This is an absolutely wonderful video. Ironically, I'm a United fan, but I found your analysis of United's unsuccessful transition from Busby to McGuinness really insightful.
I'm astonished that your channel has so few subscribers. It's excellent. I was at that game as a nine-year-old standing on an upturned crate in the Annie Road.
I think these series are so informative, there must be a lot of footage around which hasn't been shown.
My first memory of Peter Thompson was watching him thunder a 25 yard shot past Gordon banks in a 2-0 win at stoke city in January 1970, hew johns commenting , Thompson trying to impress a watching Alf Ramsey, he ran john marsh ragged and yet was one of the unlucky 6 to get left out of the 22 picked by Alf to defend the world cup in Mexico,
I remember this game. I listened to it on the radio living in Munster on my Dad's posting there. The scoreline left a scar.
Another good one, always look out for you videos when they're released.
A subtle tribute to Bobby Charlton as well, R.I.P.
A great channel, though it would be nice if you'd keep the team sheet up just a little bit longer.
Where to next? Will you go through all the seasons? It'd be great if you could.
Yeah, the plan is to go through game-by-game. Obviously I'm able to get through a season fairly quickly right now as there weren't many games shown in the 60s but by the time we get to the 90s and 00s we should have the majority of footage available so I can't imagine I'll ever catch up to present day.
@@HoldingMidfield Sound. I like the pace you have here. Too many games would be stodgy and off-putting. I binged this series in two goes. What gave you the idea? I'm promoting the channel all I can through social media. Can you get endorsed by SOS (Spirit of Shankly) etc. It's worthy of Lottery funding. Maybe the FA museum, which used to be in Preston?
@@williamfitch1408 Thanks. I can't remember to be honest. I've always enjoyed football history and was analysing modern Liverpool matches so the idea must have just come to me.
I don't know and we're in a bit of a grey area legally (I'm using copyrighted materials although I would consider it fair use as it's transformative in nature) so I'd prefer to avoid too much official attention.
Fair enough. I see your point.@@HoldingMidfield
I popped onto this site for Liverpool data- what do I get? , a history of `Man Utd` that's what. A pox on it!
