This was lovely Oto, thank you. Qor’s Diox Purple is intimidating, tho I’ve found taking the teeniest bit and tripling the amount of water I’d usually use gives a delicate purple “wash” that’s transparent, not overwhelming, and makes a nice shadow color. I’ve added a touch of PBk11 (coarsely ground pigment, like RS Aquarius Black) which gives a nice granularity and again, isn’t overwhelming or too aggressive. Again, for shadows. I’d like to mention, just FYI, that Cotman’s Diox Purple is a very vibrant and transparent version that outshines many “pro” versions. Looking forward to the next installment 🌺🦩☺️
I'm a hopeless QoR junkie and I love this series! Ultramarine pink was one of the few left that I was on the fence on - this has convinced me I need it. QoR's swatch sheet really does not do it justice at all. "Rotten seaweed brown" - that made me laugh out loud. :-)

I now included Diox Violet by QoR into my permanent palette because I've noticed that most of other brands' diox violets do not have the highest lightfastness rating while this one does! And also it is beautifully intense of course!
Oh, these colors are all so lovely! 💜 It's so funny to look at this line up of colors though, thinking like "oh, there's a magenta, a pink, a purple and two violets" and then QoR is like "here's 4 violets and one pink, and our pink isn't your pink" 😂😂 (The way people define purples and violets is like a pet peeve lol)
Magentas, pinks, purples, (and some violets) are my all time favorite colors. The level of restraint I need not to have all of them from all the brands is ridiculous. I’ll have to double check the color showdown again to see if it is worth getting the cobalt violet and dioxazine purple twice 😍🤣
I invested in a tube of Ultramarine Violet in August. I feel like it's the perfect violet on my palette and it also neutralize the Yellow Ochre (PY43) quite good, I think. But now I'm like "QOR has all the other nice colors, too. I want to try a few more colors." 😅
I haven't even commented on the last video yet (cool reds are my favorite range, and I grabbed a tube of that quin red, too) - it seems like everyone gets the diox violet from Qor: yeah, Qor's diox is so intense I think of it as "QoR diox" versus other PV23s. I didn't use it in paintings for a long time because it's so intense, but it's one of those Qor paints that can flip a painting, too (if there's a mistake, or the need for a temperature change). I panned mine and I don't think I'll need another tube because a little goes SOooooo far. Given that I already have the diox, though, I'm truly surprised this installment didn't have me making a shopping list! I guess I'm very satisfied with the Schminke ultram. violet (as you said, far more blue, but I'd add "also clearly "violet", and without having to wait forever to rewet). And as for the pinkier violets, really I struggle with even M. Graham's cobalt violet deep (pv14). I feel like I can get close enough to those hues with a decent blue and quin rose? It's far less of a struggle than trying to get a mass tone at all from any literal "cobalt violet". (Hashtag Painting Shouldn't Make You Cry) 😂 You've saved me some cash again! Thank you! It is indeed really difficult to figure out the color sometimes from just small swatch, I hope these videos helps with that!
