I’ve always been a huge fan of Mugsy Bogues. The fact that he was able to compete at the most elite level with the best of the best is a testament to his incredible skill and tenacity. I think it’s within the realm of possibility that he might’ve been like Michael Jordan or Lebron James if he was as tall as them. Truly an inspiration and a legend.
We ran into to you with your family at the Roanoke regional airport and your kindness to my sons made a wonderful experience for them you gave them an autograph and they cherish it to this day you took valuable time away from your family to build up my boys and they cherish the moment. Thank you Sir
I hope he knows how much of an inspiration he was and is..... I was a teen and looked forward to watching him all the time...... He made me say Wowwww, like a LOT.
What isn’t talked about much is that he was a phenomenal athlete. Of course, at his size, he had to be top notch skill wise, but he was incredibly strong and quick to the extreme. In his prime he was the quickest guy in the league. He had a 40”+ vertical. Players would try to bully him and find out he was stronger than they were. His passing and ball control were the stuff of legend. Point guards would have small forwards bring up the ball to keep from getting ripped. He rarely turned over the ball and has the lowest turnover to assist ratio of any player with over 1,000 assists career. He is often overlooked as a great handle but while he wasn’t flashy he could go anywhere with the ball and no one could take it from him. His mental toughness must have been massive. Probably his only real weakness was a lack of range.
One of my heroes! I'm his height and I loved playing basketball. Had the tall guys on our HS team teach me the moves and I had such fun. Got called Mighty Mouse a lot.
I LOVED Mugsy! Because of him, I used to get into arguments with people telling me that at 5 foot 9 I'll "never make it in the NBA" but then again, Mugsy was also fast AF, had no problem guardian YOUR BEST PG and he also had great hand-eye coordination so he racked up steals and had a nose for the ball so always seemed to be around it or setting himself up to make a make a play and last but not least he straight up had HOPS! He could get up there and you would never know that he was 5 foot 3 People always think about Spud Webb as the short guy who made it against some crazy odds but man, Mugsy not only made it against incredible odds but he made it against ALL ODDS and while also producing, in the NBA on too of that Much respect to Mugsy, he's truly one of a kind and not too many guys can relate to his personal experience in the NBA!
This is the most inspiring video I have ever seen, it really just shows that you can be anything or do anything if you just set your mind to it. Muggsy deserves his recognition no doubt about it.
I love Muggsy Bogues I believe if anybody should be an inspirational speaker. He would be the perfect candidate. He is the personification of the saying it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but it’s the size of the fight in the dog. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe he played for 15 years. The things he was able to accomplish were incredible. I am.
I remember as a kid that the only reason I was familiar with the Charlotte Hornets was because Muggsy played for them. He was next to Larry Bird in my opinion the most entertaining player in the NBA to watch. He had the heart of a lion on the court and he played like a lion after a hunk of meat, the meat being the ball. He left it all on the floor and that is the true measure of a true champion.
Nah. His hands aren't big enough. More than that, it would hurt like hell to land after going up that high. That doesn't mean he wasn't great. I think he was. But he had limits
This man was an inspiration…. And he played in an era that was very physical too. And he made his mark and held his own. An example of not letting anyone tell you what you can’t do in life. How many people wanted to make it to the NBA?
He was my favorite player back in the early 90s. I used to rock my charlotte hornets jersey and muggsy made me want to play harder. One of the greatest
Just watched some Muggsy highlights. He had Larry Johnson to throw alley oops to. Reminded me of how much i used to love the score highlights as a kid. Muggsy to Grandmama. Muggsy stats were impressive during his Charlotte years and fell apart after his knee injury.
Just worry about you man Be aware, and look at the bigger picture This is your story fr don't let people assume they can take advantage of your own mental and physical being
AssumingTrash68 yea, i'm 16 and i'm 5'4 it's kinda over for me but hey we get used to it, never had people bully me tho if that's the case to some of you, stay strong you'll be good
I really empathize with him. I grew extremely late, so i was under 5’ until grade 11, and i can confirm kids are cruel. Fortunately, i did end up growing to 6’2 after high school, but i still have the mentality of the small kid stuck in me, its hard to get rid of.
All the best players hated getting guarded by Muggsy. Getting in the NBA is a lottery shot at the best of times. Even MJ struggled to get in the NBA so it shows the quality of what kind of man Muggsy is. This was awesome. Inspiring
Unfortunately, people should NOT be motivated by him. Why? Because inch for inch, he may have been the greatest athlete to ever play in the NBA! He could have dominated in any professional sport that he wanted, if he had picked a different sport. Dan Issel said that we're going to see another Michael Jordan before we ever see another Tyrone Bogues!!
When you doing a video on mugsy bogues and in your thumbnail asking if short people can make it in the NBA.. Im thinking to myself thats gotta be the stupidest question ever or is it a rhetorical one?
"You're short you need to be sitting on the curb with your feet swinging" That killed me. 💀 I hope I don't burn in hell for this. 😂😂😂😂😂 But for real though, Mugsy was a killer back in the day. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

