This is the first I'm finding out that Calumon can digivolve!
I still hope that the Calumon in Tamers can get some of Beelzemon's data, and digivolve into Leomon.

The English Dub of Frontier called this form “ShadowSeraphimon” and the TCG follows suit. So “BlackSeraphimon” would just be a different variant for that video game only. At least, that’s my take on it.
Eh... a lot of variant Digimon have multiple names in the English dub. The digimon called ShadowWereGarurumon in Frontier has also been known as BlackWereGarurumon, WereGarurumon (Black), and WarGarurumon (Black), in various media.
I love this type of video , it easily could’ve been a top 10 list but you gave us a list of every digimon that doesn’t digivolve . Great work as always Karn!

It is my belief that Citramon would have similar evolution routes to BomberNanimon, being its stand in, kind of like how Sistermon Ciel had similar routes to Noir when introduced
10:31 Another accessory digimon that can evolve now is Minidekachimon, which before the Adventure reboot, only ever existed as part of Atamadekachimon in the DigiWindow toy. Now it is an entire separate digimon.

Out of all of them, I would love to see those fan designed crowdfund reward Digimon get folded into the franchise more and given evos, even if it's just with existing Digimon (though obviously dedicated lines would be so incredible!)
I feel like there's probably some reason why they haven't, but they all have so much personality and seeing them woven into the franchise more would be super cool!

Okihadamon (or whatever the grave mon is) has so much potential to get a line.
Maybe the grave upgrades into a better looking one, meaning although it doesn't evolve into it; it's various forms could be counted as evolutions.
Or possibly the grave evolves into a ghost or a zombie? Maybe go the route of pharoahmon and has bits of the grave surround it like armour?
The fact we have a digitama digimon that can also evolve would mean a grave isn't impossible.
Just imagine in a v-pet, your digimon passes away and becomes the grave. There could be a chance after so long of waiting with it sitting there; that it could evolve into say:
Memorialmon > Graveyarmon > Cryptmon and then its final evolution > Rebirthmon.
Rebirthmon itself could be a digimon that if you somehow reached it, would let you have your digimon be reborn as another digimon line; keeping all the stats it can from its prior states. A sort of reward for somehow fighting against the impossible and difficult evolution?

Ohhh, I didn't know that little Batterymon guy was just a low battery notification on a toy. I saw it on a tier list of Digimon when I was just getting into the franchise and I didn't know where to put it. (If you're curious I made a new tier for it called "Mother 3 enemy-lookin' ass".)

I know you mean Digimon that both haven't digivolved to or from anything, but one thing I think is really interesting and weird is that despite it existing for over 20 years, Frogmon has never been able to digivolve. Several Digimon can become Frogmon but that's where the line stops. It really shocks me that Frogmon has never been given a digivolution in any form when just about every other armor Digimon have multiple.

For the Chinese digimons the shou is literal Chinese character for monster, but uh the names are kind of weird. Most are just descriptions of the digimon. Daxuerenshou is literally Big Snowman Monster (frigimon is chinese is xuerenshou), Zihuohuoshou is fire monkey monster (etemon in chinese is yuanhuoshou the huoshou is the monkey monster part and uses same characters), Nutufushou is female earth bat monster (nufutu is a constellation), Xinyuehushou is heart moon fox monster (Xinyuehu is also a constellation), heshouwushou is Fo-ti monster (fo-ti is the name of the plant), jinsihoushou is golden monkey mon, shoujishou is cellphone monster, kuileishou is awkward enough puppet (kuilei is word for puppet but also manipulated) monster, original puppetmon in Chinese is Muoushou which is wood idol monster, Loujin'goushou is Loujin'gou monster (loujin'gou is a chinese constellation dog), Nuwashou is nuwa monster(Nuwa was a chinese mythological empress that is depicted as a Lamia), Anhei Nuwashou is just Dark Nuwa monster, and Fuxishou is Fuxi monster (Fuxi is brother of Nuwa and both are mythological depictions).
They would probably be translated to as below names.

