I'm Christian but you don't need to be a Christian to find these inventions disturbing. Some of the inventors' dreams are nightmares for the rest of us. Stephen King keeps his eerie ideas in books or movies. He doesn't try to make his ideas real, or involve real people.
I wonder if the idea that a robot could be a friend is using the word "friend" analogously, the way we call dogs "man's best friend." Of course, that would suggest that it would be better to make the robots look less human and more like animals, even if I can understand why they might need a humanoid shape to do some of the jobs we'd want them to do. I think Neuralink being used to help paraplegic people walk is an unalloyed good, but it shouldn't be used for anything other than mitigating serious disabilities... and it shouldn't need to be a two-way link to allow for mind control of bionic limbs/electric stimulation of neurally disconnected limbs.
The thing is: With Elon i'm 💯 convinced he wants to build a utopia. With the Gov and the WEF I know they will build a dystopian nightmare for us normal people.

Except you only bring up Catholics inventing/exploring. Today we have nonbelievers and even anti Catholics discovering. Don’t you think it’s wise to be wary of their motives?
