The only issue I have with that is I believe canon he is supposed to build Blitzcrank first and have him stolen before he converts to machine supremacy.

@@jessiehell5214 I think he went back to singed because singed kept his mutant axolotl alive. Axolotls are known to have crazy regeneration abilities so he is probably going to use its gene to prolong his life or at least dampen the severity of his disease. I think viktor realizes this too because when he sees the tube with the mutant still alive he says something like “I understand now.” I don’t think he is working with singed because he wants to it’s out of necessity because he knows he kept this gene alive
I had NOTHING to do with Viktor and i didnt know his lore, i was even surprised when he appeared as "Chemtech" in TFT. I felt like he was a relatively boring side Character in Act 1, but now i feel so hard with him. He literally works for his life while Jayce gets "consumed" by the politics. Really love his character and how he fights his way through the pain.
Tbh while I felt bad seeing Viktor dying, but it made me laugh with how they mixed up his scene when he passed out with Jayce banging that council member during that time.
One teeny tiny detail that I personally found as an awesome detail, was how surprised and in disbelief caitlyn was when she found out vi didn't have parents. Kind of shows the one of the many differences in the society.
Personally I don't really mind the lore being retconned for this kind of reason. Retconning the lore of a character just because a new one comes out is one thing, but doing so to make an entire series better is another thing entirely. Some characters have lore way older than others, and to tell the best story possible, adjusting the lore in some places, especially if it all connects the characters together, is great. It helps tie out loose ends, and even shape some characters that were undevelopped (Twitch (maybe), Warwick, Singed). If it takes a little retconning to add so much dept to this many characters, I don't mind at all, I actually quite like it! We're talking about a retcon that has been 6 years in the making after all.
I agree with this sentiment. Some people are a tad bit overzealous about retconning, but if it makes for better characters and a better story, I'm all for it. If Jayce was the same egomaniac here as he used to be, then I don't think any of his arcs would have worked. With lore this old, changes are gonna happen
Totally. I get why people don't like retconning but with an in-game universe this old with new characters being added all the time I think its unavoidable as new (sometimes better) writers are hired and the story adjusts. Plus, there's precedent. People have been retconning since humanity started telling stories

I'm not too well versed in Jayce's universe lore, but I feel like they're setting him up to get betrayed. He's falling in love with a person who's using him. In most scenarios the trope is to turn back to your work and forget about people. Depending on the timeline in the universe lore, he could be an egotistical ahole, we're just seeing the things that turned him into one. Only a speculation though, great video!
I second that. The romance with Mel is, figuratively, being seduced by power and dragged into politics - away from his original goals and also further from Viktor.

But it seems Arcane is going to rewrite Viktor a bit to show his more fanatical side after this hexcore saves his life and thus prompting him to start his glorious evolution. Makes more sense I suppose than friend betrayed me, so I turned myself into a robot.
@@ayami123 Heimer has been leading Piltover for 200 years but no actual progress has been made because he's strict. I'm sure everyone in the council wants him out but they can't because he's literally one of the founders of the city. I agree with Jayce for this one. That's no big deal for heimer tho, he still goes to the academy from time to time and later on je actually made his own hextech inventions.
I mean Jayce was in the right. Heimerdinger is inconsiderate about human's lifespan Piltover and Zaun is slowly becoming chaos while Heimer says "We should just do nothing" Cause Heimer thinks Piltover currently is already good enough for the next centuries.
So many hints pointing to owl man being Ekko. The logo on his clothes, the fact Ekko wasn't present at all, the red scarf, him recognizing Jinx' art, ordering them to take Vi alive, the hoverboards that are kinda like the hoverboard he made in one of the legends of runeterra trailers, the clock in the first scene with him with 5 minutes foreshadowing his relationship with time. So many subtle things, but they add up.
Nah I dont think its him, all his voiceline in LoR or Lol all pointing towards him having alot emotional attachments to Jinx,even had a crush on her. So when the owl man see jinx on the airship the reaction would have been different if it was ekko
I agree, regardless of what it meant, his first line being time-related is huge. Another big clue imo is the fact that all his little sidekicks we see in the last scene are young kids that Ekko probably picked up because they were like him. It also just makes sense that little Ekko would go into hiding after the events that happened in Act 1 being left on his own without Benzo or any of his friends. I believe it and I love it.

All the praise is directly being fed into Jayce and jayce should naturally be getting a big head from the attention. Viktor's unwillingness to show himself and enjoy things with Jayce should make Jayce angry and show himself in a more childish egotistical light but not the humble good boy he's being made.

The point of Jayce is that he's being shoved around by powerful egos and he's struggling to find his footing. I literally said to myself “Daaaaamnn… Heimer got did greasy”, but in all honesty, he was too afraid of taking that risk, reasonably so, but it he wouldn’t let his prodigies shine. He had something coming.
Viktor was 100% my favorite part of this act. A crippled man, beaten down into the shadow of his peers ever since he was born, finds a few sparks of hope. Once, when Heimerdinger found him. Once, when he discovered how to stabilize the hextech crystals with Jayce. And once, as he literally bleeds out from the shit hand life dealt him, when he stumbles upon how to harness the hex core. Desperate to save not only himself, but hundreds or thousands of others in awful situations like his, he turns to less and less moral means of experimentation, his life growing shorter by the minute, until eventually resorting to returning to his old mentor who he abandoned in fear. That is SUCH a good setup for a morally ambiguous character, one who could either turn out to be a gold-hearted hero or, more likely at this point, a highly sympathetic villain, one who we almost want to see win because we know what his cause is and why he’s doing the presumably horrible things he will do. I’m so excited to see where they take him in act three!
I think Jinx wasn’t baiting Vi, she was trying to prove Vi wasn’t back,Vi was dead and to prove once again Vi lied to her by saying “light this and I’ll find you” that’s why Jinx was shocked when Vi actually showed up, I thought it was really moving, Jinx’s not insane just damaged by everything that has happened, love her character.
I hope after Arcane, Riot will invest in more animated series. Just imagine what Demacia, Ionia, Freljord, Noxus and Shurima could benefit from something like this.
Jinx wasn't "baiting" Vi at all, she just heard about Vi being alive and remembered about the flare she got from Vi, so she went out and used the flare hoping Vi would show up to her once again(even tho it was unlikely because they made this promise so long ago).
The poor girl was traumatised into insanity. I feel for her. And she is meant to get worse too, so I wonder how that happens. In League, her eyes are pure glowing pink, so I wonder if she takes the shimmer?
We should also remember Ekkos relationship with masks in the shop. He would spy through them without being found. I agree that Ekko is the leader of the Fireflies
Or at least one of them. Maybe leader dies or something and ekko uses his stopwatch ect as a catalyst for his future (maybe as the new leader?) as I think he could be the firefly with the bat ears. Someone else here pointed out that he has an hourglass visible on his person in one of the shots.
Also, during the attack on the ship he pulled out some kind of stopwatch and I immediately thought "is he going to warp back in time to change everything?"
The part with imagine dragons i don't think is cannon at all. They are just there for the collab with riot for all the work with riot and music they produce along the way.

