    *Reminder that this video was filmed before COVID-19 - we are not travelling at this time* 👉 Have you ever been to a Turkish bath? Did you enjoy it? If you haven't been, does it sound like something you'd like to try?

      @EileenAldis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MrRokkafella Hello! I really appreciate you sharing that because we definitely want to try other baths! We loved this one and it was cool that we could go together the first time but now we want to try them ALL haha. 🙌 The one you recommend sounds awesome. How often would you say you visit a bath?

    • @EileenAldis

      @MrRokkafella Having access to a Turkish bath any time sounds pretty fantastic to me haha. Once a month would be wonderful. I felt the same way in Budapest where the bath culture is also incredible (but different, of course) :)

    Another great video. I like the interview format, given that video inside the hammam was restricted. Your enthusiasm still comess through, and once again, I'm completely convinced that I need to go to a hamman, too! The architecture was so intriguing, and I especially liked your flushed faces after the bath. Loved that Polly tried to steal the show! :)

    When we lived in Denmark sauna life was pretty common but mostly due to the generally colder climate. I'm guessing Canada is the similar? But from the window view behind you two it looks beautiful.

    Nice video with nice people, so thank you again. I guess there is better Hamam's with same price or cheaper but what you get is better. I couldn't understand why they didn't allow you to record at the inside of bath if there was nobody. Usually they allows! And there is multiple Hamam's, new or historical doesn't matter but has options for; together, seperate, couples or groups (we have a wedding tradition such as going to hamam at the day of henna). Looking forward to see more videos of you guys traveling around the world, but especially the Istanbul :) Thank you both!

By the way, I saw your other video where you mentioned that you’re sorry because you will not be able to find Sahlep in Canada. Actually you can! I am pretty sure that there are some Turkish grocery stores there. I love it too, especially in winter! I can find here. Most likely, they sell in Canada too. You just need to make it by yourself which is so easy. You just warm up the milk, then add the Sahlep, (it is in powder form, in a small package) and stir for a minute or two and it’s ready, not like the original one, but it works 😂 just so you know 😉

    Eileen described the exfoliating section as it have to be :)
    If you can able to go there again just try Soda-Ayran mixed. (When we say soda we mean mineral water in Turkey :D) You may not love the taste in the first time but after bath it's very refreshing beverage.
    Usually when we went hamam we wet the marble with the cold water before we lay down. The marble's hotness come from the hot water beneath the marble :)
    After bath you should spend at least half an hour in the hamam so your body can set your temperature down to protect you to get cold :)
    After bath you'll aware that you sweat more than anytime because the peeling opened all of your pores and your skin is breathing :)
    P.s: I'm not sure if i'm clear but hope you can get another wonderful experience around Turkey :)

      I recommend you 2 important things, 1.) Convert your dollars to Turkish lira and pay with it when you get service or shopping. That will prevent you to pay much than more. 2.) i believe there are tourist guiding applications or web sites about Istanbul that you can get 100% efficiency and pleasure. Be sure to search this! Have goods days :-)

    The Turkish baths in Istanbul are pretty touristy, but overall I think it was pretty much a regular experience. One major difference is, if you’re at a less touristy place, it costs around 5-10Cad. Also the “massage” is usually the guy trying to break your bones, you literally get abused by the guy, but afterwards you feel so good.
