- In this tutorial, I will show you the easiest method to model an interior scene in 3dsmax.
As some of you might know, I already have a tutorial about this subject. Still, everybody told me that it's too fast, hard to follow, and not very informative (and yet the most viewed tutorial on this subject in the whole youtube).
So I decided to make this one! I will give you all the necessary details that you need to know, so you could easily start modeling any interior scene without any problem. You might need to watch it 2 or 3 times since I'm sure there is a lot to learn here.
I hope you guys like this one, and please let me know if there are any questions.
Don't forget to subscribe tho ;) Thank you.

great tutorial, really helpful, thank you
Thank you so much, This Tutorial are Very Helpful
Glad to hear that!
Hello Brother your videos are so easy to understand and very helpful too....
I have a doubt on scaling image in 3ds max
I work my projects in inches can u explain me how to scale a plan in inches that would be more helpful to me
Thank You :)
Thank you, a great tutorial, though I missed some parts like where you got the appliances and interior decor from?
You've just earned a subscriber sir. I'm starting to learn 3ds Max cos it's never been in my workflow as I'm an avid sketchup user. You seem to be elaborative enough for a beginner as to why some things are happening in specific scenarios and easy solutions to overcome them. Thank you for your patient approach.
Thank you very much Ashwin.
Thanks for the beautiful tutorial
Always welcome
thank you so so so much your a great person you helped
Wow, thank you for this! Gonna be a nice weekend learning project for sure.
Hope you enjoy it!
Amazing as Always !
Thank you Tarek, I really appreciate that.
good job mate, great tutorials
I appreciate that man. So honored to have you here
Sir please we need one more video like this
Have you seen my very first video? That’s about modelling as well
Great work! I have a small question, can u integrate this project with VR and and interact with it?
great video i am beginer but still works out
Hey thanks a lot, can you please explain why we cant draw splines at front view sometimes ? its locked and i can only make in top view
Crystal clear class
Glad you liked it
so good, thanks alot
You are the best...very useful
Thank you 🙏🏼 I’m glad you liked it
@@HMSTUDIO2020 never mention 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You are the best
Thank you so much for this tutorial, it's so helpful. But at 46:23 you are moving around the building and I cannot. How to navigate around the project. Thank you again.
Thanks alot for this toturial, but i have a question, in 1:00:16 i can’t find the Vray MTL, how can i get that ?
where can we find the picture of the plan that you used ?
Thank you
Thank you so much for this....
You're welcome 😊
CHOKRAN very much. Can you teach us how you zoom and navigate easely in the scene.please
That's very cool. Where I can find the dwg file?
This tutorial was so helpful. Please can you also share Rendering workflows aswell
There will be 2 more tutorials to come. One about materialising this scene and another one about lighting and post production.
@@HMSTUDIO2020 That's awesome, looking forward to it. Your 3 videos will be all anyone needs. You explains things so well and at a very good pace. Thank you.
Hi there! I am new to 3DS Max and am following along with you in this video and am stuck at very beginning... I have drawn the floor plan exactly how you had, but whenever I extrude, between the walls is hallow. I have tried redrawing a few times now and made sure all the vertices are welded but I am still having trouble. Is it possible to "cap" the walls or, is there any indication that shows which vertices are not welded? Any insight would be so appreciated!
Thanks for the great videos
where did you get the floor plan?
Really helpful
Glad to hear that
Amazing tutorial, I have always relied on more user friendly software to do the modelling but I guess sometimes it is useful to have native 3ds Max geometry. I could have not ask for a clearer explanation. Thanks!
Thank you very much. I'm glad it was helpful :)
What kind of other user-friendly software do you use? I work with 2020 Design, I am pretty good at it, but some how renderings are that realistic which customers like. This is a very useful tutorial, Thank you HM Studio
@@grdtllc50923ds max is harder to learn for those archviz artist who also know SketchUp. Maybe because of UI. Using move, rotate and scale tool to objects and drag and slide does not give precisions and measurement which can be done on SketchUp easily. To model in native max file is for me relevant since modifiers can be added to it to more complex geometries. Thanks so much HM studio! You are our hero!