I like how almost every scene in this show is a setup to future plot. For example, Vi giving Powder the flare in act 1 and she used it in act 2 - leading to their reunion; or Viktor’s remarks on how Jayce signing every page is “a bit egotistical”, to Jayce slowly becoming a egotistical, corrupted politician. This show has so many goddamn Chekhov’s guns that it turned into Chekhov’s armoury at this point.

He believes he's just better than the others, that he alone can still maintain his honor and valor while greasing the wheels of the system to further his own ends. "I alone can solve your problems." I’m thinking that Jayce is going to develop into the more self centered “all about my work” egotist we expect. I think it’s going to take him essentially being betrayed by Victor and/or realizing the counsel is straight up BS and helping people isn’t really worth it.
I imagine that him and Mel getting blasted by Jinx would make him hate Zaun with a passion(which is kinda understandable since that attack happened right when the Council ratified his proposal to grant independence to Zaun). His animosity against Zaun is probably what's gonna drive Viktor away(remember how Viktor chose not to tell Jayce about Singe when they were on the bridge?).

His problem is that he wants to change things here and now. Something about fantasy races was that they all feared humans, because humans live the shortest so they work and are determined, the most and can accomplish much in short periods of time. A couple hints that the hoverboard guy is ekko: -he was holding a pocketwatch when we first saw him, tying into ekko’s time theme -the red scarf he wears is the same one ekko is wearing in game
you know, I haven't considered that at all. It ties into some of his follower's cards in LOR, although I am very interested to see if this is really going to be Fae, or some other completely new character. It really does make sense though considering that he hasn't shown up after the timeskip yet, but i guess we'll need to wait and see.

@@marianmiko8145 everything jayce does is because she put it in his head that he should do it. and now that they have been romantically involved, he seems bent on impressing her and doing what he thinks she wants. she just installed a puppet on the council by way of jayce. he will end up either making a huge mistake (might already have) or having everyone hate him, and she will get everything she wants without blame. Really well designed character. She is a side character, so obviously less screen time than Jayce or Jinx or Vi, but when she is on screen, she makes a huge impact.
I actually kind of like Jayce’s arc: he starts off as an ambitious (if naïve) inventor. Then, he turns into a sort of celebrity, which is clearly outside of his comfort zone. However, he’s supported by the manipulative Mel, and the ambition starts going to his head. At this point, though, he’s still trying to hold onto his morals; he’s not ignorant to where he could end up as a person, especially after socializing with the aristocracy so much. Even so, he finds himself put to the test by one of the very few people who believed in him. Mel forces him to confront the corrupt individuals he’s been inhibiting and rewards him for doing what he thinks will get her approval. This is when cold reality hits him as he finds out about Viktor’s condition. While he’s been playing politics, Viktor has spent every waking moment working, not just for the sake of science or profit, but to save his own life. Wracked by guilt, Jayce hardens into something that can’t be molded by Mel or pushed around by the aristocracy. Not even Heimerdinger can stand in his way as he adopts a dark mirror of his original philosophy: nothing can stand in the way of progress. As a side note, I really like what happens with Mel here. After hearing about Viktor, we see that she feels bad about her actions for the first time, and more so as Jayce falls from grace. She’s finally grounded herself and we see her for what she truly is: a hard worker starved for validation. In other words, she’s just like Jayce. Going back to him, I really think the conflict with Piltover and Zaun as well as Viktor’s transformation will leave him exactly the kind of jaded, egotistical jerk that we see in the original lore.
This. I don't know why everyone said Jayce in arc 2 is a bad character. They wrote him as a guy who from nothing get everything, and struggle to fit his new shoes. He still confused and try to find his way.
You couldn't of said it any better, exactly what I was thinking after watching act 2. If anything, story line of act 2 establishes a greater depths in Jayce's character. By making Jayce apprehensible by the audience in a sense. To which later builds up to the egotistical individual as he is portrayed within the original lore.
Pretty much how I see it. These events will set Jayce and Victor on their respective paths to be like they are in their bios and stories. Which may play out in another series.
I just think silco and jinx relationship is written so well silco treat jinx WAY better than anyone else and treats her like a daughter and the detail of every time he’s in the office jinx is always above his head and no one knows she is there but him and it shows how close they are because she was able to put a trap in the office that wasn’t noticeable
A detail I noticed was at the scene when they were at the play, everyone was there to further their own agenda, all the other senators were talking to each other and gaining connections and influence and even jayce eventually goes around making deals with all the senators while heimerdinger was the ONLY one on the front row seat fully immersed in the play happening, further showing how he's beyond all the politics around the city and eventually the reason why he's kicked out of his own council.
It's also really good to notice that Heimer is the only one who enjoys the present moment in that scene. There is no worry on his face, nor fear of his council members or others in the moment. He is genuinely enjoying the peaceful "progress" of his work into the city, and it's heartbreaking.

He still the only one on the present. Its ironic, thd founder of the city that only sees the future, lives in present and is acused to be in The past.

@@EligorArgentum even better: the entire Jayce/Viktor vs Heimer is about how humans don't live long enough to wait for progress, and later is about making Viktor life longer, but why? So he can spend even more of his time locked in a room, doing more "progress" for a future? The only thing we are certain of, is that we are going to die in the future, and yet Jayce and Viktor spend all their time looking for the future and how they can make the future better, without caring or realizing that the present is just as important. Damn, it took a building and six deaths so Jayce could start to understand that people could use his technology to do something bad
"Sisters...Can't live with them, can't stuff them back in the old baby maker" Love Jinx's personality. I was a little scared that they would keep her sane until the finale where she would snap from chemicals or something, so glad that they decided to show her full breakdown. She's just a very fun character to watch.
What I like is how they didn't make it so she just snaps and goes crazy at one moment. Rather they show you the results of her dealing with Vi "abandoning" her (and possibly a severe combination of schizophrenia, adhd, ptsd etc.). She also remains true to the Jinx we knew, while being depicted in a more "realistic" way. Instead of being just "haha silly crazy girl" she is shown to be very smart, but acts like the neglected child she was/still is. As a result of her upbringing she despises being seen as helpless and weak, yet she still seeks the protection of Silco and later Vi. She is still crazy, but it's not her only trait like in the game. Jinx/Powder has been a way more interesting character than I thought she would be. TLDR I love how they kept her crazy, but in a way more interesting way.

