic lock for a bedroom or similar.
In most European countries we got into the habit of sticking deadlocks in everything.
No idea why.
@Sbizzly if that was a bedroom you'd use a sashlock, not a deadlock
@@redshiftdrifter We saw the movie called: Shallow Grave 👍
Great video
Excellent. Thanks
Door was hung the wrong way around,he didn't drill through a lock block, and you shouldn't really use an auger bit.
Why is the auger bit not preferred
Poor workmanship.. can't use a chisel..
Fab vvuseful
Nooice!
Wow - is this the first time this guy has used tools? 🤦🏻♂️
I can walk through that door
No door handle 😆😆😆😆
Haha I just noticed this now
The escutcheons are really lose 😂
Shocking and bad workmanship
Poor technique but has the instruction needed I guess.
