My usual responses to "Do you know who I am?" is either, "If you don't know who you are, how the hell am I supposed to know." or "I'm sorry, i really don't care how important you think you are."

I've got an aunt that is a complete control freak about people's food choices. She often wants to go with people to eat at restaurants, but she's will only eat at 5 places. However if you order something on the menu she doesn't like she will demand you change the order. Not her order, your order. She'll usually say that she got sick off of it once so there-for anyone that eats it will get sick to. She once had a public freak out because I ordered a rare steak at a Cracker Barrel. It was so bad she got us kicked out of the restaurant. Even worse she still thinks she 'saved' me from getting food poising to this day.

So can we just point out that someone ripped that first one strain from icecreamsandwich?

A customer at my old job once made my coworker cry because she "threw" a reciept at him. Not like balled it up and threw it, just handed it over in a manner that hurt his feewings. He demanded to speak to a manager, whom he screamed at, which promoted another manager and our head manager over. He yelled at both of them too, informed us his wife is a lawyer and that he would be suing. My head manager asked if he could lower his volume to which he responded "NO I WILL NOT". Managers asked him to leave and he stomped out while calling my head manager a jackass (which is true, lol, I hated that guy, but he was in the right in this case). But it didn't stop there. For the next few days we had random people calling in saying they witnessed the event, scolded the managers for handling it poorly, and defended the screaming man child. The thing is, he was the only customer up by the registers at that time. Idk if there were other customers in the store, it was pretty early in the day, but if they were, they were too far back to have seen or heard anything aside from his screaming. It also occured right in front of the entry security camera, so we had proof that there weren't other customers around to witness it. Plus, he was the only person who raised his voice, so there was no way anyone else in the store could hear anyone other than him. He literally asked some friends to call in and lie about witnessing the temper tantrum to....idk pressure them? Into something? Nothing happened after that, nobody got sued and the calls eventually stopped. But goddamn. All this over a little scrap of paper.

Airports really bring out the worst in people sometimes. I will say that I have also had very nice interactions in airports, but when flights are delayed or cancelled the emotions do get high. A carton of orange juice though? Lady... fix your priorities.

I think if you make a mess in a restaurant, store, whatever on purpose like Szechuan sauce guy, you should be required to clean it up yourself

My grown-ass father threw a tantrum on a vacation in Italy. My mother misplaced her wallet and my father accused her of being careless and letting herself get pickpocketed. We were in public and people were staring. My mother and I walked away and she found her wallet a few minutes later.

Story 16: to be fair McDonald's completely botched that entire Rick & Morty promotion. They could have made bank off of that. Obviously this doesn't excuse the tantrums people threw over the sauce. But it was a hell of a missed opportunity.

When I worked retail, I was in a department store that had a separate jewelry store in the same room as the accessories department that I usually worked in. So, since it was technically a "store within a store," they couldn't ring up our merchandise, and we couldn't ring up theirs, even though our checkouts were within twelve feet of each other. We always had customers who would get salty when told they'd have to ring up at the other register, but the woman who took the cake was one who came and our register was busy, and she wanted to ring up at the other register. I tried to tell her that she could ring up her purchases at LITERALLY ANY OTHER REGISTER IN THE STORE, but instead of listening me, she started stamping her feet like a toddler and chanting "I DON'T CARE! I DON'T CARE!" over and over again, getting right in my face and shouting, even pounding her fists on the counter in time to her "I DON'T CARE!". Finally a manager came and opened another register, and she was all sweet as pie again and even said, "I'm sorry, but I just didn't want to wait," in a honeyed voice while I rang up her purchases (an emergency handbag and scarf, yeah) and tried not to cry from being shouted at (I was young).

I was a hotel front desk clerk at a casino hotel. One Karen is upset that her two rooms were not adjoining. She wanted it for her "kids" who looked adult age. And they also had tickets to the show that night. She asks for the manager. I get him. She proceeds to scream how we all wrecked her weekend with her children, etc etc. She demanded her money back. My boss happily gave it back to her as we'd be able to sell it fir double aswe were now sold out. She still screams at him. In front of at least a hundred people standing in our crowded lobby. They leave and do not go to the concert they spent good money on. My boss did not have authorization to refund her tickets. I don't know if she wrnt /o yell at the ticket office or not.
