Are they still behind on the second fob distribution? when do you think I might get my fob and how will I get it - dealership or register at Toyota?

Apparently the key fob problem is a long way from being corrected. I purchased a 2024 Tundra Hybrid 1794 during Feb, 2024. The Manufactured date is 02/24. On advice of the dealership I called Toyota Brand Engagement Center about mid March, 2024. The Toyota advocate said that if I didn’t have my key fob by the end of April, 2024 I should call them back. OK, so on May 14, 2024 I called Toyota Brand Engagement Center as advised and they told me that I may get my 2nd key fob by July, 2024 if I’m lucky. Some of the local dealers of other car brands tell me they have very little trouble getting key fobs. Sounds like a ball was dropped by Toyota in some fashion.
@@stevenwelchtoyota Hopefully the problem will get corrected no matter the source of the inconvenience. I have ordered an aftermarket fob as of today. Our transportation situation requires that we have two working keys for the truck. I’m sure there must be thousands of others in the same boat.

Hey Steve, I love your videos, very informative. I have a 23 Venza LTD, I do not have that black sticker with a bar code on my door. All I have is a white sticker with tire info and a yellow caution sticker telling me that the load capacity was reduced. I checked all 4 doors and nothing, what gives. How do I find when my car was made?
I found it. I was looking at the inside of the front door jam, they stuck way at the bottom of the jam between the 2 doors. With the back door shut you can only see half of it.
Can you provide this date sheet as an attachment or Screen shot? By Vehicle for both 2023/2024. 2024 Tundra but a sheet by Vehicle is greatly appreciated.

23 tundra that I bought in December of last year (date 11/22). They never contacted me but when I scheduled a service I asked about it and they gave me one on September 18th
1st quarter of 2024 is what they are projecting. Your salesman didnt know what he was saying or just told you something to tell you something. In all fairness Toyota originally said they wanted all keys made by the end of the year but still not 2 months
I asked my key guy and he said that it should show once then clear. If it does not clear he suggested disconnecting the battery to reset the system or possibly a remove both keys from the system and then reprogram both. It is not supposed to show more than the initial start after the new key.
Actually I have a better idea, Take each key and hold it next to the push to start button with the back of it touching the button for about 5 seconds each then start the vehicle. Do it once with each key keeping the other key outside of the vehicle.

When is the first quarter? I hate hearing this terminology because every company has different dates for quarters. Heck my own first quarter is in May.
I'm ready to lose my mind. Leased a Rav4 Prime plug-in hybrid in May 2023. AFTER I signed all the paperwork they told me "Oh, right now we only have one key fob for you, but they should be in in a few weeks and we'll let you know when we've got the second one." SIX MONTHS LATER, still no second key fob. Their online technology sucks, I can't use the app to sign up for remote connect so that I can start the car with my phone if I lose the FOB. I'm ready to scream. I thought this vid would at least give me answer to WHEN I'd get my FOB - NOPE! The sticker inside the driver's side door has NO DATE on it and I can't even look the date up with the VIN. It's got a 17-digit VIN and the only thing I *might* be able to find with that is the year, not the month, of manufacture (10th digit is a P). I even still have the WINDOW STICKER with all the specs...NOPE. NO manufacturing date. If I lose this ONE KEY FOB they've given me, I can get INTO the car with the emergency manual key, but I can't start it. There is NO WAY to START THE CAR. The stupid app on the phone will let me use the phone to lock and unlock the doors and start the heating/defrost/AC, but it won't let me START THE DARN CAR. For the love of GOD, Toyota, get your sh*t together. (I've purchased two OEM FOBs online, hopefully will have them in a week, and have found a locksmith that can try to program them for me, but if his software doesn't work I have to go back to the crappy dealership and have it out with them, I'm sure they'll either say they can't do it or they'll try to charge me an arm and a leg.)
Toyota/Lexus looks like a scammer. They owe you money and say to you I can not tell you when I can return your money. Why nobody take legal action against them. Some people wait more than one year still no way to get their second key. They have key fobs but not going to return what they need to give you. No matter how you need the key fob ,they just do not care. Their priority is give it to new car delivery.

Will they mail us the fob, or will it be at the dealership for pickup?
You will have to take your vehicle in to be programmed. The keys are not preprogrammed
