My mom surprised me with my first ATV. It's a 2006 Yamaha Blaster, and literally all it needs done is a top end engine rebuild. Also i got the ATV for ONLY 75 DOLLARS. And i found a rebuild kit for only 120!!! Ik you said it's not good for beginners, but it's bone stock, and i feel confident that i can learn it easily, and i will be very careful. I am soo glad i got a Yamaha Blaster!!!
my yamaha blaster 2006 is my first atv and its boared out to a 210cc and its super reliable. ive had it for over 2 years and i havent had to change a spark plug once. and i ride it hard
I have a 2000 or 2001 I got when I was 13 or 14, and It definitely wasn't the nicest well taken care of machine , but me and my dad all these years later definitely increased the value of it. I have kinda always wished that I could have gotten either the more stylish(In my opinion) and overall nicer 04-06 blaster or a better maintained 01. The 04-06 blasters just had better plastics and the parts are very much still available as far as plastics and headlamp/break light stuff. 🤷🏻 oh well I work with what I've got
Honestly have to disagree with you I think they are pretty good first quads they aren’t too expensive if stuff breaks and they are great to learn how to shift on and just drive in general and have enough power to get you around my first quad was a 2003 big bored Yamaha blaster with full fmf pipes and I never crashed and learned to ride on it
i would definitely buy one. manual is the best part of driving a blaster. it is not hard to learn i started by watching videos on how to drive them, then when it came time to actually drive it i got the basics down. then its just building experience, and i love the blaster because it is a basic concept, i rebuilt both the machines in the video and its easy to find a problem if there is one, but they are on the expensive side to fix up but once you fix them all up the purr hope this helps you decide!!
@@tylerkrisher8348 don't get me wrong, nothing better in the bog, or muskeg, hook up awesome even in snow. I have a set for my modded raptor when I'm going mudding.
I like how you talk These up I honestly have had mine for 20 years and I’ve sunk over $7000 into my blaster they suck when they are stock I do recommend them for anybody starting out I don’t understand what you mean?? they only have 18 hp stock, mine is probably about 28 to 30 hp and is absolutely nasty will flip you off of it first second third gear and probably forth but don’t Lie people bro these things suck from the factory And take ALOT of money to get power out of
I freed up my air intake and exhaust went with 10.3:1 compression piston with 1mm overbore and 1 tooth taller up front. Top end on my GPS last year was 67 mph. But floats kept sticking a bit. May try again tomorrow. I'm at around 24-25 hp. I have a 34mm intake and cab yet to install, plus I need to tune the intake and exhaust ports. Dremel time 😉
thank you for the comments, I love my machines I have them both upgraded a little and a lot of money is right, but this video was an assignment for my college class about pros and cons. haha
Blaster motor from 1992 were actually blueprint from Yamaha 1979 200cc 2 stroke. I had 1992 blaster but I had to beat shit out of it to have fun piston an rings frequently either seized or burnt out to point I carried a Wisco piston an ring set into woods with me an changed them in woods. Blaster is horrible in snow its to light.
Dude $1,400 for a four-wheeler is not expensive they are also not that loud I like them being loud it sound good they are very reliable and good four wheelers and any four wheelers that you flip over will get you hurt a Yamaha blaster is safer than a 900 lb Arctic cat 4x4 and don't you dare say that 4 x 4 four wheeler has more safety than a Yamaha blaster no four-wheelers have safety features like a rollover bar if it's got a rollover bar it's a side by side
3:22 lol the key is worthless. all they have to do is unscrew the cover and detach/cut the 2 wires coming from the keybox and its all theirs for the taking
@@tylerkrisher8348 yeah my dad lost the key to my uncles blaster putting it away years ago. all he did was unplug the wires and it started up. he found it a few months later and it is still a "keyed" ignition. honestly if you are worried about theft, buy a 100$ lo-jack device and place it in your airbox. thieves arent smart enough to check there for a device. heck they probably arent even smart enough the cut the keyswitch wires either, so you're styling
Your all wrong about the blaster. It is a starter ATV in fact you’ll grow out of this so quick that it’s almost better to start with a 250. Otherwise everything else was correct about the blaster.
Thank you much Jack!!!! More to come this summer along with deep sea fishing videos, this video was for a class of mine so I had to follow guide lines but more will come!!
let me teach you what my dad taught me you can take ten blasters and line em up they will all be different one will go faster one shifts better one has a more comfortable seat one has better turning one has better suspension and so on so fourth

@@moto_tech_braap_itout9852 yeah I rebuilt the top end but not because it needed it but because I wanted the power, even tho it not alot, but yeah I baby them i dont rev them out too too much.

How did you fit those rear plastics those aren’t stock right?
they were easy, bolt-ons from Maier USA. they cost a pretty penny and took a lot of research to find the ones that I liked the best.
Can you tell me how fast is it
yes so I am 220lbs and with the work done to these engines, the black one maxes out at 61mph and the green one maxed out at 63mph
Tyler Krisher ok thank you
Mine just doesn’t have rear brakes

U got raptor fenders on green one
they have the look of the raptor but they are the only after market fenders I could find that did look like crap they cost a pretty penny too
Maier custom fenders
they ARE NOT Very loud, and Excellent learning sport quads. One of the BEST to learn to ride a manual ATV.
TheOnlyTwitch.R6 depends on the fatty pipe and exhaust
Your right on everything except that they are not loud they are pretty loud I have one myself
for my liking the are pretty loud, when riding behind them it gets a little annoying some of my riding buddys say

There fine for beginners it’s drum brakes not spring brakes and ther not so powerful and ther not super loud compared to 250 2 strokes or 4 strokes