Great always thanks sir
Always welcome
I hate to ask this but all the furniture blocks you are using, were they already created? I like to mix and match and it cna be extremely hard to find premade blocks forcertsin furniture pieces...
Hey, whats the name of that little eye icon at the right bottom of your toolbar? Also, love your tutorial. This really helps with my learning
Also, how do you zoom inside? 46:16
Hi, could you please tell me how could you find the 3d models? i can't find them on 3Dsky
If you have the cad file you can set it as a background to which you can snap to ... that is much more accurate than all the scaling at the start ...then use lines to draw the walls then extrude and you have the the floor ...
Of course that would be more accurate, and that's why I have modeling tutorials based on CAD files as well! I'm just trying to teach different approaches for different scenarios :)
great tutorial! one question, which button did you press in 5:13 to change the direction of the drawing line?
To be honest I didn't get the question... If you mean how to draw straight lines, the answer would be by holding the shift key on your keyboard. If that's not the question, they I would need you to elaborate a bit more :D
@@HMSTUDIO2020when i try to draw a plane, i cant choose the axis or i cant draw to z axis and its always gone to x, y axis. How to change the axis when draw plane.
Hi, Thank you for the detailed and useful tutorials, there's one thing that I didn't understand which is when I try to merge the KITCHEN worktop, and there's none of a thing in the scenes file in the 3ds Max folder of mine. What should I do in this case? Thanks
Hi there. Thank you for your purchase. It’s been mentioned in the description that the models are not included in the file since I don’t have the right to share these models on my website due to copyright laws.
You can find pretty similar models on 3dsky for free. I hope that works for you 🙏🏼
@@HMSTUDIO2020 Alright, Thank you 🙏🥰
Great sir
Thank you.
Hi sir, Thanks for the lessons.
But i have doubt, when i try to create a plane to z axis, its always going to x y axis. Cant draw a plane vertically. Here in the video you are simply make planes to the desired axis as you wish.. but i cant. Can you please tell how to fix this. (41.01 - when draw plane for book shelves)
i just winder can you add interiors without creating them like an add on or something
I'm a beginner in learning 3Ds max and when I was trying to trace lines on the autocad plan, I was not able to get the exact corner points. My line used to end either a lil behind or ahead of that point. What problem I might be facing or is there any snap setting that I missed?
You should right click on the snap button and enable the Vertex option.
Thanks
good 🤩
may I know what is the advantage of this from Sketchup?
because it looks so much time consuming when I can do that in sketchup for 10ms.
I'm really curious because it's the industry standard and I don't know if I should learn this or not
Continue this in series, next video on corona material, lighting & post production
That is the plan 👍
very good man
Glad you liked it ;)
How I can get the same floorplan to learn every step
How can i view inside ?
where did you get this plan and pictures?
Thank you for your tutorial. Any chance you can do the texturing of this model and render into corona? Thanks again you are a great teacher.
You're most welcome. I'm actually recording that tutorial for my next video. It'll come out soon ;)
hi i am using 4gb ram ,intel pentium 2.90 ghz , ssd desktop.
which version of 3ds maX stable in my pc
when I try to bring the image in 3dmax, it only shows up in the perspective port and not the top viewport, how can I fix that?
thanks
Hello, I stuck in the very beginning, when I drag and drop the image it can be seen just in 3d view, how to set up the top view?
i really like and waiting for as modelling
Thank you. Tune in, there are lots more to come
@@HMSTUDIO2020 sure it's my profit to be here,😁
Hi, how can I get the materials to practice?
Hii, im trying to figure out how you do the zoom in inside the project at 46:16 xD
Can you help me pleaseee
I saw him clicking that little eye icon at the bottom right toolbar. But i don't know the name and can't seem to find it. I'm also having trouble with that 😆
thx
thank hamin ^ ^
You're most welcome :)
I would love to follow the video. It is amazing where can I find the floor plan to follow along?
it is linked in this video's description
@@srishtiroy1558 thank you
❤❤❤❤ it's amazing to learn how to do this + add the lights and special effects🥰😍🪄🧠+ take care of your kid🥰😍💪🏻
indeed :) I already have two other videos following this one for making materials and lighting up the scene :)
Hello, Beginner here ! What are your Snap Tool settings ? Mine does not automatically align ? Thanks ! Also autogrid does not align properly !