I feel like character's lore getting retconned is a good thing if it leads to them having a more substantial role in the world. Jayce's previous lore was good, but being a recluse scientist has a lot of overlaps with other characters and limits him to interacting with other characters individually rather than as a whole. Also, nothing prevents Singed from having been a piltovan scientist before the events of act 1. It's just not one of the (many) plot-lines Arcane has decided to juggle.
About the Singed thing, like Act I already showed us how Heimerdinger immediately shuts down studies on things that is potentially dangerous. One look at Singed's work and you can say the academy will say nope to that.
Wholeheartedly agree. If they changed my favourite character's entire story, just so he could suckle on the teets of a more profitable one I would be mad. That being said, I feel like what they are doing here is a lot more than that. Of course we won't really know that until the end of Act 3, but to me, most of the changes so far still feel like they should've been like that in the beninging as my African politicians would say
Jayce was amazing in act 2 imo. You can really see the gears in his head working as he is torn between Mel and Viktor or protecting piltover and playing politics and helping the undercity people with Hextech. I feel like the realyzation of the reality of Zaun is gonna make him devolp his vigilante complex and i cant wait for act 3 As far as Singed is concerned, the setup for him is almost non existent but thats kinda by design imo. His ambitions were sorta being kept a secret but im sure theyll give a massive spotlight in act 3
To defend Singed : He is not a main character, nor a secondary character in the series. So far he is only an important background character, so the story doesn't really have to explain his character for now.
I think the retcons are actually improving the story. Retconning is worth it if you get to tell a better story for it. Jayce is a lot more likable because of him being gullible and naive than he is in any of the games. He still has time to become the asshole Jayce in the present but I mean... I like this one better tbh. Also, there are big themes of betrayal going on all around the series with multiple characters so of course, Jayce is gonna get totally owned by Mel and I'm here for it. Let's see how that changes our baby boi.
I feel Arcane improved on Jayce’s character by making him more sympathetic. He’s loyal to Viktor to the point he voted out their mutual mentor Heinerdinger to save his life. His love for his mother and naivety with Mel really improves over the egotistical Stark trope from og lore IMO.
Well that wasn’t his only character trait he still cared about people and respected ethics given his reaction to Vicktors plans sure he was an asshole but he was still a good person
Mmmm i think most, if not all of that is just building up to the crescendo, at some point it has to turn. Can't say the Stark trope isn't overused already, but it has its place in this universe
Arcane is something I've wanted for the longest time. Well not Arcane exactly but some show that has to do with the lore of League of Legends. Arcane one of if not the best written show I ever watched. As well as one of the best choreograph shows I've seen. Each characters movement gives you insight on how one feels and each punch throw has an impact behind it. The art styles is so unique and beautiful and the atmosphere created is truly beyond a work of art. Also, attention ro detail is a really nice touch.
i don't expect people to come here and not know the show, i'm also trying not to give major spoilers, but beware anyway. yeah, i mean the plot itself is nothing too special, some "rich versus poor" and "both sides have good and bad people", sisters falling out etc. considering how limited they were as they couldn't just fully retcon the lore but also couldn't stick 100% to it (as that would be boring), it's very well done but the themes they're picking up are pretty nice. the madness of jinx being more than just "ah, i'm an edgy 16 yo who likes explosions and doesn't care for consequences" is a really nice part. generally, i was afraid it's going to be some PG-oriented series so everyone can watch it, but it's very serious and it tackles controversial topics rather well. and the animation ist just *.* but also the camerawork done, for example the flip when vi gets pushed into the ground that was also in the trailer is such a nice moment. it's a good way to make the audience feel the impact of everything.
Jinx absolutely did NOT “bait” out Vi. She lit the flare for some confirmation of her suspicions Vi was really alive. Love your insight. Very good video.
I really love how they portrayed the mental illness of Jinx, gave me the same vibes as the game Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. Her always seeing things and hearing voices, sometimes causing good things, like warning her in a fight but most of the time it's just gnawing at her mental state.
Yeah, exactly! Couldn’t said it better myself. The way they show how the guilt she feels is eating her up everyday is amazing. It’s in the most subtle things too like a facial expression or a look in her eyes. Very well done.
Yeah, I disagreed with Necrit on how he thinks it should’ve showed the build up. She’s not a born psychopath but instead seems to struggle with ptsd induced psychosis. I’m not a psychologist so forgive me if I used the wrong terminology but it’s best shot I could take at it.
Yeah I feel like there isn't any other cinematic purpose for Vi seeing Cait in the brothel with the woman and being happy about it other than to show that Cait is into women and that Vi now thinks on some level that she has a chance.
I doubt anything is ACTUALLY gonna come of it, because it’s Riot and they don’t have the BEST track record with LGBT+ champions but yeah, the writers knew what they were doing.
I love Viktor so much. A man with purpose and heart confronted by his own mortality. He is literally working 24/7 to achieve big results in the little time he has left and I am sure he would do so even if he would't suffer a terminal illness. And I also love all the little fun facial expressions he has throughout the series.

And in ekko splash art in runterra, all his allies were using hover boards and their hairstyles are vibrant green, pink like that. So, I think there is 80 chance that it might be ekko😳
Just found Another "probable" hint that Ekko might has something related to The Fireflies,, ACT I, episode 2 after 10 minutes when Ekko helped the team escape from the arcade, they used A Pipe, kinda remembered the intro to fireflies in Act 2 at beginning and at the Vi-Meet-JInx scene :sweatsmile;
It does seem likely to be Ekko, but I just gotta say that the mask he wears isn't all that similar to the mask in Benzo's shop. Unless people are talking about a different mask than the one Ekko looked through to spy on Vander and Grayson

