Thanks for all the great backing tracks LJS I appreciate them and since I don't always have others to practice/jam with It is fun/helpful for me.As for the wankers complaining about the key signature (this means BOTH sides of the argument here) We should be THANKING LJS for these and as for the seasoned players being mean about it, most of the people asking are probably beginners so maybe we should be a little nicer and more helpful rather than belittling someone. Here's my advice for figuring out the key. Learn the head to the tune (you can usually listen to other full recordings to hear it ) then you should be able to figure out the key. If anyone wants advice please feel free to message me, I will help in any way of which I am capable....
Yeah. I bought that biab program. Best investment of the year. Great for my solo act. Those 226 songs are just what I need. I just open the jukebox function and go. I don’t know all the songs but I listen to the first chorus and I’m off and running. Gig #3 coming up and I’m ready.
A place inside my heart is where you live Memories of our start, the love you give Days when we're alone and you are in my heart The blueness of the trueness of our love Nights of moonlit skies, a gentle kiss Something in your eyes fills me with bliss Hold me in your arms, and then I will recall The blueness of the trueness of our love The thought of how we met still lingers on How could I forget that magic dawn? All the warm desire, the fire in your touch The blueness of the trueness of our love
These standards are all on the same key of THE JAZZ REAL BOOK. Except Autumn Leaves which is in its traditional key Bb ,/ Gm.. Great Tracks I enjoy practicing with all of them. I hope someday there will be the whole Jazz Real Book here. A to Z :-) Thanks..
A lot of discussions about the key, However, nobody posted their own play along as LJS suggest. This is about to learn Jazz standards, train your ears, practice a lot and you will not need a reference key written on the video. Excellent Backing track.. It would be interesting if you post one a little faster. (by the way. Is on Cm).
Who is the personnel? The guitarist is one of the best I've heard (understated and very lyrical), and the bass and drums are great too. All the instruments are worth listening to and emulating as though they are soloing, which in a sense they are.
+Dan McKinnon haven't thought about it that way, wow, as a guitar player I can learn a lot from his comping.. I'm having a lot of trouble with improvisation and quality comping, this is a great, learning from these play alongs!
to everyone complaining about not knowing the key: train your ear to know if what you're playing matches up with the track. Not only is it a fundamental skill, but a useful one as well.
Yes! .....please please add the key, (would be so helpful ) love all your tracks , so thanks for posting, .....such great choice of numbers 🎤 🎧🎼🎶🎵🎺🎷🎻🎸🎹 🎤
Thanks Jackson! We made these quite some years ago to help serve our jazz community, and we're glad that a lot of people are finding them a useful tool.
Love this interpretation! I am sharing it with the players at a local jazz open session. It sounds like it is around 120-130 bpm - is that about right? (I'm learning how to play for ballroom dancers and tempo is very important for them.) My experience at open sessions is that musicians tend to play too fast & too loud - probably due to showing off their skills & some incremental hearing loss from too much on stage amplification for many years. This play along is spot on as far as tempo but is at a low volume level even for a stage monitor at an intimate small club venue. I just normalized it thru Audacity and it is fine now. (I turn up my mains to project to the back of the room, but keep my stage monitors down to protect all the musicians' hearing.) Anyway, I appreciate the musicianship that went into this play along, so thank you for your hard work. Hey, do you sell MIDI's of your play alongs?
People, to make playbacks spend a lot of time. This page is offering their work, for free (!), here, on yt, and in their site. Can u be, musicians, a little bit more ginger, sensible, and, visit their site, as they are sujesting? humm? how about? it will make them more able to make more works like this for us. Is a simple thing to see! sorry about my english, not native here. hugs for every one!
Hi, The backing tracks sound amazing but I was wondering if you could please add the key in the title or description and whether it's tuned to a C, Eb, Bb or F. Thanks :)
Panmai Kernkhunthot You can check out the chord charts here: www.learnjazzstandards.com/jazz-originals/blue-bossa/ All of our play-alongs are in Concert C, but we offer the chord charts for Bb and Eb instruments as well!
Seems to be a recurring request" what key is it in"? I know we can look up the chord charts but It would be so much easier particularly for beginners of melodic instruments who just want to click on a track and play along in that key.For the sake of writing b flat M or a minor or what ever.when you consider how many people are requesting this information.Would it not be easy to simply supply that info with the track so it could be click once and go for it ?
What key, what key so many continue to ask. Why not consult your ears and your axe as to what it might be? It might sound ironic but we musicians don't listen enough...
True, and I think everyone should have singing classes. When you sing, there is no cheating such as, "oh I know the key so now I'm just gonna play notes from the right scale and that's it" (which gives awful results). You have to clearly hear every note in your lines, in relation with the backing music...
Hey! Hope you enjoy your practicing session. Feel free to post a video of you jamming along below! We made this backing track with a cool practice tool called Band-in-a-Box. If you want to check out all the things you can do with it click here: www.learnjazzstandards.com/band-in-a-box/
You people need to use your ears. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out the key or the chords. What chord does it start on? There's the tonic chord and there's your key signature.
I don't care about the key, I know how to find it... I was simply stating why isn't the key ON the video description if its use to TEACH and HELP people? I don't care about it personally. if someone is new to playing, they won't be able to guess what key the song is in.
Chris Robinson I think the underlying reason behind why they don't display it is that they're trying to get people to visit their website. Shocking, I know.
+Chris Robinson These are standards. They are rarely in different keys other than the ones they were written in. So a jazz musician would typically understand which key it's in, and if not, should look up the charts themselves. And in jazz the key changes frequently, so what would be the point in writing dozens of keys when instead, the player should be familiar with the chord changes. Every jazz song is different to solo to, and should be spent some time with.
This is NOT as good as IReal Pro. The bass sounds bad and he often plays notes that don't fit, or is way too busy. That's called "Faking It" and this is bad. IReal Pro is 100 times better in every way when it comes to all the options for practicing. You can export the audio as a Midi file to Logic or Pro Tools etc if you like and then change the notes, which you cannot do with Band In A Box.

