Clarence House, the primary home of Prince Charles and Camilla, is an architectural treasure within walking distance of Buckingham Palace in London. The impressive four-story building was designed between 1825 and 1827, and before Charles and Camilla came to live at the estate, it was home of the late Queen Mother for nearly 50 years. Although the royal family's official site says the building "underwent extensive refurbishment and redecoration" to become a home for Charles, much remained the same as it had in the early- to mid-1900s. Even the queen's furniture and art remain in the rooms they were originally placed. Sharon - If Camilla loved Prince Charles she could have waited for him instead of jumping into a marriage with her husband. Personally, she destroyed all hope for Prince Charles to have a decent relationship with Princess Diana by interfering in their lives that is what upset me. If I loved someone and can't have him I would set aside my feelings and not disturb their relationship - that's what a decent mature adult would do - not act selfish and entitled to ruin other people's lives.
The Queen would not allow them to marry cause Camilla was a commoner and had past boyfriends.

Camilla makes a far better royal consort than Diana. She doesn't try to be the only star in the room. Meghan Markle is Diana with knobs on. The point of a consort is to compliment their spouse not to try to out do them.

So true. I can’t understand why we have a wealthy so-called royal family and homeless on the streets to whom royalty seem oblivious. The reasons for homelessness are many (escaping abuse, eviction etc) and not all can be addressed but enough homes for all UK subjects should be the aim. Easy for me to say: but surely more can be done by those with money and power?

For me everything became just so evident when I had seen the documentary "The real Diana- in her own words" . With all my respect for Diana Spencer's memory and fans, but she was incredibly childish, she wasn't intelligent at all (these are facts) and in my personal opinion she was hysterical and had a false sense of humility.
H.R.H. Prince Charles always loved H.R.H. Camilla but it was a forbidden love. Despite all these, he sacrificed it for his country, family and tradition. Diana Spencer was the perfect candidate at the time and H.R.H. just accepted his destiny of being with someone whom he doesn't really love. Just think a bit about how many royals (but not just) married to the person whom they didn't love because they had obligations and duties. That's what happened in this marriage. H.R.H. is not to be blamed severely... yes, he shouldn't had married to her, he should had try to make the impossible and marry to the women he really loved, but look at the other side... he had a huge obligation. Was he lying? Of course he was. But what could had he said to everyone - "I'm marring to a woman whom I don't really love, but she is my duty to satisfy my country and family"? Life isn't black and white for anyone. Just try to be objective and don't judge so simply. He married to someone whom he didn't love and who had a mental condition which later made her hysterical [I'm sorry, but someone who cuts and throws herself on the steps while she's blessed to have a baby... I can't find other words for this. In my humble opinion, a real lady (specially one which was highly educated in an aristocratic circle) respects herself and even more the baby she's blessed with].
At the end Diana Spencer turned out to be the worst choice. She was too young and her aristocratic education turned out to be useless. For a public person she was splendid... but not for a royal. As a royal or person in a high position you know that you have many duties and many many sacrifices to do. And she failed ... look at Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II... did she had a great marriage? I guess everyone knows the answer. But she endured quietly and done her duties as she had to do. And this is the vocation of every royal or leader.
Yes, you might think "and where is the honesty? This all is just made up ..." As a leader (but specially queen/king/prince who is devoted or should be devoted to God) you sacrifice everything for your people; even your happiness. This doesn't mean that you can't be happy (Blessed Charles Habsburg and Queen Zita for example had a very happy marriage) , but it means, when things turn out to be bad, to do your best and sacrifice as much as you can to give a stability for your people. And Diana Spencer failed in her duty...
If she would had been a great princess, mother and wife, she wouldn't had leave, she wouldn't had let her jealousy and hysteria to take control over her. This is not Oprah Winfrey's show when you have to prove what a brave woman you are and how independent you can be. These are not values in such a position and leftist or anti- aristocracts have to understand this.
I agree; H.R.H. shouldn't had marry her so quickly, he should had been honest from the very begging and tell her that he loves someone else (thing which we don't know if it really happened or not) but Diana Spencer shouldn't had accept to marry a future king with such a vulgar, provocative character (compared to general royals) and mental issues.
H.R.H. Princess Camilla is attached by the big majority of the people. Did she failed as a wife first time? Indeed. But for me, seeing how she accepted her destiny of being one of the most hated women in UK, all the critics and hate she gets (and she was very much aware of these) are telling me that she is very humble and brave.

He never went out and said what a terrible princess, wife and mother Diana Spencer was! You said it with such a grace and respect! I always think that Camilla loves Charles for Charles more than the "angel" did. Emotional immaturity is a big factor to failure of marriages. People superficially base their opinion on beauty and flashes of cameras, but it takes way more to an happy marriage. Everybody selectively forgets the multiple affairs she got in , including with married men; her upbringing from a dysfunctional and broken family, and even herself said how she had tried to destroy her dad's second marriage. To me not an angel but a broken woman who needed help , but instead was helping everybody else. She could have grown and gained real strenght , but her manipulative and victimizing way got over her! People also omit to remember that she died in the arms of her lover , not wearing a seat bell! I am not judging , but which responsble ,caring, loving mother of two young princes does that? Anyway, people are too emotional to think and have a sane opinion. Thank for providing with a balanced contribution to the irrational and hyppocritical adoration!

I feel so torn about this. I really loved princess Diana for she was a beautiful person and wonderful mother to her boys and Charles did her bad in so many ways. What Camilla and Charles did to her was just wrong and heartbreaking and should be ashamed. Life is sometimes so unfair the way things work out. Camilla and Charles should have been together in the first place as they do seem to be very much in love but my heart hurts for what's happened to diana.
