That 3.5 engine is proven and bulletproof throughout the Honda/Acura lineup! No comparison to the Grand Cherokee.... when the Jeep is being crushed at the Junkyard, the Passport will still be rolling up the miles and setting new milestones!!
Just purchased this gun metallic gray with 27k miles. Paid $28k otd 2021. This midsize is underrated, imo. Huge inside and very comfortable interior with tons of features, including safety. Honda’s V6 are pretty good. Enough power and decent mpg. It can fit in a two car garage. Considered the Grand Cherokee Limited trims were more, and Honda V6 > GC V6. Took a peak at the new GC >$52K. No thank you. The $28K Passport was an easy choice. Ben, you are a hand full of videos I watch, and was happy to see your video about this vehicle. Keep up the good work!
I hate center arm rests, besides being uncomfortable they are ergonomically unhealthy. I've avoided buying a modern car because so many have a center arm rest. I'd buy the Passport but the fuel economy sucks.
I just bought a 2021 Passport Elite. If you can find it for 40 grand let me know. It’s a lot more than what your video said. I have owned GMC’s for 25 years because my brother retired from their and I got a employee discount. The GMC’s were breaking down so much we became known on a first name basis with the dealership. I have spoken to several mechanics who stated that if it wasn’t for American cars we would be out of business. The Passport rides beautiful. My brother in-law Owns a 2009 Pilot with 150 thousand miles and has had no problems with it except routine maintenance. I highly recommend the Passport. I am still trying to figure out all the gadgets it comes with. Goodbye GM you should have made better vehicles.
Life of a vehicle depends on how careful you are. I had an Infiniti I35 which I drove for 289,000 miles and them someone bought it for 5000. All cars should last 300000 miles, but we are very rough and do not take care of issues in time. No one explains gadgets of Passport, I still do not know a few. I think Passport will not last more than few years in the line up.
You know, it’s really funny. I worked for a GM dealership years ago. All the techs made 80-100,000 a year. Always busy. Later worked for an Acura and Honda dealer. Struggled for money because they didn’t break! I’ve owned 6 Hondas and just ordered this exact EX-L. White with the black interior… can’t wait to take delivery. My father has only owned GM products and I’ve been trying to convince him to get a Honda for his next lease. He knows, if he switches he’ll never go back and he’s against buying any vehicle that isn’t American. Although most Hondas are American made he doesn’t care.
Did you get any type of deal? I’m looking to get one but I’m trying to estimate how much of a down payment I might need? I know it depends on credit and all that type of stuff but what did you have to pay?
Yes, it does have a Sport mode, with manual shift paddles on the steering wheel. He completely also missed the nuances of the sophisticated drivetrain.
My 2021 Passport EXL , 3 day post purchased has rusty “ Knuckle “ covers under the car , next to the wheels. Honda says it’s not a problem.... should I be concerned?
I have squeaky brake (Honda EX-L 2020) from the very beginning, but Honda technician refuses to believe and say he cannot hear sound of screeching brakes
I have a Grand Cherokee and my wife has a Passport. For me, the Grand Cherokee is more comfortable due to the seats. The seat bottoms in the Passport are too short for me and I'm only 5'10". The Passport is very good though. The 3.5 lacks low end punch to GM's 3.6 but the Honda sounds angry at the vtec switchover which makes it seem more sporty. For long term ownership, I would go with the Honda based on proven reliability over the years.
Ha ha, I agree with you on that. I so wish they had back lights like Honda CRV or something similar because it would really improve the look. That combine with leaving old gear shifter instead of going to buttons, like they now did in Pilot as well, and it would win them so much more customers. I bought it because it fits a lot of my needs and other SUV's / Cross overs didn't but I hate button gear shifter.
Is the engine "Direct Injected" or "port injected"? The GDI design has been a problem source in other manufacturers' engines..... If Honda has overcome those difficulties, I think it would be worth a mention.
Good video. I have a 2021 Honda Passport Elite AWD and it has LOTS more options than this EX-L does. This is my second Passport and I hope it will be bulletproof like Hondas are known for. One critique though, the "D/S" is for "Drive" and "Sport" mode. In Sport mode you can use the paddle shifters for going up/down the gears. I have found that if you're hauling a trailer (I have a 6' X 12' enclosed trailer, approx. 1200 lbs. empty, and a Honda 4-wheeler, approximately 600 lbs.) you should put the transmission in to 7th gear or so to get the acceleration and lessen the stress on the motor shifting too early.
Why the fuck sake Honda, Toyota, and all other Japanese manufacturer put infotainment screen with 40% bezels with only 60% screen in most of the SUVs. Looks fucking soo outdated. When I see like this, it completely deal breaker for me.
Because it has 20" rims and large tires with low sidewalls. It gives more sporty/ off road look. If you like more comfortable ride of Pilot you need to negotiate or buy 18" rims and get different tires or just sell original and get different. I didn't know about it until I actually got on Passport forums.