I believe Jayce had a potential subplot you missed. In Arc 1 and a fair amount of Arc 2 Jayce has ambitions and goals he wants to accomplish, but it isn't until someone gives him permission or the assistance to move forward with those ambitions. A perfect example of this is when he decides to hold off the reveal of the Hex gemstone because Heimerdinger advised him to do so. After he became a member of the counsel, much of his early interactions with Mel were to show him that he has to stand by any decisions he makes to survive amongst the others. He needs to assert himself. This comes to a head with his decisions to ready the Wardens against Zaun and his call to have Heimerdinger retired. The later particularly shows his transition, as he's talking down to a man he genuinely respects. Also, I don't believe Mel's relationship with Jayce is exclusively her using him. Her call to add him to the counsel may have been to ensure his involvement with Hextech, but she seems genuinely miffed that he left without a word after their night together. Her eventual willingness to assist Jayce after he opens up about Victor's condition (something she responds to with her own gesture of vulnerability when she admits her distance with Madarda) illustrates the possibility that the relationship between the two of them (even it it was started by wanting to control Jayce) had become more personally intimate for both of them. I can't say for certain if they'll be a couple in Arc 3 or beyond, but I don't believe that it's as shallow as you think it is.
I believe jayce will leave her at the end, or some how overthrow her. Ending her manipulation and schemes making him not needing anyone and a self righteous hero of piltover.
Yeah it's a really great nuanced take on these character archetypes and the effort put into their relationship really makes me root for them both to find some kind of resolution in the future!
I think you're right, I would say the exact reason their relationship will die is because Jayce will learn why she started it. They'll both end loving each other, but somehow it's revealed and she has to come clean, ending the relationship she began to cherish in the process . It would be a fitting heartbreaker ending Riot for sure would like.
Loved this act! Jinx, Cait, and Viktor were showstoppers for me this time around. Cait's resourcefulness and adaptability, Viktor's plight and hints to GLORIOUS EVOLUTION, and pretty much everything surrounding Jinx - aesthetics (those transitions and neon lights!), her voice acting, and the fact that she is just one bad moment from going full unhinged mode is stellar. Looking forward to seeing how they end this show. Will it be a definitive conclusion to the Vi and Jinx story or will it end with a cliffhanger, either leading to a continuation of these two's story arc or a completely new character/region.
I just realized that "Shimmer" is the in game item as "Corrupting Potion" It does revitalize lost vitality, at the same time, it increases the your physical and mental capabilities
Should try searching for shimmer in the shop on league and seeing if it comes up, theres a few easter eggs like that in the shop as well as abbreviations
Act 2 is a kinda necessary build up for act 3 i think. Im glad they chose to take time to explain and pace it slowly, because what will happen in the finale kinda big shot.
I'm OK with retconning as League was never meant to be made into a series. They've been making great changes while keeping the characters true to their spirit.
I have to strongly disagree with your thoughts on Jayce, I thought his relationship with Mel was absolutely foreseeable, makes sense and I personally thought it was obvious that Mel has her own agenda, in the "sequence" with those two, and Viktor and hexcore, I thought it was clearly showing that both Jayce and Viktor, metaphorically speaking, were making love with their fates or downfalls. With the imagery of Viktors blood and the Hexcore reflecting a sperm and an egg, and perhaps Jayce planted his own seed... cant believe I just said that, I thought that it all stayed consistent and true to the story. Jayces ego was so apparent he forced his mentor into retirement because he thought he could do his job better lol
Oh the sequence.... I was hoping that I was wrong about the blood and the hexcore reflecting the sperm and the egg.... I am still not completely sure what it was supposed to communicate.

Go back and listen to her voice it's uncanny, and also it's important to note the obvious presence of ravens, possibly implying Swain is investigating Piltover and possibly sent Leblanc to spy. Also, they both wearing red(ish) bandana's around their necks.. and this might be a little meta-gaming.. but the voice actor credited for the leader is the same voice acter in the zaun short for tales of runetera. In that same short, we see the creation of dropboards.

I didn't like how Cait and Jayce could've been a thing in the first act. It felt like she idolized him in a crushy-way. Cait and Vi tho? Yeah, that's a ship I can sail on, cupcake. BTW did anyone else had a weird feeling with the interactions of Jinx with Silco? Sometimes I felt like they were almost too close, spatially speaking. Specially since Silco manipulated and lied to her into working with him, that's the kind of move someone with "other intentions" make. What's the opposite of the "now kiss" meme? Because that's how I felt, both in the shimmer-eye injection scene, and the river rebirth scene.
When Viktor said "I understand now" and the Singed we know was finally revealed, I had to take a second because the meaning of that and the forecoming implications of this are just sooooo good.
I feel like they are doing a good job developing Jayce, currently he isn't arrogant or anything to what the lore describes him. But just like Jinx and how she's currently not bad shit crazy, they are progressing the story and explaining how she turns crazy. Jayce on the other hand, Riot are laying the ground work to how he turns arrogant, you can see in the past 6 episodes how every times he doesn't listen to Heimer's advise, it turns out good for him, if not a bit too good. Psychologically it makes him without realizing that every time he listen to himself and his emotion, he is in the right. And now that Heimer is out of the picture and his opposition is gone, he can now focus on doing what he think is right and wrong. Making him a bit by bit more arrogant
Yay i was thinking the same stuff. With his situation, scene by scene, seen the first episode, his behavior change step by step.Now,he alone, by his influence and his politics games ( even is Mel was the puppet master at the beginning) , make heimerdinger out of the place is gonna be a big change for his mind. " I have the power, i'm better than them, i can manipulate everyone even to fire the figure of the city" and crash totally in science focus when he 's gonna see what happen to viktor, when he's gonna understand how politics made him loose a lot of crucial time to his projects Something like that can be verry coherent with who he is now. Like jinx. She's not "crazy" for the moment, she still a young excentric zaun teenager with big intelligence but big trauma These two are in an "in-between" between what they were and what they will become I hope it's gonna be like this, to see all of their evolution
I honestly think it's more likely they retcon both Jinx and Jayce slightly. While I like it for Jinx as she is more "realistically" crazy in Arcane, I too would have wanted the arrogant d4ckface Jayce.
But his character was so much more then just an arrogant asshole that’s not his only character trait and in my opinion there’s no way the Arcane Jayce will be even slightly like the lore one since they have completely different motives
Also, Vi left Cait with a guy and said be with whoever you like, and later we see Cait with a woman, not a man. That was one hint at something you didn't mention.
I like that Jinx hides above Silco's desk all the time. It's kind of reminiscent of when she was hiding from the enforcers in Act 1 and nearly fell, except now she's not falling (= growth).
I never played league of legends so I was extremely new to this and an outsider let me tell you LET ME TELL YOU at his show is SO FCKING GOOD. Like I easily give it a 10/10. I hope it will continue tbh

The voice actor for the Leader of the Firelights is also the same person who voices Ekko in the Legends of Runeterra cinematic as well as in the upcoming Riot Forge game, Reed Shannon. It could be a red herring but who knows.
All the show about hextech, jayce and viktor are a retcon. I have the viktor/jayces/blitz pages in front of my eyes In short : Hextech already exist when jayce and viktor was kids. But a better powerful gems was discovered in the futur. So before that, in their first adult ages, they already build a lot of big machine and tools to help people. But viktor decide to add some chemtech ( to control mind ) on tools. Jayce and him desagree on that, they almost fight, jayce cry in front of the concil. They fired Viktor from academia. Viktor lock himself in his laboratory in zaun, he knew jayce discovered something big ( a powerful hextech gem ), try to stole him, they fight, the building make big badaboom, viktor flee, viktor succes to stole the gems, viktor return to the laboratory and transform himself of what he is in the game, and still want to help people with despair to change them like him, without emotion Oh and blitzcrank should be here in the serie, vapor golem are frequent in zaun and viktor, before to be a strange thing, ( after his fight against jayce i guess), repair one of them with hextech technology to make him "alive" Same thing about the arrogant mentality jayce stuff. Sometimes he totally he's, but other time he "seem" to be one. Majority of the time he's just a obsesionnal scientist of science and just doesn't care about other people except when they have the same mentlity of focus science than him, his lifehis science and it's totally different than an arrogant one. I refuse to strictly label jinx at being insane as they have now made it so much deeper than that incorporating abandonment issues and (to some extent exaggerated) but a real look into some PTSD after a very traumatic incident and fostered in a bad way to encourage her to act on it through extreme violence.