Fire Etemon
Nutufumon
Xinyuehumon
Fo-timon
Golden Etemon
Cellphonemon
Kuileimon(puppetmon which be confusing)

OchiMuysamon is such an oddball to me and it is such a shame that he never really got to do much, let alone be a part of a DigiXros. I was really expecting him to be the manga’s version of Knightmon and we would have gotten a more samurai themed Shoutmon X4 version, a counterpart to Shoutmon X4K, but nope.
Honestly Xros Wars as a whole really dropped the ball with the DigiXros concept in my opinion. It is such a great concept, but we didn’t get enough out of it. I get that they couldn’t just throw it around all willy-nilly in the anime and manga, but in the side media and v-pets they really should have cut loose. Heck, some of the joke DigiXrosses from Hunters would’ve been neat to have been taken seriously (preferably without the silly Xros Up naming convention that just drives me up the wall). There’s also that Digimon Fusion game that never came to be that had a lot of cool concept art for original DigiXrosses, like Shoutmon with Shadramon and Dracomon with BlueMeramon.
Oh well. The card game at the very least should eventually give me some more closure. I mean, KingWhamon got a card and it still doesn’t have a reference book listing! It is the only Digimon in the card game that I know of that doesn’t have one! Not saying that there aren’t others, just that I don’t know what Digimon they are. Come on card game! You added Shortmon for crying out loud! Give my man OchiMusyamon some love!
The card game let me down a major amount when BT19 was announced to be specifically focused on the manga, but we only received 5 manga-original Digimon of the dozens that were in it.

Yeah, Bun is kinda odd in the sense that I feel it could fit perfectly in any line in the beta artwork, but at the same time, without changing much, it could be in more absurd Digimon lines like Numemon, and I think it could even dip into a bunch of holy digimon, even Culumon itself. And at the same time if you told me it evolved into Zeromaru, I'd also believe it.
6:16 Don't forget Chaos Dukemon whose color pallet is hilariously inconsistent with the DMCG card St-699 Chaos Dukemon being a real standout in that regard (though given it was a picture of a rendered 3D model, it may just have been the lighting)
Cardmon from Digimon world 3. It has a dozen different forms but they don't digivolve into each other or anything else. They exist to drop booster packs to the player upon being defeated.
Not sure if we *see* them evolve in World 3 but they are evolutions of each other
They are basically implied to Digivolve from each other. I don’t remember if an NPC mentions it, but they are at least meant to.
I like the idea of Death Evolution
I like the idea of a good themed death evolution like a tamer and their patamon were very close
or a tamer and their leomon were very close
and their partner is dying and the emotional moment,.the tamer is in tears that there is a death dna bio merge or evolution

One I would add would be Parallelmon, although... It definetly is trickier sort, as while it does not specify in Wikimon, it says "Any Adult Digimon with a D-Scanner] or D-3", and was a card once.
I like the deep cuts here with Digimon that technically "have" never digivolved even if we know they absolutely could. I'd say that's a silly stretch of the rules, but really where else are we gonna get a chance to talk about Gaiamon lol?

So the whole thing about the Red MetalGarurumon. It only exists in the Xros Loader, along with a few other exclusive recolors, and has no DigiXrosses in said toy
6:39 idk where I saw this, but the mercurymon Seraphimon has always been “Shadow Seraphimon” to me while the Seraphimon here is just a black variant, kinda like most Black variant design on like black Agumon, Black Gatomon, etc
ShadowSeraphimon is the dub name, and yes BlackSeraphimon (DW3) is a Black variant that is an unobtainable boss character that fits in with the other Black Boss Digimon; BlackImperialdramon, BlackKingNumemon, BlackMegaGargomon, and BlackWarGreymon.
Ah, this reminds me of a custom art idea i've had for a while. What if these non digimon creatures transformed into proper digimon after absorbing the core of the digimon they are attached to upon death?

