15:00 So in single player Don't Starve there is a glitch where if you have a thermal stone in your backpack it will be considered MUCH hotter than it actually is. So if you want to cool down have them in your main inventory, if you want to heat up have them in your backpack. It's strange but hey Don't Starve is strange.

No offense, but that's the last thing you wanna do in solo DS. Either dragonfly can kill them or you hope she can next year, cause your world is going to be overpopulated with rocklobster.
Dragonfly can kill a lot of rocklobsters, they just get burned to death in their passive state. However, there is a bug that rocklobster always respawn at the sinkhole after you bring them to the surface once.
@@tschudino I have playes DS all my life and you can yust fead them again adn take them in caves againwhere they will unfolowyou eventualy or you can make them fight eacother and if one goes to "sleep" fead him one more rock and he will be up and fight other lopsters
For one thing Klei has changed the crazy spawning rate of Rock Lobsters while up above but what Mikko is saying is still true, Dragonfly can still wipe the floor with lobsters so I still need to be careful.
@@filipbozur3659 Yes, you're right. lobster vs. lobster can work or feed them and bring them back underground. To me, the bug still happend like seasons later there are rocklobsters again at the sinkhole. All I wanna say is, it can be very arduous to get rid of them.

Beard, the Thermal Stones don’t work in your backpack. I don’t know if that’s the same in DST, but it is in solo Don’t Starve. I don’t think that was the case early on (I’ve been playing since before reign of giants) and I don’t even know if or when they changed it, so it makes sense you didn’t know or forgot since, as you said, it’s been a while since you played Don’t Starve (Alone) 😅
Edit: A reply from Leo in Beard’s comment thread explained the glitch: not only does the cooling not work in a backpack, but it’s actually registers as hotter and will heat you up (thus that ridiculous 70+degrees temp). I’m keeping this up for anyone else that might find glitches interesting 😆

Beard! thank you very much for the video. I truly enjoy it since I`m also playing RoG as Wicker and have completed exploration of two whole ruins. Hey bro, a little tip: be carefull of lobsters since they eat valuable gems and thulecite! Man, sometimes I want to kill them for that but I need somebody to receive the monkeys`s crap for me. I think they are only usefull when dealing with monkeys since Chess pieces and Depth worms are relatively easy to fight. I recommend to befrend them and leave them in the monkeys biome but if the nightmare cycle is about to begin I atack them to stop being friend and so prevent them from following me close to my base and my earthquake receiving area. I`ll happily wait for the next episode. I also built a meat effigy but do not place it unless I`m sure I will die soon. So that, It is like a portable touchstone :D
Once I was playing DST...
I entered a cave on day 12 and the first thing I see is the labyrinth guardian literally and it was even connected with the normal ground so I could even defeat him and get amazing loot from the labyrinth on the first season
I thought DST was meant to be less glitched than the normal don't starve

Me and my cousin, were in a nightmare cycle and barely made it out alive. *shudder*
Another time, was when we were fighting Fuel Weaver and we died from being under prepped, (we had lots of LG Amulets but we didnt have that much perogi) I was Wolfgang and he was Webber I think. R.I.P. Me and him are good at duo DST, one big run ruiner was the hounds and it was day 100 or something. D:

In Reign of Giants, followers will follow you between levels. Rock Lobsters will follow you to the Surface and the Ruins *(Surface Rock Lobsters are a great way to deal with Giants)*
This applies to Glommer and Chester as well, so Chester can be brought into the Ruins as a replacement for chests. Plus you can swap thermals in and out with Snow Chester to invalidate the overhearing.
D fly advice. Use 2 camp fires or endothermic fires to prevent her from moving. This will make kiting easier. I think after 3 swipes she does her area attack. Be weary. Speed is key as you always say. I hope this helps you at all

I loved the bad decision part! There was even a Slurper chasing you there while an earthquake and some friendly monkeys wanted to kill you there. Yizz, that Ancient Guardiant mistake is something that happened to me but with Slurtles. Dying in DS is always like Surprise MF!

Guardian horn is down in a chest near the ruins to keep it safe.

Hey bro a piece of advice. Just in case you didn`t know gems change every nightmare cycle but also when disconnect and conect back to the game. Also, you don`t need to fight Chess pieces if there are spider nest. you can make them chase you where the Chess pieces are or just use the spider queen hat for some time.
that's why I keep only basic resources in my backpack

I think you could beat the Dragonfly using the magiluminesence, the crown, the thulecite club, your honey poultices and if you could also built the ice staff to get a big advantage when it gets enraged. All of us would have been astonished. I`d like to see it.
I heard she is inmune to the ice staff but even though it stunns effectively. I`m using Wickerbottom and I always bring a torch, my sleeping time story`s book and lovely gunpowder during summer. However I`d like to fight her mano-a-mano one day and realizing you had the chance encourages me to do some creative strategies. Come on Beard do it!

Just an Idea: try playing skipwrecked in dst?
there are a a couple good mods that actually add it, with only a few glitches
while you're insane you could get some beard hairs and make an effigy for if you lose maybe?

You do realize how many lobsters we actually need for that right? This option is not as viable as you and many others believe.

Dragonfly in solo comes FOR YOU while in DST you have to go to her as she's a raid boss in the latter.

You need WAY MORE than 6-8 lobsters to handle her. Her AOE fire move will burn them even in their defensive state.

She's a lot more deadly though.
Instantly enraged, always has that heat damage, she'll light wormwood on fire really quickly.
Honestly beard should hope he can kill her with tentacles, or try to make some marble armor and marble armor/helmet and tank her, putting her to sleep to heal.
What Were said, solo Dragonfly is a beast that shouldn't be underestimated - especially as I am playing Wormwood.