I know nothing of LoL and her character; (I came here to learn more) but I love the series, and that was what we had talked about after watching so far, she's broken, but she's not "insane". She had been broken by events, but that doesn't make her less than, that just means she needs someone to help her find her way again.
Viktor for me is the most endearing character. It's tragic what happened between Jinx and Vi, but watching Viktor this whole time has me really rooting for him, even if he might do something questionable with Singed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Noxus was the next series. It almost feels like they left the way Swain conquered the demon, got a new hand, and took over Noxus vague on purpose just to do that scene in a TV show.

Yeah, I can agree with that. It didn't have the same emotional weight as Act 1, but I suppose as the middle part leading to a grand finally, it didn't need to. I do kinda wish they would not retcon so much, or at least keep up with updating champion bios to match the show, but whatever. Over all, I'm really liking where they're taking the show, and its absolutely not where I thought it was going.
It’s good, but it’s not as good as part 1. I have very few negative things I could say about part 1, part 2 has a few blatant issues. The imagine Dragon cameo felt over the top, for example.
Because of Viktor, act 2 is my favourite act so far. Edit: I'm also not too negative about retconning, if done right and as of right now it seems to be working great. The changes may help a lot in future stories and how this story continues.
The scene where Heimer stares into the hexcore and see the past rune wars was pretty cool because the red and black color scheme of it is hinting at the possible battlecast future that could await them. Just Brilliant

I never said that the scene was the future, I stated that I knew it was the Rune Wars flashback. I was never the biggest fan of Vi over the 7 years I've been playing, but Arcane has made me love her and the idea of her and Caitlyn being a thing, even if it doesn't go any further than "a thing". I just like that she acts so close and comfortable around Caitlyn. I'm really happy with how the series is going so far c:
Honestly I love the dynamic they have as police partners. Like hell yeah they mess with each other. If they choose for it to be a romantic route then it was already foreshadowed in Legends of Runeterra so I suppose they'll ride on it like Leona and Diana.

There’s also the scene with the goons playing cards right before Vi fights Silco’s sidekick. You can see the card « The Magician » that is an armored figure with a third arm and a red hand on his shoulder.
I really like that the animal Singed was experimenting with all those years back is suspended in a chamber and together with the fact we are unaware of what he has done since the end of act 1 and what he was doing during act 2 events PLUS the fact he was too busy to study the hexgem so jinx is forced to give it another try... makes the vander = ww theory live another day
It is amazing how well the story is written both for new viewers and the lore fans. The fan service is enough and subtle. The animation and soundtrack are beyond amazing. Eager to watch next episodes.
Yeah I feel that was Powder reaching out one last time. Hopping was still true that her sister would always come from her depsite how long it been. But then cat showed up an ruined everything. An then Ekko an hsi crew came an took Vi. An this shatters Powder an is turning point when she starts losing faith/hope I'm Vi an Jinx begins to fully take over
I feel like this is jayces transformation stage from a person trying to save everyone, to being only about himself. But we have to see why he earned the title of defender of piltover.

In my opinion, jayce in this story is extremely selfless, and gulible which will lead to a lot of tragedy in Act 3

I agree it was a dumb move, but in jayce's eyes; every time he tried to move forward heimer was there stalling him or holding him back. Heimer is the voice of reason. And he was ok with listening enough, until he stood in the way of his prigress of magic, and what jayce sees as the safety of the city in the present.
I feel like the hover board leader is definitely Ekko, mostly because their clothes are near identical. The overalls, bandana and knee armor are the same.
I think the great thing about this show is we expect so much from the story since we know lore somewhat depending on how much youve learnt about it. So we either get excited when it actually happens or shocked when it doesnt happen. Meanwhile none lore dwellers or none league players get a great story to enjoy for the first time
Necrit, I think your knowledge on "present" lore is tainting your perception of character development. Your thoughts on Jayce assumes that he's already egotistical when I believe it's better to see him so split between what is right for Piltover and Zaun and falling into his position as a leader with the leverage of Hextech. Jayce was a star in this Act because of his conflict with his ideals and what he needs to do.
True, riots writers are really good with the build up. They are showing what made them who they are in their lore. Kinda cringed that Necrit is so stuck with the lore. This review is rigid.
The thing is, the lore very specifically says that Jayce was egotistical since the beginning. Like, literally since he was a little kid. I too prefer him developing into a egotistical guy, but its retcon nonetheless, which is something he dislikes heavily.

He is egotistical. He blatantly refused to acknowledge Heimerdinger’s caution against magic. He ignored someone a hundred years senior because he knows in himself he is right. He refuses to acknowledge that his actions will have consequences later. Riot made it believable. He can’t be egotistical or it’s going deviate from the ‘real-life’ feel they are aiming for. Axolotls are known to have crazy regeneration abilities so he is probably going to use its gene to prolong his life or at least dampen the severity of his disease. I think viktor realizes this too because when he sees the tube with the mutant still alive he says something like “I understand now.” I don’t think he is working with singed because he wants to it’s out of necessity because he knows he kept this gene alive

I had NOTHING to do with Viktor and i didnt know his lore, i was even surprised when he appeared as "Chemtech" in TFT. I felt like he was a relatively boring side Character in Act 1, but now i feel so hard with him. He literally works for his life while Jayce gets "consumed" by the politics. Really love his character and how he fights his way through the pain.

Tbh while I felt bad seeing Viktor dying, but it made me laugh with how they mixed up his scene when he passed out with Jayce banging that council member during that time.
One teeny tiny detail that I personally found as an awesome detail, was how surprised and in disbelief caitlyn was when she found out vi didn't have parents. Kind of shows the one of the many differences in the society.

Personally I don't really mind the lore being retconned for this kind of reason. Retconning the lore of a character just because a new one comes out is one thing, but doing so to make an entire series better is another thing entirely. Some characters have lore way older than others, and to tell the best story possible, adjusting the lore in some places, especially if it all connects the characters together, is great. It helps tie out loose ends, and even shape some characters that were undevelopped (Twitch (maybe), Warwick, Singed). If it takes a little retconning to add so much dept to this many characters, I don't mind at all, I actually quite like it! We're talking about a retcon that has been 6 years in the making after all.
I agree with this sentiment. Some people are a tad bit overzealous about retconning, but if it makes for better characters and a better story, I'm all for it. If Jayce was the same egomaniac here as he used to be, then I don't think any of his arcs would have worked. With lore this old, changes are gonna happen

I get why people don't like retconning but with an in-game universe this old with new characters being added all the time I think its unavoidable as new (sometimes better) writers are hired and the story adjusts. Plus, there's precedent. People have been retconning since humanity started telling stories

I'm not too well versed in Jayce's universe lore, but I feel like they're setting him up to get betrayed. He's falling in love with a person who's using him. In most scenarios the trope is to turn back to your work and forget about people. Depending on the timeline in the universe lore, he could be an egotistical ahole, we're just seeing the things that turned him into one. Only a speculation though, great video!

