It's not only hits landed which count towards the score, but also time spent in S or more. You can just RG block or jump over enemies staying in S+ to get points. Great video as always nonetheless :D
Yes, jumping on enemies and throwing a taunt every 30 seconds is the classic idea :D RG is the fastest though! Thanks for the info about time spent on S rank, i never knew that! Probably that explains the extra bonus "consistent style" :)

Well done and awesome video! Good luck getting S rank on mission 8 & 10 for many people these two missions are the hardest to S rank on DMD -> and if you get to mission 12 there is a nice skip you can use to skip a lot of encounters :) just search mission 12 skip and you will find it!
I don't know if you already know that.The horse dude in V's fight always casts his time balls, and even if they catch you you can activate devil trigger and even though there is no animation because the time is so slow you will receive no damage and I think you won't receive it until the time ball disappears. Im not sure if it works that way, but that's at least how I experienced it and doing it this way I managed to no damage that fight.Hope this helps you out!Don't know if you're planning to do V related stuff but yeah.
If I had to change the buttons since I'm used to the other DMCs, apart from using the L1 to change the Breaker, I was not convinced ... so I put the Devil Trigger and the arrow up on the pad to change the breakers. What if I still do not understand the ranking system hahaha ... well ... you're right for us that we play to get rank S is very tedious so many load screens and the slow menu. Great video as always. Nice tip from skips fights and keep the ranks points...pass everything the same as you what the end of the video hahaha
2:18 You can add the loadout you want to Magazines 1-3 and they'll stay there. The slot just called "Magazine" is just the current loadout you have, which you can change with Magazines 1-3.

@2:20 you dont have to remove and equip everything again, as long as you set one of the custom magazines to the set you want you can always access it from the Mission Start screen.

I'm very pissed, i was doing Gerbera Gp01 backflip shockwave to knock his fireballs back, they spawned & shot at almost exact same time, I knocked back the 1st one, the 2nd one broke my GP01 instantaneously and I didn't have another jump & I fell into the lasers as they crossed and I got tossed into both of em and died, I ended with 6,988 -,-
About stylish pts you get from each hit, I feel like SSS gives A LOT more stylish points than SS and below. There were even a few times I got just a bit over 7000 by staying in SSS for almost the entire duration of the fight, so probably about 7500 per hit or something?
The style system in this is so confusing. I don't get why mission 8/10/12/15/18 give overall less style points than other missions even for the exact same level of play. Certain enemies definitely give more style points than others because you can get 10+K base points in mission 2 after just 2 fights... I would have thought someone would have datamined the formula by now, but I guess we'll have to wait even longer for that.
Well done, it sure wasn't an easy task on this mission. :) However... without Speed Clear S, it isn't really a "Perfect" S... Maybe it's just me, but time requierement was always a part of DMC S ranking and it feels wrong without it. Wether it's possible on Prologue/M8 or not, is another question, but the game is still fresh.

Also I don't see this statement officially anyway the way you said it, so everyone can assume their view of "perfection". But logicaly Speed Clear also has Rankings from B to S.

im old fashioned I use the default controls for nero. Except I use devil bringer as circle and breaker for R2. devil trigger L1. The only thing I have not mastered is hold combos and exceed + devil bringer punch combo consistently

i kno there is muscle memory from dmc4, but dont u think putting devil Breaker on the shoulder button is better since there is charge in it. my nero control is almost the same except i put breaker on R2 and Devil trigger on square, melee triangle
My layout is l1 as devil breaker sqaure DT r2 shoot triangle melee and o bringer i changed this so i can charge devil breaker and still pull enemys to me easily and i can easily charge blue rose in mid combo
There's no perfect layout, but I like keeping Devil Bringer on R2 because enemy holds can be very useful as well as using Devil Bringer as a wire snatch alternative while charging up for a Devil Breaker breakage attack. There's also using the Devil Bringer punch as moves that cause heavy knockback land in order to stop the enemy from flying away from you (streak, end of your Red queen combos, etc). Dpad DT works well imo because you can activate it in a pinch while charging breakage attacks, etc. The only things I've changed from default are swapping gun and breakaway
It's basically a checkpoint abuse trick. Restarting a checkpoint in the game will remember if you've taken damage or not, also it counts as a continue so you can't get the no damage and no continue bonuses that way. However, getting hit then closing the application before reaching the next checkpoint will erase that progress and restarts you from the last checkpoint as you've never been hit. :\
I must suck really bad because i can't get over a B grade for the prologue on devil hunter. I can't build over 3500 point because i get hit too much during the encounter.

Depends on your play style. Some people like to charge Dante's guns so it would be useful. In this game however, Dante can charge guns automatically while having gunslinger style equiped. Charging gun is very helpful for Nero, no doubt. But I don't find it a must for my Dante playstyle so i only set it to triangle just for: 1. extra juggling and as a combo linker 2. and most importantly, easy way to face the enemy quickly.
I don't think I will. It's basically the same games only with more speed. But i'm doing LDK no damage run since it's a new mode and was not in the original.
