Got my encoders today! Waiting on my main box and ignition along with the other buttons, wanted to say thanks for giving out such good videos on this stuff, not en electrically savvy person so I’m glad you made it nice and simple:)
Looks good; although you are using 3 input on the encoder in this way; while you need just 2. Technically you can use one single button to turn on electrics and turn on the engine, so every rotation of the key could be the same exact button and turn on the electric then holding the key would turn on the engine. If you have just that key device that is fine, but if you use a cockpit with a wheel, shifter, pedals, button box and dashboard, you run out of controls pretty quickly and unless you want to buy a lot of usb encoder boards, you end up saving on connections
all the way to the left is not lock, it is accessory only. Power goes only from BAT to ACC. When the ignition is in the Run position, it connects BAT to ACC and IGN. and the start position disconects ACC and connects IGN and START

thank you, could you do a tutorial on how to connect / use a push / pull momentary button to simulate parking brake, i tried some ideas, but no success. thanks again.
You could use a momentary (on) off (on) toggle switch as your parking brake. Ground or common wire to centre pole on the switch and then one wire to each of the other terminals. Once plugged into your board, you'd assign both buttons (down press and up press) as the handbrake then you could press the toggle down to apply, and toggle up to release the parking brake.
Ive followed this to the letter and the game controller in control panel shows all three "buttons" regardless of key position. Any idea? UPDATE: Check the polarity of the joystick encoder. I had to reverse the wire colors and everything worked.

To turn the engine off, I simply press the START button again. Alternatively, I also have an ignition key on the button box which I can use to turn on ELECTRICS, then I can press the START button to start the engine. Using Joy-to-Key allows me to change which keys are bound to which physical button actions without having to change them in the game. For example, if I have bound the E key to ELECTRICS, then I can assign this to any button or mutiple buttons on my button boxes, and can change where it's located.