This is the best!
Nice, slow, and groovy.
All the other versions I've heard here are too fast for my liking.
for those wondering, this is in the Key of C Minor(as shown in The Real Book)

That’s awesome Mel!
Ugh finally it's fun to practice. Thank you!
Excellent resource for learning jazz skills, thank you!

Great post!! Love the feel! Don't put the key, makes people have to use their ear.
Didn't think of it until I really listened to it. It's really 12 bar blues "+4". Hence the name "BLUE Bossa." 😉
VERY GOOD
A lot of discussions about the key, However, nobody posted their own play along as LJS suggest. Thank very much. Very very nice sound.
THANK YOU for this!!! really helps me practice this tune and much more fun than playing alone!
Awesome. Great for students. Appreciated

Answering my own post, here. Just saw on the LJS website that it might be Brent Vaartstra, (and if this is he) a jazz heavyweight.
+Dan McKinnon haven't thought about it that way, wow, as a guitar player I can learn a lot from his comping.. I'm having a lot of trouble with improvisation and quality comping, this is a great, learning from these play alongs!

People are here to learn, not to be belittled. Good for you for having the training you so require
Very useful, thank you very much :)
Yes! .....please please add the key, (would be so helpful ) love all your tracks , so thanks for posting, .....such great choice of numbers 🎤 🎧🎼🎶🎵🎺🎷🎻🎸🎹 🎤
This made my day...
Maravilhoso! Très Belle!
Fantastic!!
Good call on giving us a key.....Just one is all we ask.
c minor. then modulating into eb minor
it's cminor then changes to Db major actually... but yeah that's an Eb minor chord at that spot
+Locke19901 u right thanks homie
Congrats on breaking a million views
Thanks Jackson! We made these quite some years ago to help serve our jazz community, and we're glad that a lot of people are finding them a useful tool.
This is super, thanks so much♡♡♡♡
great !
Nice
Lovely backing tracks, I just wonder when to start playing on my saxophone? Thanks..
Should be in the key of Eb for those wondering.
it has the Eb armor, but its on Cm ;)
Good Class, but Anyone puzzled by why so many "Jazz Standards" did not originate in Jazz? .
I agree.

Do you have the sheets? Pls, i need the sheets for the whole band (srry for my english)
Juan Sebastian Tell everyone to go grab a real book. You and the band will have tunes for years. I know Blue Bossa is in the 6th edition.
We don’t have “sheets” in jazz, we have a “sheet” for everyone. Which consists of the chord progression and the melody, no more.
Good song
Hi,

precisely! Then you can work out the key by placing the scales.
Listen...
Band in a Box file ?

Ed the Sax Player Look up hear. and play and he will show you how to find the key. of any tune.

It’s e flat major

What is the bpm that this is played at?
thank you for uploading this backing track but.. the guitar rhythm is not comfortable. need guitar rhythm tune.
Muito bom
What are the chords 😢???
wat tempo is this
+vince noir Yep. NY is definitely elite when it comes to jazz. What instrument do you play?
You people need to use your ears. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out the key or the chords. What chord does it start on? There's the tonic chord and there's your key signature.
The first chord is not always the tonic. You are over simplifying and condescending at the same time.
True...but you've got the attitude.
Yeah, if you play piano. A student playing trumpet is not going to "figure out" any chords
tempo?
Someday I wanna see davie504 comment on one of these videos

Nice tracks. but why don't you ever put the key of the backing tracks, that would be helpful for NEW players. Im NOT new. I can figure it out.
Chris Robinson Hi Chris, if you visit each tune on LearnJazzStandards.com we have a chart and an explanation of the tune with the key, etc.
I don't care about the key, I know how to find it... I was simply stating why isn't the key ON the video description if its use to TEACH and HELP people? I don't care about it personally. if someone is new to playing, they won't be able to guess what key the song is in.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU WHERE TALKING DOWN TO ME.... JUST PUT THE KEY ON THE SONG FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW. HOW ABOUT THAT.
make it louder volume on it is crap

I’m sure he’s grateful for the the time it took you to write that. Maybe you could send an example of what “good” track sounds like.👍
