@@Peter.Cotoncalida I was 74 at the time, and was running around in the circle pit during "Road of Resistance", twirling a towel in the air. I checked the Bluray, and I found myself bowing!!! and not embarrassed at all by the way! I hope you do visit Japan. I am Japanese so I hope people will treat you well.
This was at Babymetal's first live show in almost two years in January 2023, so it was a special occasion and the crowd was super excited to see them again for the first time in a long time. I was at this show and the bowing part went on for what felt like an eternity. My back got quite sore from all the bowing, but it was an amazing performance to be a part of. We all bow when the Queen commands us. The Kami band were there, they were down one end of the arena, so they've not really visible in this video. The round platform that Babymetal are on ran on a track down the middle of the arena and could lift about 25 feet in the air. During the performance, the stage moved back and forth down the arena so that all parts of the audience got to see them up close for some part of the show. The crowd at Makuhari was 15,000 each night over two nights, so 30,000 total.
Great reaction.🦊🤘This song dates back to 2012 - Su was 14, Yui and Moa not quite 13. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday. 15 is when compulsory education ends in Japan, so it is also the end of childhood and the first step towards becoming an adult. Her first 15 years passed by so quickly and life will never be the same so she is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. There are some very special performances of 'Headbanger'. At shows in 2014 on or near their 15th birthdays Yuimetal (in Paris) and Moametal (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' when Su handed them the mic and stand half way through the song. There are only fancam videos for those. More special performances ... 20 is the age of majority in Japan, they officially become an adult - the lyrics of the song were changed to 'this special night of my 20th' for 3 performances - Legend S in 2017 for Su-metal's 20th birthday, Legend M in 2019 for Moametal's and just last month Legend MM for Momometal ... but she was not a member of BABYMETAL until April last year and couldn't do her's on her 20th birthday - that was on 3rd March last year, so the performance at Legend MM was on 2nd March this year, the day before her 21st birthday. Yes the Kami Band is playing live in all their concerts since March 2014. Before that they played the encores in some shows from October 2012. They do not do any of the growls, those are nearly all anonymous and are on the backing track. If you notice any repetitive parts in their songs (eg the "hedoban hedoban hedoban" in this one) those are the parts the crowd will be singing along with, bouncing up and down or copying whatever moves Moa and Momoko (or previously Yui and Moa) are making ... such as the side to side headbanging in this one. There are no filler songs, but there may be one or two you like less than the others ... for example you mentioned 'Gimme Chocolate' - it may not be one of their best, but it was an important song for getting them some attention early on (it still does) and it is a lot of peoples' favourite song. Its great fun at live shows where it always gets a huge cheer.
In most of Babymetal’s existence, the low screams were a backing track. But lately the newest member, Momometal, has show herself to be capable of doing those live.
A very enjoyable reaction. Watching your somewhat stunned face throughout this performance was a hoot! Good comments, funny comments. Maybe just settle on a safe word before your next reaction...you know, just in case.
It's even older. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was first performed on June 23rd, 2012. The single came out a month later 'Gimme Chocolate!!' had it's world debut on December 21st, 2013. It was included on the first album, which came out in Japan on February 26th, 2014.
