Army Deployment Force: The Making of an ADF Trooper

  • To qualify as an ADF trooper, aspiring soldiers must make it through the 5-month Combat Qualification Course (CQC).
    Besides tough physical training, CQC trainees develop key capabilities that enable them to deal with any crises.
    These include the use of a variety of weapon systems, unarmed combat, as well as soldiering skills in conventional and urban operations which allows them to deal with different terror scenarios in peacetime contingency operations.

    ADF are real tough mofos.
    Humble and really top grade professional soldiers in our SAF.
    They train tough and real. No bs in their exercises.
    I'm glad that finally there is some media coverage on this unit to give them some recognition for their service, esp those veterans whom have left. It's not much compared to what they have gone through, but it's something at least.

      its subjective , each have their own complexity. Of course we've heard of stories where people sign up for adf but couldn't complete cqc while for ranger course the passing rate is heck of a all time low so they really weed out quality for these units. As for commando they do have something special that requires a painful process to obtain . thus conclusion if you're train in cqc you'll definitely feel you went through the toughest , same for the rest. side note regulars from guards , commandos and other tough units do fluke the ranger course.

    • @johnwig285
      @johnwig285 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not sure if we would equate it to Delta but it is a specialised infantry unit. Another specialised non-spec-ops infantry unit would be Guards, but that in particular consists of mostly 2-year conscripts, unlike this ADF which is mostly regulars who just signed on after conscription. The training is definitely challenging, not too different when I went through the SAFINCOS training back in the early 80's. Back then, we were all tough dudes too, we had to be, as we were trained by some fanatical insane career soldiers in the singapore army. However, as tough the training as it seems to be, it will remain to be seen when real bullets start flying, artillery shells start raining down, when you seen your comrades in a army humvee gets blown up, whether these contemporary NSF soldiers will really stand and fight. today, most singaporeans , especially the new generation, enjoy a very easy affluent life. Singapore is economically and politically very stable, for the past decades.
    As compared with say the Israeli's , whose country is under a real constant threat of annihilation from surrounding muslim countries, they will fight as they have no choice. The same goes for Ukrainians, they fight because they do not have a choice. Singaporeans, the young men today, not so sure.

    Spotted a tactical mistake. Same as aiming from behind a wall or cover. You need to make sure u are using the correct ADS position. When ADS behind a balastic shield refer to 2:40. Standing to the right (from our view) does not give the shooter cover. Correct position for the shooter should be on the left or transit his rifle to his left shoulder. This will then provide meaningful protection against incoming rounds.

      What do you mean? The point of an army is supposed to be defense of the homeland. THis is exactly what it's doing.
