- In this edition of Leaders Talk, CGTN's Zou Yun goes to Laos where she talks to President Thongloun Sisoulith, also general secretary of Lao People's Revolutionary Party. The president discusses the time-tested, all-weather friendship between China and Laos. He recalls his first visit to China in the 1970s and marvels at China's astonishing development in the past decades. The new China-Laos Railway has cemented this unbreakable bond and brought the Chinese and the Lao people even closer. He also praises Xi Jinping's leadership and expects positive outcomes for the 20th CPC National Congress. In addition, Zou Yun gets onboard the China-Laos Railway to get the feel of this flagship project and asks passengers their impressions.

Laos, China, Russia, India and all Asian countries must unite and continue on the path of peaceful development and prosper together. We must never allow war to stop our progress in creating a BETTER WORLD. May all of Asia unite to grow and prosper peacefully together!!!
Unfortunately there is no sign of Russia having any interest in peace. Hopefully Russia going bankrupt will change this. China is not a lot better.

All the China built in Laos are debt trapped but nothing more. Laos will soon become the slave of China. With the high speed rail way connecting Laos and China now completed, soon the number of Chinese flooding into Laos will outnumber the local Lao population. They bring more harm than good to Laos and the Lao government can do nothing about it. So sad for Laos and the people.

In western history they say the USA just emptied there bombs in Laos to reduce weight from the bombers and fighter jets, there is no mention of a war with Laos, rather a deserted area to dump bombs, you do hear now that it is an area still being cleared of bombs from Vietnam war, and that the western governments are doing the clearing slowly. Maybe you can do a program on this topic.
they been getting fund since 1980 to clear those bomb it is not western responsibility to the corruption of their leader to steal money instead of clearing those bombs. Obama gave 4 million every year until the day he left office. what did they do with those funds? they are so corrupted it isnt even funny. and this war started with them they invaded the royal laos kingdom.

This makes more sense for Laos to trade more with China compared to the U.S. where you have to pay extra tax and other interest payments to other countries with the hefty price before Laos products reach U.S. soil. So it costs more to export to the U.S. compared to China since there are already business and people ties going on between China and Laos. The U.S. does not have a business or people ties and is just too far and too expensive for Laos to gain any real revenue and earnings in the process.
Love to see President Xi travelling to Vientiane Laos by high speed train. Can the railway be extended all the way to southern part of Laos to link up with Cambodia and Vietnam. That will definitely be traveler’s dream.