At the same time if he was at that height he could be a completely different player and it could acc go against him but who knows.
@@ChillsCentral if Charlotte would've kept their team together. He could've had a better career alongside Zo and Grandmama
This man needs a movie
Fax
he's so fast I don't think there's anyone that could represent him in a movie convincingly.
Someone up vote this all the way to the big screen
@@sivadyert What about Kevin Hart? Even though his 1 inch shorter than him.
@Prn 97 yeah but he was an alien
i know nothing about basketball, but the fact that he became such a great basketball player makes him such an inspiration 💯💯
One of my favorite athletes of all time , thank you sir for being you.
Mugsy was an inspiration for anyone who was short who loved basketball, and wanted to play and he made them believe you can.

I've been a Mugsy fan since the first time that I saw him at Wake Forest. BIG BIG HEART!!!
Borders are powerless by the strenght of the motivated mind! Thx for sharing!
Inspiration.
One of the greatest of all time.

How intelligent this man!!! It is joy to listen him. Genius

What a brilliant mind and expressed complex issues with compassion and self effacing simplicity- erudition at its most eloquent!
One of the Greatest of all Time !
Loved watching him play
Love this Big Human!!!!
This man embodies hard work and determination.
intelligence the most underrated skill in basketball, mugsy's iq was so high, he did what most people will never experience
I’d love to start a kickstarter for a movie to be made about Muggsy.
His story is one of the best inspiring stories ever.

A sports legend & a class act ❤️🩹✅👍
What an incredible man! A great inspiration in my book.
Thank you for this!
Loved watching Mugsy play in Charlotte. Tough as hell and so quick. Darn near could dunk the ball.
Nah. His hands aren't big enough. More than that, it would hurt like hell to land after going up that high.
That doesn't mean he wasn't great. I think he was. But he had limits
Mugsy COULD dunk 100%. Now whether it was possible IN GAME is not likely, but he could
@@narnianninja4964 he couldn't dunk. His hands aren't big enough to hold the ball.

The Miracle Man in The History of NBA....
What an absolute legend.
There will never be another muggsy bogues. Ever. Not even close. And for that, one could say he was the most amazing player to ever grace the court.
A bonafide LEGEND!!!
He's a legend.
I wanna be like him. May the grace grants it :)
My mom's favorite player. Living proof you can do anything.
You were the shortest...but you were the fastest guy on the court. Incredible!!
Muggsy- NBA legend!
This man is a real goat..
Fact: Bogues usually was more focused on getting the ball and helping others score than he was scoring himself.
Because he couldn't be a scorer at that size.

Love me some Muggsy Bougues.
Big up's Muggs there will never be a little Bigger Man then you Family 💯
You were an incredible player but a much better man
"You got to take your weakness and turn it into a strength"
Yes, we are all dealt our hand in life.
Fucking love this, Muggsy your an amazing person.
He was a god
I know you never give up to play NBA with giant people.
Ray Lewis was under seized playing Linebacker coming out of college and now look 😂
Entropic,is very real.
When I was a kid, I really loved playing basketball, but have always been shorter than the other guys. Muggsy was kind of a role model for me then.
So ahead of his time. Guy can be lethal in today NBA.
This guy is a freak of nature. How did he make it to the NBA only being 5'3?!
Mugsy Bogues is like Messi in soccer
Muggsy for president
Bruh I feel you Ik 4'6" and 13 yrs old

0 s 0 over? Whatcha mean? Basketball? Work hard enough and you’ll get there. NBA or not, you can be great. Take on college, then go for NBA.
Da impact brother!
best ast/turnover ratio in recorded nba history.
I’m about to go hoop fuck it

Can mans please get a movie about his life??
muggsy 1 forever
I never knew who he was till I watched SPACE JAM
With those kind of experiences Muggsy must have tons of character.
he was a great ball player. period.

Man if you are chosen as the “OG” Monstars you know you got game lol
subtitles have many errors
A lesser talked about thing is in video games mugs was a beast
you are the reason why I like Charlotte hornets
Magnetic forces of god!
And he could still almost dunk. At 5'3, it would have been impressive if he was just grabbing the bottom of the net, and dude could just about dunk.
anyway please input subtitles :((
When he mistakenly said i stopped growing when I was 9 years old haha
He didint just make the nba he was a lottery pick

Kind of
Yes, but allen iverson was 5'11 or shorter. Chris paul is 6'0. 2 great players right there. Height don't matter.

Why?in basketball need taller player to play?

They should let more shorter player play & today game