I'm not sure if this counts since it doesn't even have a separate page on the wiki, but at one point in the second half of Xros Wars, there is a red version of LadyDevimon. Now, given that Vi-Elecmon is different enough to be called a variant, im shocked they haven't used this version of LadyDevimon again, even as some bridge between Witchmon and... I don't know, MutantLillithmon or something? Again, I'm unsure if it even counts for this list, but I've actually always like this Red LadyDevimon and want it to come back.
in Links you could obtain the mutant digimon as PVP rewards and they evolved along their normal lines, IIRC, so they don't qualify anyway I think

Something I never thought about is the Digi-Beetle from Digimon World 2. It's clearly alive, and never discussed what exactly it is. It doesn't have the Mon suffix at the end so I'm guessing they never intended for it to be a Digimon however. Would be interesting to see it reintroduced into the series with all the trains and helicopters though.

Panbachimon is probably the biggest injustice of this, not only do we not have any evolutions, we never even got a level for it, at least Yo! Yo!mon and those special prize Digimon got levels, but all this time and Panbachimon is still left behind, even Shortmon and Weddinmon got their uplifting before it, and Panbachimon was in the anime while those two were just in the manga for a while.

great video, I would say I personally do not count close variations like OchiMushyamon, or recolors that are the same species, or digimon that are enhanced or mode changes of existing Digimon like VenomMyotismon Undead as never having digivolved I always assume they either evolve from the same line as the original variant or are a slide/mode change/death digivolution of the original
I would love to see evolutions added to a lot of these some of the above examples included too.
I would count Ohakadamon as a digivolution the same way Bakemon can digivolve from a digimon losing a fight in Digimon World 1 but I don't know if I would count it as an actual Digimon.

Manga and other things tend to have 'the code was edited' technically different digimon that dont have to be fully animated which is cool. That said, lobatterymon to batterymon true combo evolution, or battery and hibattery.

I know you covered Calumon apperently digivolving in other media but specifically the one in Tamers never Digivolved and seemed to exist in that series to trigger Digivolution for other Digimon but not for himself. I never really understood why the Anime had this mechanic where Calumon was just always around. His personality reminded me a lot of Mew from Pok'emon. He was just kind of there to be cute and I think like ONE time a plot involved him being injured so the other Digimon couldn't Digivolve anymore.
The anime has also shown before that there can be more than one Digimon of the same species so maybe other Calumon have Digivolved but that one from Tamers specifically has never digivolved.
I mean most of the plot of Tamers is centered around Calumon as he is quite literally the physical manifestation of the ability of Digimon to digivolve.
So, one thing you have to remember about this video is that it refers to _species,_ not individuals. Calumon can digivolve into Salamon in two different games.

Copymon does digivolve, the point of it is for jogresses it copies the digimon it sees from a then fuses with yours so you can get the next evo. unless you are talking specifically in the copymon form
Yeah I guess once it copies it can then evo, as Copymon the entity it's never Digivolved but as I address in its section it's murky regardless.
It basically BECOMES the Digimon it copies so weird one.

Nope, Calumon Digivolved in a bunch of games, Datirimon did in Super Rumble recently. Neither got designated forms but cam Digivolve.

Calumon can be turned into Sukamon because of KingSukamon in the TCG.
Also plenty of cards evolve from White. It's just Calumon's level that means it doesn't evolve besides into Sukamon token.
The think about evolving to sukamon because game mechanics I take it like a bit of a stretch but anyway... Also I take it is more a curse than an Evo.
And what I mean with the other point is for example: ukkomon can't evolve further because almost no lv 4 digi can't evolve from white, most top ends are white. Kimeramon is special case. If you can give me another examples I will be served. Also sorry if I sound pedantic or arrogant

Fujitsumon, Amon and Umon still can't digivolve, since in the card game, the rules explicitly prevent them from doing so.
To quote the reminder text on the newer tokens.
* Tokens can't be included in decks or Digi-Egg decks.
* Tokens can't Digivolve.
* Cards can't be placed under tokens.
* When a token leave an area, it's removed from the game.
The tokens become Sukamon tokens. They are changing, sliding etc to Sukamon.

Most, if not all tokens can't digivolve in the TCG.
I am aware. The tokens are changed into Sukamon by KingSukamon, that's essentially Digivolution lorewise. At least a slide or mode change.