But it seems Arcane is going to rewrite Viktor a bit to show his more fanatical side after this hexcore saves his life and thus prompting him to start his glorious evolution. Makes more sense I suppose than friend betrayed me, so I turned myself into a robot.

@@ayami123 Heimer has been leading Piltover for 200 years but no actual progress has been made because he's strict. I'm sure everyone in the council wants him out but they can't because he's literally one of the founders of the city. I agree with Jayce for this one.

So many hints pointing to owl man being Ekko. The logo on his clothes, the fact Ekko wasn't present at all, the red scarf, him recognizing Jinx' art, ordering them to take Vi alive, the hoverboards that are kinda like the hoverboard he made in one of the legends of runeterra trailers, the clock in the first scene with him with 5 minutes foreshadowing his relationship with time. So many subtle things, but they add up.

Nah I dont think its him, all his voiceline in LoR or Lol all pointing towards him having alot emotional attachments to Jinx,even had a crush on her. So when the owl man see jinx on the airship the reaction would have been different if it was ekko
I agree, regardless of what it meant, his first line being time-related is huge. Another big clue imo is the fact that all his little sidekicks we see in the last scene are young kids that Ekko probably picked up because they were like him. It also just makes sense that little Ekko would go into hiding after the events that happened in Act 1 being left on his own without Benzo or any of his friends. I believe it and I love it.

All the praise is directly being fed into Jayce and jayce should naturally be getting a big head from the attention. Viktor's unwillingness to show himself and enjoy things with Jayce should make Jayce angry and show himself in a more childish egotistical light but not the humble good boy he's being made.

The point of Jayce is that he's being shoved around by powerful egos and he's struggling to find his footing. I literally said to myself “Daaaaamnn… Heimer got did greasy”, but in all honesty, he was too afraid of taking that risk, reasonably so, but it he wouldn’t let his prodigies shine. He had something coming.
Viktor was 100% my favorite part of this act. A crippled man, beaten down into the shadow of his peers ever since he was born, finds a few sparks of hope. Once, when Heimerdinger found him. Once, when he discovered how to stabilize the hextech crystals with Jayce. And once, as he literally bleeds out from the shit hand life dealt him, when he stumbles upon how to harness the hex core. Desperate to save not only himself, but hundreds or thousands of others in awful situations like his, he turns to less and less moral means of experimentation, his life growing shorter by the minute, until eventually resorting to returning to his old mentor who he abandoned in fear. That is SUCH a good setup for a morally ambiguous character, one who could either turn out to be a gold-hearted hero or, more likely at this point, a highly sympathetic villain, one who we almost want to see win because we know what his cause is and why he’s doing the presumably horrible things he will do. I’m so excited to see where they take him in act three!

I think Jinx wasn’t baiting Vi, she was trying to prove Vi wasn’t back,Vi was dead and to prove once again Vi lied to her by saying “light this and I’ll find you” that’s why Jinx was shocked when Vi actually showed up, I thought it was really moving, Jinx’s not insane just damaged by everything that has happened, love her character.
I hope after Arcane, Riot will invest in more animated series. Just imagine what Demacia, Ionia, Freljord, Noxus and Shurima could benefit from something like this.

I like how almost every scene in this show is a setup to future plot. For example, Vi giving Powder the flare in act 1 and she used it in act 2 - leading to their reunion; or Viktor’s remarks on how Jayce signing every page is “a bit egotistical”, to Jayce slowly becoming a egotistical, corrupted politician. This show has so many goddamn Chekhov’s guns that it turned into Chekhov’s armoury at this point.

I’m thinking that Jayce is going to develop into the more self centered “all about my work” egotist we expect. I think it’s going to take him essentially being betrayed by Victor and/or realizing the counsel is straight up BS and helping people isn’t really worth it.
I imagine that him and Mel getting blasted by Jinx would make him hate Zaun with a passion(which is kinda understandable since that attack happened right when the Council ratified his proposal to grant independence to Zaun).
His animosity against Zaun is probably what's gonna drive Viktor away(remember how Viktor chose not to tell Jayce about Singe when they were on the bridge?).

A couple hints that the hoverboard guy is ekko:
-he was holding a pocketwatch when we first saw him, tying into ekko’s time theme
-the red scarf he wears is the same one ekko is wearing in game
you know, I haven't considered that at all. It ties into some of his follower's cards in LOR, although I am very interested to see if this is really going to be Fae, or some other completely new character. It really does make sense though considering that he hasn't shown up after the timeskip yet, but i guess we'll need to wait and see.
I mean it has to be, why else would he be one of the characters that shows up in the intro song?

Really well designed character. She is a side character, so obviously less screen time than Jayce or Jinx or Vi, but when she is on screen, she makes a huge impact.

I actually kind of like Jayce’s arc: he starts off as an ambitious (if naïve) inventor. Then, he turns into a sort of celebrity, which is clearly outside of his comfort zone. However, he’s supported by the manipulative Mel, and the ambition starts going to his head. At this point, though, he’s still trying to hold onto his morals; he’s not ignorant to where he could end up as a person, especially after socializing with the aristocracy so much. Even so, he finds himself put to the test by one of the very few people who believed in him. Mel forces him to confront the corrupt individuals he’s been inhibiting and rewards him for doing what he thinks will get her approval. This is when cold reality hits him as he finds out about Viktor’s condition. While he’s been playing politics, Viktor has spent every waking moment working, not just for the sake of science or profit, but to save his own life. Wracked by guilt, Jayce hardens into something that can’t be molded by Mel or pushed around by the aristocracy. Not even Heimerdinger can stand in his way as he adopts a dark mirror of his original philosophy: nothing can stand in the way of progress. As a side note, I really like what happens with Mel here. After hearing about Viktor, we see that she feels bad about her actions for the first time, and more so as Jayce falls from grace. She’s finally grounded herself and we see her for what she truly is: a hard worker starved for validation. In other words, she’s just like Jayce. Going back to him, I really think the conflict with Piltover and Zaun as well as Viktor’s transformation will leave him exactly the kind of jaded, egotistical jerk that we see in the original lore.
This. I don't know why everyone said Jayce in arc 2 is a bad character. They wrote him as a guy who from nothing get everything, and struggle to fit his new shoes. He still confused and try to find his way.

