This is exactly what I was thinking about using it for, a DMR hotspot. I also have a few analog 70cm repeaters around me so it would be cool for those as well. I was curious to know how you programmed it? I am total new to motorola radios I appreciate you sharing this info
You first have to obtain CPS 2.0 from Motorola. It is free, you just have to create a business account and 'purchase' it. It just uses a micro usb data cable to program it.
@@kd9fal Thanks for the tip, It's making me wait 72hr before it will let me download it. Is it possible to program gmrs freq into the UHF model? Just curious.
You can find used SL300's on eBay, or I believe you can still buy them new through a Motorola dealer. Make sure you find one with the correct frequency, number of channels, features, etc.
I don't believe so. I will double-check when i get back to my computer. In my opinion, VOX does not belong on a commercial radio. If not used correctly, it creates unintentional key ups, and the end user doesn't know it is keying up. Vox is useful if you need a quick and dirty way to insert audio from another radio or device.
Everyone everyone please hit the👍👍for radios with Russell

@@kd9fal Thank you can you get fire and police on the sl300 with programming
@@FireSafetyTech If they operate in the band the radio operates in and are analog or conventional DMR, yes
I am thinking about purchasing one of these for security. Will I be able to use it right out of the box if I don't wanna program it
@@willtherocker2373 You will need to program the radio for a frequency you are authorized to use before you can use the radio
Connect with baofeng uv5r lest see
1. Why would I do that to this poor radio. 2. I don't have a uv-5r
