No trees at Elephant Butte - I hated camping there as a kid for that simple reason. My dad loved boats and jet skis and we would stay there for a week in a tent. All I wanted was shade from a tree. No amount of sun screen seemed to protect me from the sun.
Oh wow, I can imagine as a kid wanting some reprieve from the hot sun. Maybe we should go plant some trees :)
The Buttes water levels have gotten a lot lower too.

Truth or Consequences! The first this I found interesting when moving to NM was some of the cool city names! Good tip on washing your legs off. Never thought of doing that. Here in Oregon we have bloodsucking gnats. They're horrible, worse than mosquitoes.

Also, about cleaning up--What about using body wipes to clean up?
Great! I fussed with some settings and hopefully this will work going forward. Wipes work, but that creates a bit of waste, I find water and a rag easier to

Enjoying this series...I live in Santa Fe and ride the same route you guys took out of town pretty regularly. I hope you're going to update us from the GDMBR...I have a friend joining you and the group for the Grand Depart...probably at the back since he'll be travelling the route a bit slower than you...his plan is to finish...my plan is to join him when he gets to Northern New Mexico and finish the route with him....Good Luck!

I've lived all over the US and NM has the BEST Mexican food. Arizona, Texas, and California just cant compete! Hatch green chiles are the best!

At the beginning of video you had those like rubber ties holding the bottles at the front fork. At some point there was like ropes on them. Did you lost the ties?
Those fasteners up front are called Modl Infinity Loops, super handy. They didn’t fall off