You couldn't of said it any better, exactly what I was thinking after watching act 2.
If anything, story line of act 2 establishes a greater depths in Jayce's character. By making Jayce apprehensible by the audience in a sense. To which later builds up to the egotistical individual as he is portrayed within the original lore.
Pretty much how I see it. These events will set Jayce and Victor on their respective paths to be like they are in their bios and stories. Which may play out in another series.
I just think silco and jinx relationship is written so well silco treat jinx WAY better than anyone else and treats her like a daughter and the detail of every time he’s in the office jinx is always above his head and no one knows she is there but him and it shows how close they are because she was able to put a trap in the office that wasn’t noticeable
A detail I noticed was at the scene when they were at the play, everyone was there to further their own agenda, all the other senators were talking to each other and gaining connections and influence and even jayce eventually goes around making deals with all the senators while heimerdinger was the ONLY one on the front row seat fully immersed in the play happening, further showing how he's beyond all the politics around the city and eventually the reason why he's kicked out of his own council.
I didn't pick up on that, that's such a clever way to foreshadow what happens to him!
It's also really good to notice that Heimer is the only one who enjoys the present moment in that scene. There is no worry on his face, nor fear of his council members or others in the moment. He is genuinely enjoying the peaceful "progress" of his work into the city, and it's heartbreaking.

The only thing we are certain of, is that we are going to die in the future, and yet Jayce and Viktor spend all their time looking for the future and how they can make the future better, without caring or realizing that the present is just as important. Damn, it took a building and six deaths so Jayce could start to understand that people could use his technology to do something bad

Love Jinx's personality. I was a little scared that they would keep her sane until the finale where she would snap from chemicals or something, so glad that they decided to show her full breakdown. She's just a very fun character to watch.
What I like is how they didn't make it so she just snaps and goes crazy at one moment. Rather they show you the results of her dealing with Vi "abandoning" her (and possibly a severe combination of schizophrenia, adhd, ptsd etc.). She also remains true to the Jinx we knew, while being depicted in a more "realistic" way. Instead of being just "haha silly crazy girl" she is shown to be very smart, but acts like the neglected child she was/still is.
As a result of her upbringing she despises being seen as helpless and weak, yet she still seeks the protection of Silco and later Vi. She is still crazy, but it's not her only trait like in the game. Jinx/Powder has been a way more interesting character than I thought she would be.
TLDR
I love how they kept her crazy, but in a way more interesting way.

I feel like character's lore getting retconned is a good thing if it leads to them having a more substantial role in the world. Jayce's previous lore was good, but being a recluse scientist has a lot of overlaps with other characters and limits him to interacting with other characters individually rather than as a whole.
Also, nothing prevents Singed from having been a piltovan scientist before the events of act 1. It's just not one of the (many) plot-lines Arcane has decided to juggle.
About the Singed thing, like Act I already showed us how Heimerdinger immediately shuts down studies on things that is potentially dangerous. One look at Singed's work and you can say the academy will say nope to that.

Jayce was amazing in act 2 imo. You can really see the gears in his head working as he is torn between Mel and Viktor or protecting piltover and playing politics and helping the undercity people with Hextech. I feel like the realyzation of the reality of Zaun is gonna make him devolp his vigilante complex and i cant wait for act 3
As far as Singed is concerned, the setup for him is almost non existent but thats kinda by design imo. His ambitions were sorta being kept a secret but im sure theyll give a massive spotlight in act 3
To defend Singed : He is not a main character, nor a secondary character in the series. So far he is only an important background character, so the story doesn't really have to explain his character for now.
I rly hope we get some Singed, Twitch, Dr. Mundo action in act 3

I think the retcons are actually improving the story. Retconning is worth it if you get to tell a better story for it.
Jayce is a lot more likable because of him being gullible and naive than he is in any of the games. He still has time to become the asshole Jayce in the present but I mean... I like this one better tbh.
Also, there are big themes of betrayal going on all around the series with multiple characters so of course, Jayce is gonna get totally owned by Mel and I'm here for it. Let's see how that changes our baby boi.
I feel Arcane improved on Jayce’s character by making him more sympathetic. He’s loyal to Viktor to the point he voted out their mutual mentor Heinerdinger to save his life.
His love for his mother and naivety with Mel really improves over the egotistical Stark trope from og lore IMO.

Arcane is something I've wanted for the longest time. Well not Arcane exactly but some show that has to do with the lore of League of Legends. Arcane one of if not the best written show I ever watched. As well as one of the best choreograph shows I've seen. Each characters movement gives you insight on how one feels and each punch throw has an impact behind it. The art styles is so unique and beautiful and the atmosphere created is truly beyond a work of art. Also, attention ro detail is a really nice touch.
The animation of their facial expressions and movement makes them feel actually human with all the micro details it contains. Very well done.

i don't expect people to come here and not know the show, i'm also trying not to give major spoilers, but beware anyway.
yeah, i mean the plot itself is nothing too special, some "rich versus poor" and "both sides have good and bad people", sisters falling out etc. considering how limited they were as they couldn't just fully retcon the lore but also couldn't stick 100% to it (as that would be boring), it's very well done
but the themes they're picking up are pretty nice. the madness of jinx being more than just "ah, i'm an edgy 16 yo who likes explosions and doesn't care for consequences" is a really nice part. generally, i was afraid it's going to be some PG-oriented series so everyone can watch it, but it's very serious and it tackles controversial topics rather well.
and the animation ist just *.*
but also the camerawork done, for example the flip when vi gets pushed into the ground that was also in the trailer is such a nice moment. it's a good way to make the audience feel the impact of everything.

I really love how they portrayed the mental illness of Jinx, gave me the same vibes as the game Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. Her always seeing things and hearing voices, sometimes causing good things, like warning her in a fight but most of the time it's just gnawing at her mental state.

Just found Another "probable" hint that Ekko might has something related to The Fireflies,, ACT I, episode 2 after 10 minutes when Ekko helped the team escape from the arcade, they used A Pipe, kinda remembered the intro to fireflies in Act 2 at beginning and at the Vi-Meet-JInx scene :sweatsmile;

I believe Jayce had a potential subplot you missed.
In Arc 1 and a fair amount of Arc 2 Jayce has ambitions and goals he wants to accomplish, but it isn't until someone gives him permission or the assistance to move forward with those ambitions. A perfect example of this is when he decides to hold off the reveal of the Hex gemstone because Heimerdinger advised him to do so. After he became a member of the counsel, much of his early interactions with Mel were to show him that he has to stand by any decisions he makes to survive amongst the others. He needs to assert himself.
This comes to a head with his decisions to ready the Wardens against Zaun and his call to have Heimerdinger retired. The later particularly shows his transition, as he's talking down to a man he genuinely respects.
Also, I don't believe Mel's relationship with Jayce is exclusively her using him. Her call to add him to the counsel may have been to ensure his involvement with Hextech, but she seems genuinely miffed that he left without a word after their night together. Her eventual willingness to assist Jayce after he opens up about Victor's condition (something she responds to with her own gesture of vulnerability when she admits her distance with Madarda) illustrates the possibility that the relationship between the two of them (even it it was started by wanting to control Jayce) had become more personally intimate for both of them. I can't say for certain if they'll be a couple in Arc 3 or beyond, but I don't believe that it's as shallow as you think it is.
I believe jayce will leave her at the end, or some how overthrow her. Ending her manipulation and schemes making him not needing anyone and a self righteous hero of piltover.
Yeah it's a really great nuanced take on these character archetypes and the effort put into their relationship really makes me root for them both to find some kind of resolution in the future!
I think you're right, I would say the exact reason their relationship will die is because Jayce will learn why she started it. They'll both end loving each other, but somehow it's revealed and she has to come clean, ending the relationship she began to cherish in the process . It would be a fitting heartbreaker ending Riot for sure would like.

