My older brother and his wife had a small wedding, only about 25 people. My brother was only allowed 5 guests; because our family was not 'as good as hers'.
Almost 20 years later they are still together; both functional alcoholics, and miserable. They only stay together because they dont want to lose the house.

I haven't been to that many weddings, and the few I have have been nice, but my mom's best friend said she knew that at hers she KNEW she didn't want to go through with it but felt the social pressure. If it's just a piece of paper to you I can understand going through with the party and just getting an annulment, but otherwise, trust your gut. There's cold feet and then there is knowing you don't want this life at all.

17:40 a pal of mine’s coworkers got hitched, and when the staying faithful bit came up, the couple chuckled, just barely. You could see the smiles shared. When my friend asked why, the couple reiterated, in private, that the couple were both poly. They found it funny since the couple’s families were all very heteronormative, conservative, and just so snooty, while those two were the exact opposites. They’re still together, and have a third partner who’s the sweetest person I’ve ever met.
