I think voguing has increased in popularity recently, but usually just sprinkled in here and there for female idols. She definitely is the best idol when it comes to that style imo.
Yep, commercial voguing is free to display after all. I hope commercial voguing will bring about an awareness of real voguing and credit the rightful people :)
True! In that dance practice I literally can't tell who is doing best bc they're all dancing so differently but amazingly! Even Soyeon does very well despite not being a "top tier" dancer. I think the energy she puts in her moves sometimes even makes her the most notable for some moves

One of biggest things I love about Chungha is her extremely strong love for dancing. You can see her passion in every behind the scenes video and the way she treats every dancer with respect. Even for me, a non-dancer, it really warms my heart knowing how passionate she is and how much love she has for her craft.
I also look forward to Seungyeon. My own observation is: Style: Sharpness and power-based Facial: 9 Torso: 10 Arm: 10 Lower: 9 Angles: 10 Coordination: 10 Dynamics: 6-7 (she overdances, little to a lot) Versality: 9
That’s right! That’s my queen! Honestly as a dancer I never noticed her lack of torso control until you pointed it out. I definitely feel like her facials really tell a story which is probably why she’s my most favorite female dancer while Taemin is my favorite male in the Kpop industry. Form of Therapy made a goood analysis during her Play vidéo where he noted Chungha was able to exude various different expressions within a song. In that it makes her captivating. It’s so refreshing to see a K-POP singer be confident in her free styling and bring to the forefront neglected styles within K-POP that are vogueing and waacking. Again I say this within K-POP. Outside of K-POP these styles are far more well represented.
Same, but it's a good point to keep in mind. Chungha is a hardworking person so she's always improving; also i would like to see her trying new styles out of her zone of comfort and getting better and better. Maybe try another choreographer?
her dancing is just so intriguing and enchanting to the eye. it's so elegant and her expressions just added to the whole performance. she really is a top tier performer. going solo was the perfect choice for her.

Chungha is one of those idols I never , ever get tired of watching her dance .... i remember 2018 , when gotta go was released , I always watched her fancams in my explore , I watched her gotta go videos like 1992827363672828 times through the whole year , but i always watched it again and again when i saw them anywhere lol 😂 I know nothing about dancing , but the way she does it is just so mesmerizing .... thank you for the analysis!
I would like to see a Lisa and Chaeyeon one too, both are my personal favorite female dancers and I feel like it'll be an interesting analysis (especially Lisa)

Her charisma and very well-defined moves are the things that catch the attention the first imo. she did the best by going solo! I don't think lots of people understand the effect of 'showcasing' ! she was constantly overshadowed as a member in ioi and I think not alot really would understand her potential nor appreciate her like now. glad really she went solo and is this successful. though I'm not so into female dancers, yet he is definitely one of the top tiers of current.

I’m not really sure about dynamics, but if you watch Hyoyeon’s HGI and see how she got a 10 in versatility, you’d understand why Chungha got 9.5 so maybe Chungha needs more than mastering popping and breakdancing? Depending on how on the scene points it Both are great dancers ofcourse!
@@doodleyeon I haven't rewatched it, but when I say popping and breakdancing, they're exactly what came to my mind when OTS said genres that are out of her comfort zone. Plus, if Chungha really does go hip-hop and master pop and lock, that'd also mean a huge increase in her torso-control score, like she'd be perfect. omg now I'm so excited for an unexpected Chungha hip-hop/pop and lock comeback O_O but for breakdancing, she said it herself that she can never ever breakdance in this life, so the chances of her doing that is almost inexistent xD she'd literally be unrivaled if she does the one dance genre she currently avoids at all cost o_O

i realised that s-tier dancers like hyoyeon, taemin, kai, j-hope and now chungha (even if she is an a grade) all tend to utilise fluidity in their technique :o that’s pretty cool thinking about it! hope you’re feeling better by the way! edit: if anyone can help, i’d really appreciate it! i noticed two other techniques mentioned in the channel: preciseness and polish. however, to my knowledge, these two haven’t been discussed in detail and i’m still trying to figure out what they mean. any help would do!
@@greenlime313 that’s interesting! i thought polish- ness had some resemblances to clarity, whereas preciseness was more to do with timing. very interesting.
@@EEEHajuOnline preciseness from what I understand is the ability to make angles really good and on point which would be a great characteristic for Sharpness. Polish movements is crystallised movements, a characteristic of Clarity. Combine the two, you have Smoothness. Again do ask OTS
Smoothness as OTS uses the word is not that. It's isolation-centered dancing. Sharpness is the name of the technique where a dancer emphasizes sharp dance angles. Sharp dancers are often precise in their placements for this reason, but all dancers even those that do not emphasize sharpness should be precise Polish to me seems as a qualifier. Eg: dancer is polished but not perfect. That's just how they use those adjectives. Another dancer may refer to the same things with different words.
I actually call her a "scientist" when it comes to dancing as her style seems different when I saw her freestyling (like how she uses weird movements that do not look awkward at all). No doubt she definitely has mastered arm controls but I haven't really seen a lot of footwork-inclined dances from Chungha. I think I'd give her a bit of a higher score if she has shown more material on it. But still the scoring seems accurate!

Chungha dances with passion and joy. She puts emotion and details In every move making it so fluid and natural, that is how she attracts the viewers. For references, just to compare with average idol dancers, majority of them just copy paste the choreo taught, making it look very stiff like robots even tho they executed the dance move correctly it will still look abit awkward (for me)
If i may ask, can you do a video about BoA, she's such a legend in the music industry but fans nowadays hardly know or even acknowledged her. So i think it'd be nice if you can show fans what a talented dancer she is, not to mention it's her 20th anniversary this year too! Thank you
1:15 Why is her dancing accurate with the BGM? 🤣 Anyways, great analysis! Chungha is one of the great dancers in terms of fluidity and flexibility alongside Momo and Seulgi. She can do different type of dance genres and still look so smooth when dancing. And also, her facial expressions are great!

@@EEEHajuOnline preciseness from what I understand is the ability to make angles really good and on point which would be a great characteristic for Sharpness. Polish movements is crystallised movements, a characteristic of Clarity. Combine the two, you have Smoothness. Again do ask OTS
Smoothness as OTS uses the word is not that. It's isolation-centered dancing.
Sharpness is the name of the technique where a dancer emphasizes sharp dance angles. Sharp dancers are often precise in their placements for this reason, but all dancers even those that do not emphasize sharpness should be precise
Polish to me seems as a qualifier. Eg: dancer is polished but not perfect.
That's just how they use those adjectives. Another dancer may refer to the same things with different words.

I actually call her a "scientist" when it comes to dancing as her style seems different when I saw her freestyling (like how she uses weird movements that do not look awkward at all). No doubt she definitely has mastered arm controls but I haven't really seen a lot of footwork-inclined dances from Chungha. I think I'd give her a bit of a higher score if she has shown more material on it. But still the scoring seems accurate!

Chungha dances with passion and joy. She puts emotion and details In every move making it so fluid and natural, that is how she attracts the viewers. For references, just to compare with average idol dancers, majority of them just copy paste the choreo taught, making it look very stiff like robots even tho they executed the dance move correctly it will still look abit awkward (for me)

Anyways, great analysis! Chungha is one of the great dancers in terms of fluidity and flexibility alongside Momo and Seulgi. She can do different type of dance genres and still look so smooth when dancing. And also, her facial expressions are great!