Mine too..
Hi, I have no idea that there's no FloorGenerator in my Modifier List, as I'm using a 3ds Max 2024. Could you please me tell me where I can find it in this case? Thanks a lot.
You can get the free version off of their website. Just look for floor generator on Google and it would be the first one that comes up.
@@HMSTUDIO2020 Alright. Thanks a lot 🙏🥰
I couldn't find the tutorial modeling based on an AutoCAD file. can your share the link? Thanks!
Here it is: th-cam.com/video/9O1MkpLdZvs/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=HMSTUDIO
When i insert image to 3dsmax why so blur…?
48:01 Problem is the when i apply the FFD 2X2X2 modifier, it's making a control point for each vertices and the object my is not transforming like yours...
You shouldn't have any of the elements of your object to be activated. You're probably having the vertices activated when applying the FFD.
I know this is a long shot to ask and see if you will reply but I am a beginner on 3DS max and I specifically use it to render interiors. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the snap feature to work so the vertexes have the same y or x axis like you do at 4:19 Every time I do it- the line will move somewhere else and not even align with the vertex! Please help :D
To align a vertex with another one that differs in location across all three dimensions, select the 'Snap 3' option. Ensure all three dimensions on the move tool are highlighted in yellow by hovering over the first vertex before clicking. Hope that helps.
I wish there was a way to show you what I am seeing because it just isnt working for me. Everytime I try this large green/yellow cross appears with a box in the center. Maybe something is different with my settings? Thank you for the reply! @@HMSTUDIO2020
what is this tool you use to go inside the house and navigate? I didn't fine it
pls did you figure it out? I'm also trying to find it
How can I get the vray list?
nice vedio good explanation for practice please share cad file
Can you please give us the plan so we can work directly and learn same as the video
wonderful tutorial. but where is the bedroom model plus the bathroom. Thanks a lot
Well, if you manage to model the areas that are covered in the tutorial, the practice would be to model the rest of the areas on your own😄
I hope the tutorial is clear enough that makes you able to do that.😉
@@HMSTUDIO2020ok pro Thanks a lot
Hi, i suggest save the 3d model to 2013 version, so other people with late version can use it
Noted. Thank you.
Also everything in the renders is burned out I should fix something in the render setting ??
That is only the model, so you should follow the tutorial to get the same results :)
can you share plan with us?
Hey, I cant Find The autocad plan , I want to practice This tutorial🙏
You can find it in the description now
1.00 min > UVW Map > Bitmap Fit
👍👍👍👍
Hi
Can I get the cad file please ?
WILL THE CONTINUE COMING AND THE COATING AND LIGHTING SETTINGS
That's the plan. One video about materials and another one about lighting and post production.
hi! I dont really get what you did on 7:23, could you explain?
What is confusing for you? It’s just simple extrude. Can you tell me more about your problem?
Hey buddy, how can I get the image of the floor plan?
It's in the description :)
NIce Thanks
Thank you too!
Could you pls upload the texturing and lighting parts?
They already are on the channel 😉
@@HMSTUDIO2020 can you share the links of both pls 🙏
Can i get the initial image on the tutorial?
You can find it in the description :)
thanks. though i'm having problems with 4:41. i press S for snap tool and hold shift but the line tries to connect to the other vertex and doesn't move in a straight line.anyone have any tips?
same issue
@@UmairZiaArt-zn5xg hey, i figured it out. right click on the snap tool -> options -> turn off "enable shape angle constraints" under shape creation. you can turn on the "display rubber band" for a better visual. oh and make sure that only "vertex" is on in snaps tab.
thanks so much!@@motyfokol5392
@@motyfokol5392 thank you so much!
when i do the line it become like one block or like a celling not a wall, why ?
You have to have an outline like in the tutorial. You have probably missed one small detail while modelling the walls. I think it would be helpful to watch that part again…
why not use the wall tool from the start?
It's not that flexible to be honest. But you can always use that method if you feel more comfortable with it.
