Heart, please. In late June 2019, Giant Cell Myocarditis caused my heart to fail. I was put on ECMO and soon (August 20), I received a new heart.
It took awhile for my doctors to figure out what was causing my severe symptoms, but their diligence and unrelenting determination to keep me alive are the reason I’m still here. We knew nothing about GMC before I got sick, but we’ve become experts. My new heart is doing very well. Life is good.

Wow! I am happy to hear you are doing well. May have to do heart failure into multiple parts because it’s a vast topic. Cardiac ICU is my favorite so I’m excited to talk about it.

Hi can you explain the kidneys after the heart. The reason for that is because I was born with hyperdisplastic kidneys. I did dialysis for 18 years. 11 years on PD and 7 HD. This is my third kidney transplant and I’m only 26 years old. After my transplant, I decided to work as a dialysis technician and help people just like me.Also I volunteer at organ donation clinic and want to work as an organ recovery tech.

I actually decided to do the kidneys first since I just spent the entire month of February talking about the heart. Keep an eye out for the next video to drop on Tuesday!
I’m happy to hear you are doing well post transplant. I’m sure your patients are happy to be taken care of someone who went through it themself.

Oh, wow, that's a heavy topic, but it's important to stay informed, right? Organ failure can affect various parts of the body, so the signs and symptoms can vary widely depending on which organ is affected. Here's a general rundown:
    1. Heart Failure: Shortness of breath, fatigue, swollen legs, and rapid heartbeat.
    2. Kidney Failure: Fatigue, confusion, nausea, swelling in ankles and feet, reduced urine output, and difficulty breathing.
    3. Liver Failure: Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), abdominal pain, swelling, itchy skin, dark urine, and chronic fatigue.
    4. Lung Failure: Shortness of breath, rapid breathing, confusion, and lethargy.
    5. Pancreatic Failure: Severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and weight loss.
    6. Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS): Low blood pressure, altered mental status, rapid heart rate, and a decrease in urine output.
If you or someone you know might be experiencing these symptoms, it's crucial to seek medical attention promptly. Always better to be safe and check in with a healthcare professional!