Cut Jeep some slack its also part Fiat..🤣🤣🤣
Yup. I've previously owned a Jeep, for 10 years. Never, ever again.
I have the 2019 black Passport EX-L, and I still love it! It comes with everything!! Super convenient, and great for my toddler.

I wish the passport and pilot from seats just had a normal center column with arm rest not those individual pilot seat arm rest.
I hate center arm rests, besides being uncomfortable they are ergonomically unhealthy. I've avoided buying a modern car because so many have a center arm rest. I'd buy the Passport but the fuel economy sucks.

This is the EXL. Elite is 1 more model level up.

Honda really needs to put the 10-speed AT in this.
Why?
@@marcol8520better acceleration and better on gas
Yay! Another Honda Video :)
Best review I've watched.
1:59, Pilot or Passport?
Excellent review, quick and straightforward, thanks!
Hello my friend, i had a Honda passport 1998
Here in Honduras is hard to buy a Carr, economic is horrible
I had one as well - green. We just got rid of it😀
Honda built a awesome SUV if you have kids this vehicle for you
I'm really happy that my uncle recently bought this Passport... :)
Great video... I just got a 2021 Honda Passport. An awesome SUV
Did you get any type of deal? I’m looking to get one but I’m trying to estimate how much of a down payment I might need? I know it depends on credit and all that type of stuff but what did you have to pay?
Great video Ben the Honda Passport looks alright keep up the hard work
Hmmmm keep up the hard work Ben🔥💪
SO, why does the Passport cost so much? You didn't answer your own question.
I opened this because of that thumbnail. No answer. :(
2:01 pilot or passport?
👉@1:59👈
Did you mean full Sideview of "PASSPORT"🤔
S for shifting? S is for the sport mode you said the car didn't have. Manual doesn't engage until you hit the paddle shifters.
He also called that blank spot in the back "storage" which its a blank nothing spot.
Yes, it does have a Sport mode, with manual shift paddles on the steering wheel. He completely also missed the nuances of the sophisticated drivetrain.
From the grill like you said it looks like a pilot from 3:06 idk why it looks like a Ford explorer or edge😂🤭
Great job! 👍👍
Which would you get? This or the jeep grand Cherokee?
Depends on what I would use it for
I have a Grand Cherokee and my wife has a Passport. For me, the Grand Cherokee is more comfortable due to the seats. The seat bottoms in the Passport are too short for me and I'm only 5'10". Nice video, but I test drove the Pilot and Passport days apart and could immediately tell a difference in the drive.
i like honda passport but what i don't like are the turn signals, they are very old fashioned. does it come with subwoofer in the back
Ha ha, I agree with you on that. I so wish they had back lights like Honda CRV or something similar because it would really improve the look. Just got one. I love it!
Does it have blind spot assist on both sides of the mirror
Sure does🙂
I know with all the reviews you do its easy to confuse models at 2:01, you referred to this model as a Pilot. Just messing with you.
Typical Ben
Is the engine "Direct Injected" or "port injected"? The GDI design has been a problem source in other manufacturers' engines..... If Honda has overcome those difficulties, I think it would be worth a mention.
Lol “here is a full side view of the Pilot” think you are reviewing a Passport bro
Also pulled a Suzuki King Quad with my Passport today on my channel 😂
How much?
Yes it is Honda Passport 5 Seat Compared To Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Jeep Wrangler, Chevy Blazer, Subaru Outback, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX 9
Funny I’m looking at this to replace my 10 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee that has actually been very reliable.
At 2:02 he clearly says “Pilot”. Should I bother watching the rest?
Clearly, you weren't listening. He is comparing it to the Pilot in many areas throughout this video.
Good video. I have a 2021 Honda Passport Elite AWD and it has LOTS more options than this EX-L does. This is my second Passport and I hope it will be bulletproof like Hondas are known for.

Me alegro le das un abraso a Natalie de parte dos nosotros y saludos a Mamita Sanchez

looks like something out of 2003 but I love it still.
The ride from the get go is very bumpy. That’s an immediate dealbreaker for me.

Wtf did u ride in? Mine smooth af
I want one ... This model ... The new one's are not as good lookin'
It's nice
A foot parking brake…welcome to 1995 🙄

I never thought I would be saying this but the Telluride is better
Or the Palisade.