Loved this act! Jinx, Cait, and Viktor were showstoppers for me this time around. Cait's resourcefulness and adaptability, Viktor's plight and hints to GLORIOUS EVOLUTION, and pretty much everything surrounding Jinx - aesthetics (those transitions and neon lights!), her voice acting, and the fact that she is just one bad moment from going full unhinged mode is stellar.
Looking forward to seeing how they end this show. Will it be a definitive conclusion to the Vi and Jinx story or will it end with a cliffhanger, either leading to a continuation of these two's story arc or a completely new character/region.

I have to strongly disagree with your thoughts on Jayce, I thought his relationship with Mel was absolutely foreseeable, makes sense and I personally thought it was obvious that Mel has her own agenda, in the "sequence" with those two, and Viktor and hexcore, I thought it was clearly showing that both Jayce and Viktor, metaphorically speaking, were making love with their fates or downfalls. With the imagery of Viktors blood and the Hexcore reflecting a sperm and an egg, and perhaps Jayce planted his own seed... cant believe I just said that, I thought that it all stayed consistent and true to the story. Jayces ego was so apparent he forced his mentor into retirement because he thought he could do his job better lol

I feel like they are doing a good job developing Jayce, currently he isn't arrogant or anything to what the lore describes him. But just like Jinx and how she's currently not bad shit crazy, they are progressing the story and explaining how she turns crazy. Jayce on the other hand, Riot are laying the ground work to how he turns arrogant, you can see in the past 6 episodes how every times he doesn't listen to Heimer's advise, it turns out good for him, if not a bit too good. Psychologically it makes him without realizing that every time he listen to himself and his emotion, he is in the right. And now that Heimer is out of the picture and his opposition is gone, he can now focus on doing what he think is right and wrong. Making him a bit by bit more arrogant

So before that, in their first adult ages, they already build a lot of big machine and tools to help people. But viktor decide to add some chemtech ( to control mind ) on tools. Jayce and him desagree on that, they almost fight, jayce cry in front of the concil. They fired Viktor from academia. Viktor lock himself in his laboratory in zaun, he knew jayce discovered something big ( a powerful hextech gem ), try to stole him, they fight, the building make big badaboom, viktor flee, viktor succes to stole the gems, viktor return to the laboratory and transform himself of what he is in the game, and still want to help people with despair to change them like him, without emotion
Oh and blitzcrank should be here in the serie, vapor golem are frequent in zaun and viktor, before to be a strange thing, ( after his fight against jayce i guess), repair one of them with hextech technology to make him "alive"

I refuse to strictly label jinx at being insane as they have now made it so much deeper than that incorporating abandonment issues and (to some extent exaggerated) but a real look into some PTSD after a very traumatic incident and fostered in a bad way to encourage her to act on it through extreme violence.

I know nothing of LoL and her character; (I came here to learn more) but I love the series, and that was what we had talked about after watching so far, she's broken, but she's not "insane". She had been broken by events, but that doesn't make her less than, that just means she needs someone to help her find her way again.

Yeah, I can agree with that. It didn't have the same emotional weight as Act 1, but I suppose as the middle part leading to a grand finally, it didn't need to. I do kinda wish they would not retcon so much, or at least keep up with updating champion bios to match the show, but whatever. Over all, I'm really liking where they're taking the show, and its absolutely not where I thought it was going.
It’s good, but it’s not as good as part 1. I have very few negative things I could say about part 1, part 2 has a few blatant issues. The imagine Dragon cameo felt over the top, for example.

The scene where Heimer stares into the hexcore and see the past rune wars was pretty cool because the red and black color scheme of it is hinting at the possible battlecast future that could await them. Just Brilliant
Its not a battlecast reference, its a reference to Brand and his immolation which sparked the first war.

I was never the biggest fan of Vi over the 7 years I've been playing, but Arcane has made me love her and the idea of her and Caitlyn being a thing, even if it doesn't go any further than "a thing". I just like that she acts so close and comfortable around Caitlyn. I'm really happy with how the series is going so far c:
Honestly I love the dynamic they have as police partners. Like hell yeah they mess with each other. If they choose for it to be a romantic route then it was already foreshadowed in Legends of Runeterra so I suppose they'll ride on it like Leona and Diana.
In fairness, Caitlyn is the first person we know Vi got even basic human decency from in possibly a full decade, let alone cooperation and concern.

There’s also the scene with the goons playing cards right before Vi fights Silco’s sidekick. You can see the card « The Magician » that is an armored figure with a third arm and a red hand on his shoulder.

and together with the fact we are unaware of what he has done since the end of act 1 and what he was doing during act 2 events PLUS the fact he was too busy to study the hexgem so jinx is forced to give it another try...

I agree it was a dumb move, but in jayce's eyes; every time he tried to move forward heimer was there stalling him or holding him back. Heimer is the voice of reason. And he was ok with listening enough, until he stood in the way of his prigress of magic, and what jayce sees as the safety of the city in the present.

I think the great thing about this show is we expect so much from the story since we know lore somewhat depending on how much youve learnt about it. So we either get excited when it actually happens or shocked when it doesnt happen. Meanwhile none lore dwellers or none league players get a great story to enjoy for the first time
Necrit, I think your knowledge on "present" lore is tainting your perception of character development. Your thoughts on Jayce assumes that he's already egotistical when I believe it's better to see him so split between what is right for Piltover and Zaun and falling into his position as a leader with the leverage of Hextech. Jayce was a star in this Act because of his conflict with his ideals and what he needs to do.
True, riots writers are really good with the build up. They are showing what made them who they are in their lore. Kinda cringed that Necrit is so stuck with the lore. This review is rigid.
The thing is, the lore very specifically says that Jayce was egotistical since the beginning. Like, literally since he was a little kid. I too prefer him developing into a egotistical guy, but its retcon nonetheless, which is something he dislikes heavily.

He is egotistical. He blatantly refused to acknowledge Heimerdinger’s caution against magic. He ignored someone a hundred years senior because he knows in himself he is right. He refuses to acknowledge that his actions will have consequences later. Riot made it believable. He can’t be egotistical or it’s going deviate from the ‘real-life’ feel they are aiming for. Him being egotistical since birth is too cartoony. I think. 🤨

What matters with retcons is how they're used. They're tools, not inherently good or bad.
I honestly think this arc was really good for what it needed to do, it needed to develop characters, muddy the politics and set up the pieces for the final act. It did that perfectly.
